"Nan Yu, wake up,"

"Nan Yu, wake up quickly, don’t sleep anymore."

...

Anxious voices echoed near her ears. Nan Yu frowned deeply and struggled to open her heavy eyelids to see the person in front of her.

Her lips were dry and peeling, her throat scratchy with a tallic taste, her voice extrely hoarse.

"Brother Ren..."

Ren Xingzhou looked at Nan Yu’s feverishly flushed face, took out a bottle of water and a fever-reducing pill from his bag.

"You have a high fever, take this pill first."

Nan Yu was still sowhat groggy and weak. She painfully pulled her hand from under the lion’s belly, took the pill, and gulped down a bottle of water.

Her voice was still hoarse, but her consciousness beca a bit clearer.

"Brother Ren, I thought I was going to die here."

Ren Xingzhou glanced at the three lions that were tightly surrounding Nan Yu and explained, "When I found you, they were protecting you thoroughly, keeping you warm, otherwise you would have frozen to death here,"

After speaking, he took out a new set of clothes from his backpack and handed them to Nan Yu.

"This is a new jacket I bought earlier, never worn. Put it on, and then I’ll take you back."

Nan Yu took the jacket. After taking the dicine, she felt a slight resurgence of strength in her body.

The innermost layer of clothing had dried quite a bit.

She then took off the still wet outer jacket, threw it on the ground, and put on the new, warm jacket.

Ren Xingzhou then handed over prepared raincoat and rain boots to Nan Yu.

"Put these on, we’ll head back first. Once the rain completely stops, I’ll take you to the hospital."

At that mont, it was no longer pouring heavily but a dense drizzle.

The blowing wind was still bitterly cold.

Nan Yu quickly put on the raincoat and rain boots, looking weakly at Ren Xingzhou.

"Let’s go, Brother Ren."

As she took her first step, she felt a tugging on her clothing hem. Looking down, she saw the Lion King had bitten onto one corner, not letting her leave.

Nan Yu was slightly stunned and asked it, "You don’t want to go?"

The next second, she saw the Lion King lower its head and lay flat on the ground, letting out a whining sound.

Seeing this, Ren Xingzhou’s eyes widened with even more surprise.

"Nan Yu, Wu Jiu wants you to get on. It’s the first ti I’ve seen it willing to let soone ride it, even the lady couldn’t get close without it snarling, let alone ride it."

"But now, not only has it been protecting you without harming you, but it is also asking you to sit on its back. What did you do to it last night?"

Nan Yu pursed her lips, staring at the broad lion’s back, a flash of confusion crossing her eyes.

"I didn’t do anything."

Ren Xingzhou grew even more puzzled, "Then why do Xiao Ba and Wu Jiu like you so much?"

Nan Yu shook her head, "I don’t know."

Seeing that Nan Yu remained still for a long ti, Wu Jiu issued a low growl, as if urging her to co up.

"Growl growl~"

Seeing this, Ren Xingzhou temporarily set his doubts aside and told her, "Nan Yu, since you’re weak now, just ride on Wu Jiu, and let it take you back."

From here to the road was also quite a long distance, and with her current physical condition, she might not be able to walk it.

Nan Yu nodded gently, slowly climbed onto Wu Jiu’s back, her entire body resting against it.

Just as she settled down, before she could even speak, the lion beneath her moved.

The next second, Nan Yu saw that Wu Jiu didn’t run towards the mountain road but sprinted deeper into the dense forest.

Ren Xingzhou was stunned on the spot.

"Wu Jiu, where are you taking Nan Yu? Co back!"

Nan Yu felt the lion beneath her speeding up.

In the blink of an eye, Ren Xingzhou’s figure had already disappeared from view!
