213: Chapter 211: Why Run?

213: Chapter 211: Why Run?

The stench of blood in the air made Lu Jin sniff fiercely a few tis before he wrinkled his brow—indeed, the blood of beasts was foul.

While Su Mo was hacking wolves, she also had to endure Lu Jin’s nakedly dangerous gaze, wanting to tear her apart and devour her.

She suddenly regretted not killing him on the rocky beach.

The howls of the wolves rose and fell, each louder than the last, startling Su Mo.

Lu Jin, leisurely, said, “They are summoning the Wolf King.”

“Like I need you to tell ,” Su Mo snarled back at him, “I should have killed you on the rocky beach.”

Lu Jin’s face darkened, and he glared at her violently, as if agitated, “Then why did you save at that ti?”

Su Mo was genuinely taken aback this ti.

As she t his gaze, beneath his eyes was a storm, “What did you say?!”

Before she could react, the vines around Lu Jin were completely shredded, and without ti to run, Su Mo was pulled by him through a space rift torn open on the tree trunk.

“Roar!”

A splendid silver figure appeared on the tree trunk, with robust limbs and fur that glinted silver under the moonlight.

In its profound pupils was rage, hot air spewed from its wolfish maw, fangs bared.

Its majestic posture unmistakenly revealed the Wolf King!

Su Mo, along with her blade, was thrown into the bushes.

Lu Jin gave her a ferocious glance, then with a brutal aura, he launched himself at the approaching wolf pack.

He needed to vent, he had to kill them in order to quell the fury in his heart, he had to keep himself from breaking her throat right away.

Facing suppression in Level, the lower-ranked Mutant Wolves stood no chance.

Without the rib injury, Lu Jin could thrust his hand into a Mutant Wolf’s chest and yank out its heart, throwing it on the ground, then crushing it rcilessly.

Su Mo’s mind was in a haze, followed by a startling speculation—this could actually be the past, not an illusion!

She might have truly been brought to the past by the flagellated algae!

If that was the case, why did she have a conscience and rescue him from the water!

The more she thought about it, the darker her face grew.

If she had let him die back then, perhaps he wouldn’t exist anymore right now.

The bodies of wolves piled higher and higher.

Whimpers continued endlessly.

Unable to restrain itself any longer, the Wolf King as the alpha leapt from the tree, lunging at Lu Jin with a large Thunder Ball forming in its mouth.

The crackling of electricity snapped Su Mo back to reality.

She stood up from the ground, gripping her blade and dodging one electrified ball after another.

Several Mutant Wolves pounced at her.

Su Mo had no ti to watch his side; she focused on killing the wolves surrounding her.

Their sharp, ferocious fangs aid at her as they leapt.

Surrounded by five wolves, Su Mo found herself in dire straits.

Their speed was great; even though she used her superpower, the wolves’ natural advantage still significantly challenged her.

She jumped onto a tree and climbed a few steps upwards then, as the wolves leapt at her, she sorsaulted down to face one, driving the chilly Tang Blade into one’s eye, piercing through its brain and killing it instantly.

She yanked its body down, throwing it at another Mutant Wolf rushing toward her.

It collided squarely, whining as it fell.

Without hesitation, Su Mo pounced, beheading it with a swift slash as it dropped to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, two were dead.

She stood on the soft, furry corpse, the blade dripping with blood, her eyes coldly fixed on the remaining three wolves.

With an excruciatingly mournful howl, Su Mo turned her head to see Lu Jin holding a lump of brain matter with a Crystal Stone shimring silver inside.

The Wolf King’s massive body collapsed with a crash.

The Wolf King died, and the remaining wolves, without exception, tucked their tails and fled without looking back.

The sll of blood was too intense all around.

Su Mo glanced at Lu Jin, who was in the eye of the storm, raging.

Although she had many questions, this man was too dangerous right now, it was better for her to avoid him and wait until he cald down before speaking.

Just as Su Mo turned to leave, an unpredictable voice sounded from behind her, “Where do you think you’re going?”

Without turning her head, she leaned forward and imdiately called upon her superpower to run away.

The jungle behind her quickly receded, but then the space in front of her fluctuated.

She couldn’t stop in ti and was gripped by the neck by Lu Jin, who had erged from it.

She was pinned against a tree trunk, her gaze eting his dark eyes flashing with intent to kill.

The Tang Blade she was about to grab and swing was caught by his hand and held behind her.

Lu Jin moved closer to her, his face almost touching hers, “Why are you running?”

Her face turned red from his grip, and as if he noticed her discomfort, Lu Jin loosened his hold, only pressing against her as he repeated in an unclear tone, “Why are you running?”

With no choice but to look up at him, Su Mo retorted, “If I don’t run, I’ll be waiting to die!”

Lu Jin observed her for a mont and then suddenly leaned down and deeply inhaled at her neck, “So fragrant.”

Su Mo’s hairs stood on end, “What are you doing!”

What followed was the man biting down hard on her neck.

“Hiss!” The suppression of levels ant Su Mo had no way to resist.

She was almost green with regret; she would have preferred to fight her way through Mutant Beasts than rely on this man to get out.

As he tasted blood, Lu Jin, obsessed, flicked out his tongue to lick it and muttered sothing incomprehensible, “No wonder.”

No wonder he so desperately craved her blood, no wonder he found her scent so appealing.

That twisted and abnormal desire was because of her.

“Lu Jin!

You’re freaking twisted!” Su Mo struggled violently like an enraged little beast.

Lu Jin’s grip on her hands suddenly tightened, his strength nearly crushing her wrists, “Isn’t this thanks to you?”

As she let out a pained grunt, his grip loosened, but he still confined her, preventing her from moving.

Su Mo looked up at him, her eyes filled with confusion, “Was I a part of your past?”

Even as naive as she was, sothing felt wrong.

From the first ti she had seen Lu Jin, whenever his gaze t hers, it was always strange, but it had never caused her as much terror as it did now.

But she was also very unclear about it all, and then she said, “Lu Jin, I thought the flagellated algae only gave an illusion.

If saving your life is considered harm, then I have nothing to say.”

“Do you know why I wanted to sink to the bottom?” The man’s lips rubbed against her ear, as if he was ready to bite off her ear at any mont.

He was admitting it, Su Mo understood.

Everything she saw, everything that happened, was real.

She felt that the phrase “green with regret” was no longer sufficient to express her remorse.

Nevertheless, she followed his lead and asked, “Why?”

“I wanted to see you,” Lu Jin’s breath sprayed on her ear, slling it as if it were a deliciously fragrant dish of at.

Because at that ti she was a ‘ghost’, had he deliberately waited to be pushed into the pool by Li Chuan, just to see her?
