The amusent in Zyair’s eyes was growing the more Skyla was drinking. This wasn’t the first ti he would be seeing her drunk and he knew she tended to beco too cute in her drunken state.
"Mr. Zyair, you remind of Sky’s favourite ani character?" Huria had taken it upon herself to reveal everything about her friend today.
"Is that so? And who that might be?" he asked in an amused voice, his mischievous eyes stayed on Skyla as she watched him from the rim of her glass with keen interest.
"Kakashi Hatake! You know the mask and all that mysterious aura," Huria pointed her index finger towards him and drew a circle.
"Well, Kakashi is an admirable character. Miss Skyla has a very fine choice," he praised and Skyla blushed crimson and lowered her eyes.
No way was she ready to picture her boss in a Kakashi costu but her alcohol-induced brain and her overactive imagination painted a very sinful and yet delicious picture and she had to fill her glass again.
’One more glass and I will be out of all the senses,’ she promised herself and looked anywhere but at Mr. Zyair, whose eyes hardly wavered from her. He took it all in, her shy glances and awkward sips when Kakashi was ntioned.
The conversation kept flowing until both the ladies were too drunk, Zyair called it a night.
"We will drop you off. Can you ladies walk?"
Both of them got up and wobbled a bit. Zyair found this comical especially watching Skyla steady herself on the high heels she wore for today’s event. He stayed behind her in case she fell as Lawrence helped them get down to the parking lot and inside Zyair’s car.
Zyair opened the back door of his car for Skyla and her head spun as she tried to settle herself inside the car as elegantly as possible. Her reddened cheeks were so tempting that Zyair’s hands itched to pull them but he restrained himself.
Lawrence helped Huria. "Thank you! You are so cute." Huria pulled his cheek and giggled as she propped herself on the lush interior of the car.
Zyair stood a few feet away and burst out laughing, throwing his head back. Once Lawrence had tucked both the ladies in, he turned to his boss with a significantly annoyed look. His hands rested on his hips as he tapped his right foot and raised an eyebrow.
"Awww! Cute little Lawrence is irked," Zyair jovially teased him, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"It was your brilliant idea to let them get drunk," Lawrence accused, his nostrils flaring like an angry bull.
"Don’t accuse . You are the one who served them such strong drinks that they got so drunk so quickly."
"Well, Miss Skyla asked for sothing strong. She said she wanted to get drunk and just forget the worries for a night. Being married is not easy, I have seen my mother struggle. Miss Skyla must be wishing to have one peaceful night without having to worry." Lawrence shrugged his shoulders.
"You are right. Let’s get them ho now, cutie Lawrence," Zyair teased again.
"Don’t you dare say this in front of Bitu. You give too much ammunition to that parrot."
Lawrence shook his head while walking towards the driver’s seat. His neat sneakers made no noise on the concrete floor.
"I will think about it," Zyair made his way to the passenger seat and draped himself on the plush black leather seat.
Lawrence started the car and Huria shared her location with Lawrence, he set the GPS and off they went.
The chirping of ladies had died down as the alcohol took its effect and they both beca sleepy. By the ti they arrived at Huria’s location, she was about half asleep.
"Miss Huria, we are here," Lawrence announced while parking the car outside her house and she sleepily blinked.
"Oh! We reached, so soon. Lawrence, you are such a cute but adept driver," she blew him a flying kiss, embarrassing him, and turning his ears red. Zyair chortled a heavy laugh.
"Thank you for the event and for dropping off Mr. Zyair. You are an embodint of perfection. Angel City needs more n like you," she offered her sincere gratitude.
"No problem at all, Miss Huria. Have a good night." Zyair slightly nodded his head at her.
"Bye, Sky. I love you girl. This was fun, we should do it again whenever that obnoxious piece of shit you call husband is out of town."
She hugged Skyla and blurted out loudly for both Lawrence and Zyair to hear. Skyla was now too drunk to notice their reactions as she only laughed in a hollowed manner and slurred. "We should, we shoulddddd."
Lawrence was a bit surprised, hearing such a dislike for Doran and he wondered what must the man have done to earn such titles from such a high-spirited lady.
"Let help you." Lawrence offered his hand which Huria gladly took and let him guide her to the front porch. She searched her bag for the keys and whisking them out slightly struggled to get them in the keyhole.
Lawrence took the keys from her and unlocked the door for her. She clapped happily as if it was a mammoth task.
"I wish I could adopt you Lawri, you are my younger brother from now on. If you ever need anything, call your big sista," she proudly pointed to herself and Lawrence bit his lower lip to stifle a boisterous laugh. Instead, he stated and as well as instructed.
"Yes! Ma’am, good night. Please lock your door."
"Good night, Lawri." she waved at him and he waited till Huria was inside and he heard the clicking sound of the door locking.
Turning around he quietly walked back to the car and took his seat. But the passenger seat was empty.
Alard, Lawrence peeked a look back from the rearview mirror and was stunned into silence at the sight that t his eyes. He wanted to look away but he couldn’t until he found Zyair’s ocean blues on him.
