The rain drizzled down in the deep forest, the loud wind whistling in her ears.

Nan Yu pulled the hood of her raincoat tight and lowered her body as much as possible to avoid the cold wind.

She held onto Wu Jiu’s neck firmly, silently watching where it would take her.

She didn’t know how long had passed before Wu Jiu finally stopped.

Nan Yu slowly lifted her head and realized she was in a dark cave, pitch-black, where she could see nothing.

"Roar~"

Wu Jiu let out a slow roar and lay down.

Nan Yu got off its back, her fingers touching the dry cave wall, securing her stance.

Wu Jiu, able to see her in the dark, nudged her forward with its big head.

Nan Yu’s world was enveloped in darkness, her ears becoming incredibly sensitive. Listening carefully, she could hear the sound of agonized whimpers coming from the deepest part of the cave.

She followed the cave wall with her right hand, cautiously moving forward.

Her left hand reached into her raincoat pocket, fumbling around, and pulled out a lighter.

She imdiately lit the lighter, the small fla barely illuminating the space before her.

"Whimper~"

The sound grew closer and clearer.

Soon, aided by the faint light, Nan Yu saw a pure white lioness lying at the end of the cave.

The whimpers were coming from its embrace.

Nan Yu moved the fla closer to the lioness’s embrace and saw two baby lions that had just turned two months old, one white and one gold, weakly closing their eyes and emitting pitiful whimpers.

"Wu Jiu, do you want to save them?" she asked.

Wu Jiu nudged her with its head, answering her question.

"Roar~"

Nan Yu crouched down and saw dry branches on the ground, promptly lighting them with the lighter.

Three minutes later, the whole cave was bright.

Nan Yu could finally see everything clearly.

The lioness’s right leg was still bleeding, and Wu Jiu kept licking the wound.

All of the lioness’s attention was on the two cubs in her arms, constantly licking their fur, trying to revive their spirits.

But it had no effect; instead, the cubs grew weaker and their cries fainter.

Nan Yu bit her lip and urgently said, "Don’t touch them, let see what’s wrong with these kids."

After speaking, she reached out to pick up the weakest of the two cubs, the little white lion.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she touched it, the lioness bared her teeth at Nan Yu, emitting a fierce roar.

"Roar!"

It was warning her not to touch its babies!

Nan Yu licked her cracked lips, enduring a headache as she explained, "I want to save your children, not hurt them."

Wu Jiu also vouched for Nan Yu, roaring, "Roar roar—"

The lioness turned and roared back at Wu Jiu.

Both lions communicated back and forth with roars.

Nan Yu focused on the two cubs, noting that their breathing was nearly stopping.

She could no longer hold back and said, "I don’t care if you understand , but if you don’t let help, they’re going to die!"

The lioness and Wu Jiu seed to understand the gravity of that statent, both instantly looking at the two cubs in their embrace.

Wu Jiu gently roared at the lioness.

The lioness, tears in her dark eyes, silently moved her limbs aside and pushed the two cubs in front of Nan Yu. In her hopeful gaze, there was a hint of warning.

Nan Yu quickly reached out, checking the pulse of the cubs.

In less than half a minute, her expression turned grave. She swiftly took out Silver Needle, located a few acupoints, and inserted the needles.

She then looked up at Wu Jiu and said, "Wu Jiu, if you want to save your children, go bring Ren Xingzhou here too."
