The event ended around 11 pm but Skyla had no intentions of going ho and soberly facing Doran, if he even ca ho. Seeing him with Karen earlier made her feel inadequate and she wondered ti and again.
What was it that she lacked and Karen had? The pool of desires that ford deep inside her was becoming impossible to ignore every day. The need to be explored like an island of adventures was surfacing like a tempest, and Skyla knew if caution was not practised she would be ruined.
So when Huria prompted her to get drunk tonight, she couldn’t resist the temptation. Knowing it was highly unlikely that Doran would co ho and even if he did, what was there to lose than what she already had?
Zyair had called Lawrence to keep his private lounge open so ladies could have their drinks there.
Best friends excitedly chatted as they exited the elevator and Skyla guided her towards the place where she had lunch with her boss. The liquor cabinet and bar she had been seeing there every day were about to be put to use.
They entered to find Lawrence lingering around the bar waiting for them in a bartender style.
"Welco ladies, how may I serve you?" he said, lining the counter with glasses.
"Hey! Kiddo, are you even of legal age to be handling alcohol?" Huria questioned with her brows creased together, as she sauntered over to him and settled on the barstool.
"I can assure you ma’am, I am. I got my driver’s license and drinking license as well. Now let show you my bartender skills," he took a bottle and flipped it in his left hand while stylishly catching it with his right and slamming it on the polished counter below.
"Not bad little boy, I would like a martini, stirred not shaken, add lots of olives," she cocked her brow at him as Skyla sat down beside her, smiling at their interaction.
"Lawrence and are the ones who work closely with Mr. Zyair on this floor. He is a great help," Skyla inford her friend as she asked for the strongest drink from Lawrence.
"I am excited for our companies to work together. We would get to see each other more." Huria confided in her friend.
Lawrence placed Huria’s glass on a coaster and added a few olives.
"Here, you go ma’am," he offered with a slight smirk.
"Hurah!" She exclaid and picked up the glass, before taking a sip. Her eyes widened at the perfect taste, "Not bad at all." She offered Lawrence a thumbs-up and he chuckled before proceeding to prepare Skyla’s drink.
"Make it strong Lawrence and add sothing which will let relax for tonight," Skyla’s words had him nodding. He knew what he needed to do. Work and married life could be tense and people always sought out drinks which would make them forget what they had done in their drunken stupor.
"This place is sick," Huria replied in fervour, taking in the rich interior and expensive liquor. The decorations were tasteful.
"Yes, Mr. Zyair and before him, Mr. Kincaid was very particular about it," Lawrence added while serving Skyla her drink.
They conversed so more when the door handle dipped and it slowly opened, revealing Zyair’s perfectly toned fra entering through it.
The girls tried to stand up but he gestured for them to remain seated.
"Please! Enjoy your drinks. I am just here for the company." His long legs elegantly took him to the leather recliner at the side of the room and he majestically settled down. His gloved hands rested on the armrest, his fingers slowly drumming it.
Both of them turned slightly so they could face him. Lawrence placed a few liquor bottles close to the ladies and took his drink to join Zyair on the recliner.
"You are driving today so don’t drink more than one glass," Zyair spoke to him in a bare whisper and he nodded.
The conversation flowed between them from the event to ani which all four of them were avid fans of.
About five drinks later, both ladies were utterly drunk. Huria placed her head on Skyla’s shoulder and slurred out what she thought was a low voice but it was clear enough to be heard across the room.
"Your comic can have a character like Mr. Zyair, all mysterious, calm and desirable."
Lawrence threw his head back and laughed at her words while Zyair was wholly intrigued. His ears perked up.
Did she write comics?
"Shhh, I can’t be talking about my side job here," Skyla childishly chided her and Zyair couldn’t contain his curiosity. He wanted to pry.
"What comic Miss Skyla? Elaborate please." Her cheeks instantly tinted red from alcohol as well as having found out this way. Before she could make so excuse Huria began to babble.
"Oh! You don’t know. She is so talented in drawing characters. She is collaborating with an online reading app Webnovel and creating her own comic."
Skyla was blushing to her roots now, the embarrassnt was real.
This was news to Zyair and he mouthed in a very low-pitched voice to Lawrence.
"Download the app on my phone." Before turning his attention to the gorgeously talented woman in front of him and asking with a slight tilt of his head.
"The na of the comic would be?"
"The Forgotten Tales of One Winged Angel."
Huria chirruped, taking another swig of her sixth drink. She was drunk to her bones and had no clue what she was saying anymore.
Skyla wanted the ground to open and engulf her, she slunk low in her seat, trying to disappear.
Lawrence quickly searched for the title and it was there. Written by soone nad Sky. He showed it to Zyair, who knew Skyla’s nickna.
"Add it to my library and not a word about it to anyone. This stays between us. Not even Miss Skyla can know about this," his firm voice was barely a whisper, Lawrence nodded and did as he was told.
Skyla downed another glass from the special bottle Lawrence had left her. Hoping that this was all in her drunken stupor and she was only imagining Huria spilling her beans.
No way was she prepared for her boss to see the semi-naked angelic being she had created as her ML.
