Capítulo 903: Chapter 903: Going Ho, She’s Tired
No one knew why Scarlett Jennings suddenly summoned lightning to strike Samuel Chalrs.
Except for Dashiell.
Because that idea was originally his.
He just hadn’t expected that Scarlett Jennings, after ntioning it twice without acting, would actually follow through this ti.
Although, striking or not striking seed the sa.
But for so reason, watching her lightning strike near Samuel Chalrs’ feet made him feel even more sorrowful.
At that mont, he would have preferred Scarlett’s lightning to strike Samuel Chalrs directly.
Perhaps, then, she wouldn’t be so sad.
The Silver Flood Dragon softly carried Scarlett Jennings through the clouds. Its pace was slow, and the winds from above tousled Scarlett’s hair, gently carrying away a single droplet of moisture.
Dashiell flew silently for quite a while before softly asking her,
“Scarlett, are you feeling sad?”
Scarlett Jennings didn’t answer directly, she only said,
“I’m tired.”
She said,
“Dashiell, take ho.”
Back to their house in Sea City.
She missed her parents and brother.
Dashiell said no more, only replied, “Alright!”
…
anwhile, Scarlett Jennings and Dashiell’s early departure didn’t make too many people suspicious.
She wasn’t part of this mission’s list from the start.
Her appearance here, and reportedly controlling the Hydra, was already considered a major contribution.
The aftermath didn’t really need her involvent.
Samuel Chalrs stood where he was, watching the figure disappear entirely above the clouds, before slowly withdrawing his gaze.
His face betrayed no emotion, yet in his ears, her parting words echoed repeatedly.
It seed he had made a mistake.
While Samuel Chalrs remained motionless, Simon, who had been standing from afar on Benedict Beast’s head, discreetly sighed.
Benedict Beast looked at him with a slightly twisted expression.
Though unwilling to say it, those three lightning bolts had struck its turtle shell.
Simon gave it a glance, “Don’t tell those bolts injured you.”
After all, it’s Benedict Beast, with extrely strong defense; its shell could even withstand Heavenly Thunder.
Just three Purple Thunder strikes couldn’t even leave a scratch.
Benedict Beast only said, “Of course not, but getting struck still feels tingly.”
However, compared to striking the master, it was better that they landed on its shell.
Simon ignored the whining old Benedict Beast and lifted a leg, instantly appearing before Samuel Chalrs to discuss pressing matters,
“Master, we’ve already tallied the Ghost Fog Organization mbers who ca over, but we couldn’t find the body of that Addison anywhere.”
Samuel Chalrs recalled Addison being swept into the sea with the Water Tornado when the Sycamore Oracle appeared, possibly carried off by currents, or perhaps… she took the chance to escape.
Though she likely hadn’t witnessed Scarlett summoning the Hydra Specter, it was better to be cautious.
“Issue a Spiritual Affairs arrest warrant, we must find Addison and bring her back for confinent.”
A Spiritual Affairs arrest warrant goes beyond the internal realms of the Security Bureau or Mystic Regulation Office.
Any registered Mystical Sect mber or Demon Clan affiliated with Spiritual Affairs, even Ghost Cultivators, could claim an official reward for capturing Addison or providing relevant clues.
Simon agreed without surprise, looked at Samuel Chalrs, and asked,
“As for the polluted waters in this area, how do you plan to handle it?”
In Samuel Chalrs’ current state, it’s not suitable for cleansing pollution caused by nuclear wastewater.
As long as Huaguo continues to discharge wastewater into the sea, the pollution cannot be entirely eradicated.
Samuel Chalrs glanced over at Harrison Ward not far away—though he didn’t join the fight, he observed from the seafloor throughout.
The pollution on him persisted and would worsen the longer he remained underwater.
The matter of cleansing pollution mustn’t be delayed.
Samuel Chalrs fell silent for a mont, simply saying,
“Once I recover, I’ll return to cleanse the seawater of pollution.”
Pausing briefly, he added,
“Until then, Benedict Beast, please suppress it on my behalf.”
It wouldn’t take long.
With that half Vital Stone he possessed, he’d fully recover in just a few days.
Holding the Vital Stone, Samuel Chalrs tried to sense another person’s warmth on it, but evidently, it was impossible.
Cleansing the pollution is a pressing matter.
Her absence makes it easier.
…
Elsewhere, at the Hearne Clan residence.
This was where the Clan Leader resided; Aaron Hearne didn’t live here often, but spent a few days here every month.
Returning from the Ghost Fog Organization’s headquarters, he went straight back there.
When You Xuan arrived, she found him with his upper body bare, his chest pale yet firm, his muscles well-defined.
Though his sculpted body appeared striking, it bore a distinct wound.
A two-finger wide bloody hole pierced through his shoulder, the wound oozing blood, faintly shrouded with wisps of dark energy preventing its healing.
You Xuan frowned, stepped forward without a word, to expel the dark energy, then stopped the bleeding, treated the wound, applied dication, and bandaged him in one swift motion.
Wiping nonexistent sweat from her forehead, she asked him,
“How did you get hurt like this? Was that Ghost Fog mber really troubleso?”
“Indeed, a problem.”
Aaron Hearne unusually didn’t refute.
Over the years, he hadn’t been unaware of the Ghost Fog’s movents, but he hadn’t expected the person behind Ghost Fog to be this challenging.
And more challenging was what he saw on the screen in his room before their confrontation—the broadcast of Scarlett Jennings battling the Hydra.
They all witnessed her manifest the Hydra Specter at that mont and, within a short ti, successfully transform into a Six-tailed…
He saw firsthand the glint in that man’s eyes when the Hydra Specter’s eyes lit up.
Aaron Hearne suspected that man might have set his sights on her.
Given Scarlett Jennings’ evident talent, surpassing anyone in the clan, even himself.
And yet, she was Magnolia Hearne’s daughter.
If their mother knew…
He probably wouldn’t be able to protect her.
…
In Sea City, at dusk.
Dashiell, against the last rays of sunset, finally managed to safely bring Scarlett Jennings back to the Jennings Family residence.
Landing in the Jennings Family garden and transforming back to human form, they were spotted by Grandma Jennings, who was brushing Pretty Hamilton in the garden.
Grandma Jennings was stunned to see a creature like a snake or a dragon descending from the sky, and upon seeing Scarlett Jennings on the back of this little flood dragon, she was utterly bewildered.
After quite so ti, she stared dumbly at her long-lost granddaughter,
“You’ve… co back?”
Scarlett Jennings glanced at the brush in her grandmother’s hand and at Pretty Hamilton, who was struggling to pounce on her, and nodded calmly,
“Yes, I’m back.”
While Grandma Jennings hadn’t yet recovered from the shock of the little flood dragon transforming into a human, Magnolia Hearne, having sensed her presence ahead of ti, hurried over.
Behind her followed Luca Jennings and Donovan Jennings, evidently together earlier, and upon hearing she was back, they ca as well.
At the sight of them, Scarlett Jennings seed to suddenly find her heart, which had been aimlessly adrift all day, settling down.
As Magnolia Hearne quickly approached with concern already in her eyes, Scarlett’s nostrils inexplicably stung.
Her eyes ward, and all at once she stepped forward to hug her tightly.
Burying her head in her mother’s neck, after so ti, her voice hoarse, she said,
“Mom, I’m a little tired, want to rest.”
Magnolia Hearne felt the warmth in her neck, slightly stunned, then softly replied,
“Alright.
You rest, and Mom will watch over you.”
Saying this, she disregarded Grandma Jennings’s presence, as three fluffy, beautiful fox tails erged behind her, gently swaying as they enveloped herself and Scarlett completely.
Watching this unfold, Donovan Jennings bore no surprise.
His gaze rely fixated on Scarlett, enveloped within the fox tails, his peach blossom eyes deepened, a storm brewing within them.
