The Cannon Fodder in the Global Apocalypse Game lives a leisurely life Chapter 367: Qixi Festival (3)
The one receiving custors saw Haoran staring inside. His expression was stern and it was hard to read what he was thinking.
But to his surprise, Haoran actually approached the counter and asked if there are still an available spot inside.
The server instantly stated the price albeit a little hesitant because the quoted price of the workshop is expensive.
Very few couples choose to avail and only bough ready-made ones. When he suggest for the owner to lower the price, she rejected his request saying that the ingredients were of high quality. "Yes, there still space and it cost 300 yuan."
Haoran quickly paid the price and the server was very surprised and let the two in a vacant table. "Custor, once you’re done, there is a painting table with edible paints and gifts section right there you can use to package your qiaoguo."
These were also one of the reasons for expensive price.
(A/N: Qiaoguo, also known as qiqiao guozi (fruit) or qiaobing (cake), is made using three main ingredients; oil, flour and sugar. The fragrant and sweet pastry dough is then moulded into different shapes and decorated with elegant patterns and decorative figures.)
When the old woman saw Haoran, she was very surprised and the expression on her face beca even brighter, "Xiao Ran!" She called out before walking towards the youth.
Haoran stay rooted on his place when he saw the familiar face, "Grandma i." His guess was right. It was Grandma i but he didn’t expect to see her here in City Z.
"Xiao Ran, what a coincidence. It’s only been a year and you’ve grown up a lot." Grandma i cupped Haoran’s face gently. "I see you’re doing well, by the way, where’s Zurui?"
Xiao Ran?
Zurui?
That na is so familiar. Chunhua’s brows furrowed.
Haoran smiled. "I didn’t know it was Qixi. He’s at the stall."
"Stall?" The old woman was confused at first until he realized what Haoran was trying to say. "You boy, won’t it hurt for you to say a few more words?" She patted his hair and sent him a loving gaze.
"Well, that’s too bad. Zurui should co and enjoy Qixi too." Grandma i was used to the youth’s limited response and wasn’t concern about it. He was a man few words but when it cos to action, the youth in front of her was most tenacious and hardworking person she t.
Haoran thought of his Brother. If today was Qixi, he should be with his friends and avoiding Catfishing. He had no idea that Zurui had a habit of fishing.
Because of the pleasant surprise of seeing Haoran, Grandma i only noticed that there was a girl accompanying the youth, "This is?"
"Her na is Li Chunhua. She’s my..." Haoran was interrupted.
"...Friend." Chunhua thought the Chef Long would address her as employer which would cause suspicion and therefore intervened.
In a sudden, Grandma i had a knowing look. This was the first ti this boy was close to a young female and it didn’t take so much of the old woman’s brain cells to figure out what’s going on but she rely laugh.
Oho. Would you look at that? Is the winter finally gone and welcoming the arrival of spring?
"Grandma, the supplies are here!" The shopkeeper shouted.
"Excuse first." Grandma i was about to go but Haoran stopped her.
"I’ll go." He saw a group of n delivered boxes and crates near the entrance and volunteered.
"Then, I’ll leave it to you." Grandma i didn’t stand on ceremony and didn’t reject the help, "Xiao Ran, leave the crates on the back of the tent."
"Alright."
After Haoran was gone, Grandma i invited the girl to seat. Chunhua was also about to help but the old woman held her hands, pinning her in the sa spot, "Leave the task to the boys."
"By the way, how long have you known Xiao Ran?" Grandma i was bit curious since the Xiao Ran never interacted with a girl of his age. He was very cold towards girls probably because of that pair of mother and daughter ostracizing and mistreating him and his brother.
"Less than two weeks." Chunhua counted the days and answered truthfully albeit she was very curious about two things.
"Less than two weeks?" Grandma i was in disbelief. "Little Lady, are you sure that it is less than two week and not two years?"
"Yes, Grandma." Chunhua nodded. "Hold on Grandma, why do you call him Xiao Ran and who’s Zurui?"
Shouldn’t it be Xiao San?
That’s how Chunhua perceived it to be since Chef Long calls her Xiao Hua and the latter’s first na was San.
So why Xiao Ran?
"Why won’t I call him Xiao Ran? Isn’t his na Haoran? And you haven’t t his brother, Zurui?" Grandma i was confused and elaborated.
Chunhua was stupefied. As if a bucket of ice cold water was doused on her, she stood rooted on the spot. "Haoran? Is Grandma saying Chef Long’s na is Haoran and he has a brother nad Long Zurui?"
"Of course, furthermore, you call him Chef Long? What a cute na." Grandma i had a hearty laugh. It’s the first ti she heard that but it fits Haoran though because that cold munchkin is looking like a creditor all day.
Can’t bla him after all he’s gone through.
Chunhua’s mind was blank and all kind of ’What on Dumpling’s World is going on!’ is surging inside her head.
Long Haoran?!
The male protagonist of the novel she read?!
Isn’t his na Long San! The na on her resident list is also Long San!
How could this be?
’My brother and I were orphan and adopted by a foster family...’
’We had a rough childhood...’
She had been cautious from the beginning but the protagonist was actually with her.
Now it made sense, the sudden difficulty in the missions, the abrupt screw up situations, the part where she t so many powerful foes, it was because of the protagonist halo!
Chunhua was overwheld with the discovery and her brain decided to shut down.
"I...I...." All she can muster amidst her cluttered thoughts.
