"Grandma, I rember I have sothing to do..."

Grandma i nodded and she was stunned to see the girl’s turning pale and rushed out, "Little Lady, where are you going!" Grandma i was shocked and wanted to chase Chunhua but the latter was so fast to run away. The old woman could only remained staring at the sea of people.

Did she say sothing wrong? Grandma i asked herself, muddled.

When Haoran ca back from doing so errands, he didn’t see Chunhua inside the shop and only Grandma i sitting on one of the seats and looking at the entrance in a daze.

Sensing another presence, Grandma i sighed.

"I’m sorry, Xiao Ran. I didn’t know you didn’t tell truthfully about your na and I blurted it out and your girl just run out. This chatty old mouth of mine should have been quiet. Aiguo." Grandma i apologized sincerely and her expression was of downcast.

Haoran stiffened, rembered the first encounter where he had to lie about it due to the circumstances and didn’t bla Grandma i, "It’s my fault. Grandma doesn’t need to make yourself accountable. Does Grandma know which direction she went?"

"I don’t know where she went." Grandma i stood up from her seat, walked outside and looked around.

There were a lot of people outside and amongst them were students in the sa highschool Therefore it was difficult for Haoran to see any trace of Xiao Hua. It would be finding a needle in a haystack.

"Wait, Xiao Ran!" Grandma i stopped the youth from leaving empty-handed, went to the counter and packed Haoran with a box of Qiaoguo molded into lock charms.

She returned the money they paid and gave so snacks.

Haoran didn’t want them at first but Grandma i patted his hand. "Take them and give it to the girl." She brushed the youth’s face and reprimanded with a saddened look and gentle tone, "I don’t know for why reason that you lied but if you like soone, don’t lie to them. If I was in her place, if my man lies to , he would be in for a huge scolding. You ca off lightly."

"Was she angry?" That question ca out of Haoran’s mouth and if one was discerning enough, they could hear the trembling in his voice indicating his disinterested expression was a façade.

"She’s not but she was just startled." Grandma i rubbed the youth’s hand to warm him because of how cold it was.

Haoran silently took the snacks, the paper bags containing the bunnies, and other things Xiao Hua left.

Before he went he heard Grandma i’s says, "If two are destined, you’ll et eventually just like Zhi Nv and Niulang."

On the way, Haoran thought of a lot of things.

He was going to confess but he thought it shouldn’t be necessary.

Thinking about it, just like what Grandma i said, he should also feel resentnt if this had happen to him because it only indicates that the other side didn’t trust him fully.

Could it be that this was Xiao Hua felt?

Haoran glanced at the white and blur porcelain thin pastries inside the paper bag in deep thought.

He knew he screwed up.

----

On the opposite side of the lake...

"Little Lady! I can see the dark clouds between your brows. You will experience misfortune soon! I have charm talisman that can ward off bad luck. For 9.99 yuan, you can get a set of day and night of lucky charms. So how about it? Are you buying?"

A beady eyed bald monk dressed in brown robe with a whisk in his left hand stopped Chunhua and went to fish out so yellow paper with red markings on it from his worn-out sling bag.

"I don’t have money." Chunhua replied. The only ten yuan in her possession was spent hours ago.

The mont she said that, the enthusiastic expression on the monk’s face disappeared. Oh it’s another poor fellow. The yellow papers wilted like dead grass.

Just as he was about to walk off, a hand gripped his left arm, pinning him in place.

"Uncle, can I talk to you for a few minutes?" Chunhua asked. Seeing his attire, he had the better chance to take her words seriously.

"I don’t have ti." The monk tried to yank the girl’s hand off but as if it was a bolt, he couldn’t move her fingers at all. His face scrunched up when he tried to use all his strength but still failed.

How can she be so strong when she’s barely an adult?!

"I’ll shout if you don’t let go!" Panting, the monk resorted to other ways and fortunately Chunhua complied.

"Uncle, I won’t take all your ti. It’s just a few minutes. And aren’t colleagues supposed to help each other out? You’re hurting my feelings." Chunhua mumbled in sad expression.

What colleagues is she talking about? The monk was so utterly confused. You’re a high school student and he’s a forty monk who works in a temple! Where are we colleagues? He shook his head.

"I have to raise money for the temple. There are a lot of children waiting for to feed them. Now you see I don’t have even a few minutes to spareeee-" The last few words were said in a whisper as the monk saw a 100 yuan bill gliding in the wind and landing on the girl’s right cheek.

"..." He blinked. There’s only less than a ter between them. Why didn’t that money land on him?! Just why?! The wind had so much discrimination!

Out of reflex, Chunhua caught the thing and was startled when she saw the bill. An idea struck her head, "Now do you have ti?"

The monk’s attitude took a 180-degree turn as he took the bill and stuffed it inside his bag, "Benefactor! I was just kidding monts ago. Of course I have! What do you want to talk to this humble monk? Don’t worry Benefactor, I have a Degree in Psychosomatic Listening Departnt, you can pour your heart out and I won’t tell a soul." The monk patted his chest and put on a usual business benevolent smile.

Chunhua suddenly rembered her money-loving Senior Sister in him.

The two found an empty bench and started talking.

"Uncle, it’s like this..." Chunhua narrated the plot of the novel she read, but changed the nas of the characters, and other things including Chef Long’s matter before asking the old man what would he do in that situation?
