The reason the old ghost is called an old ghost is because he has been wandering the mortal realm for long enough.

A dozen years ago, that’s when Jeffrey Torres had just passed away.

The entire ghost of the old ghost was quite dejected, and while floating about aimlessly, he accidentally saw a woman sitting on a bridge, about to commit suicide.

The woman held a white chrysanthemum in her hand, her entire being exuding a sense of numbness with nothing left to live for.

Perhaps because of seeing the white chrysanthemums lining the long street for farewells, the old ghost saw the white chrysanthemum in the woman’s hand and instinctively pounced toward her.

Just as the woman threw the white chrysanthemum into the river and was about to jump, she felt a chilling wind sweep over the river with such force that it directly blew her off the railing back onto the ground.

The woman was sowhat bewildered, but just thought it was a gust of wind, and climbed back up the railing, wavering and trembling.

The old ghost took a breath and, seeing this, had no choice but to take another deep breath and blow toward the woman once more.

After two consecutive tis, the woman seed to finally realize sothing, and tears suddenly started falling down, as she whispered chokingly to the empty long street.

The old ghost followed his mory, recalling that the woman said —

"Brother... is that you?"

The old ghost widened his eyes again, with a look of astonishnt.

So at the ti, the woman actually mistook him for the... ghost spirit of Jeffrey Torres?

Wait, her suicide might also have been because Jeffrey Torres died, right?

Upon hearing that his sister was saved from a suicide, Jeffrey felt a pang of heartache, and at this mont, obviously also thought of the connection between his sister’s suicide attempt and his own car accident death and hurriedly looked at Scarlett Jennings.

Scarlett Jennings then briefly described what she found out about liora Torres’s life.

"She fled from her original ho and did not dare to return, at first working while inquiring about your news. She almost got tricked and trafficked to the mountains, but luckily escaped halfway, albeit to a completely unfamiliar environnt..."

liora could only keep working, trying to save money for the fare to go ho, and it was there she t another man.

The man was a little older, but very caring towards her, and was gentle and considerate on a daily basis.

For liora, who felt abandoned by her brother and never experienced paternal love, this was irresistible.

A year after they t, they got married locally, but after marriage, she discovered the man’s family were all vampires.

She had barely escaped one pitfall, only to fall into another.

Daily chores were endless, and her mother-in-law was harsh and picky, even the man who was once gentle and caring always oppressed her ntally. She beca timid and constrained under the constant oppression from the man and his family.

liora felt life was truly harsh.

It was around this ti she saw her brother, now a big celebrity.

She recognized him at first glance, her first thought was to find him.

But she accidentally overheard her brother-in-law and mother-in-law chatting about her brother, filled with admiration for his ability to earn money, and wishing he were a relative.

Her desire to find her brother was instantly quenched by those words.

Originally feeling abandoned, although she was resentful, upon seeing him escape from their ho and have such a great life, she felt happy for him.

He had finally achieved such a bright future, she couldn’t drag him back into another quagmire.

She chose to sink into the quagmire alone.

Until she heard the news of Jeffrey Torres’s death.

At that ti, she was nearly unable to cope with the exploitation from her husband’s family and the man, and the news of Jeffrey Torres’s death was undoubtedly the last straw.

She couldn’t care less, stole money, and boarded a bus to Capital tropolitan.

Eventually arriving in the city where her brother died, watching those mourn and cry for her brother’s passing.

Yet she, as his sister, was not even comparable to those people.

But she thought, at least she could choose to die in the sa city as her brother.

Maybe after dying and going to the Underworld, they could et below.

After being twice thwarted by the strange wind, she instinctively thought of her brother’s ghost spirit.

Though it was a misunderstanding, it made her abandon the thought of suicide back then.

Because she felt her brother didn’t want her to die.

So she lived on, no longer returning to her husband’s family, but stayed alone in Capital tropolitan, supporting herself through work.

And since she was saved on that bridge, she suspected her brother’s soul might be on that bridge, so every year, she would secretly place so offerings on the bridge.

Of course, those offerings were eaten by the old ghost over the years.

He didn’t know liora intended them for her brother, only thinking that each ti she ntioned brother, she ant him as the one who initially saved her.

Every year he ate contentedly.

Hearing all this, the old ghost felt a bit overwheld.

If liora initially mistook him for Jeffrey Torres’s spirit who saved her, and all these years has been thinking those offerings were for her brother, then what he has been eating all these years...

They were his idol’s offerings?!

Thinking this, the old ghost almost lost it right there.

At first, he ate the offerings for Jeffrey’s unburied spirit, and these years ate his sister’s offerings, all feeling entirely justified.

No wonder, no wonder Jeffrey is so thin even as a ghost.

All these years, he probably hasn’t eaten much, has he?!

He, he should be damned!

Jeffrey didn’t know of the old ghost’s disintegration inside, at this mont, his heart was entirely concerned with the fact that his sister was still alive.

He was even very grateful to the old ghost, if it weren’t for him saving his sister, he might really have only reunited with her in the Underworld.

Although unwilling to enter reincarnation alone due to dissatisfaction, if possible, he doesn’t want to see his sister’s spirit.

He prefers her to live well.

Thinking of this, Jeffrey couldn’t help but look at Scarlett Jennings, asking hoarsely,

"Is she, living well now? Has her husband’s family still been bothering her?"

From Scarlett Jennings’s narration, his sister didn’t live well those years.

On top of the years in their ho, she hardly lived a good life in the first half of her life.

How could this not make Jeffrey’s heart ache?

He hopes she can live well, even if he has to pay the price himself.

Scarlett Jennings heard the tentativeness in his voice, looked at him, and after a long ti, softly asked,

"If you want to know if she’s well now, you can go see for yourself."

One sentence made Jeffrey’s pupils tremble, and in the next second, his entire ghost seed a bit unsteady.

"Can, can I go?"

He’s a ghost now; if he goes, won’t the shadow energy on him affect her?

At this mont, he vaguely understood the old ghost’s initial fear of his shadow energy harming others.

Because he cares, he fears even more.

Scarlett can ruthlessly dispel an evil ghost, yet faces such cautious and gentle spirits without any annoyance.

Thus increasingly patient, she said aloud,

"As long as you want, you can go."

As for the influence of shadow energy, with her around, she certainly won’t let his sister be affected in the slightest.

Just treat it as...

Her forcibly summoning his spirit to complete the deal with the old ghost in return.
