Seeking an audience with a Supre Councilman was not going smoothly.
The divine’s sudden attack and the rapid changes in the war situation had put the entire Supre Council into high gear.
Neustadt’s Supre Council Hall was now under martial law, unlike its usual deserted appearance, the hall was now filled with a large number of wizards hurrying about.
A tense atmosphere enveloped every corner.
Colin arrived at the hall, intending to request an audience with the Supre Councilman through the secret chamber connected to Cloud Hall, as he had before.
But when he made his way to the chamber’s entrance, he found the door tightly shut and two wizards standing guard beside it.
He paused for a mont, then stepped forward.
"May I ask if it’s possible to see the Supre Councilman now? I have a very important matter that needs..."
"Sorry, Councilman," the wizard on the right shook his head,
"According to the rules, only Great Counciln have the privilege to directly contact the Supre Councilman. If you have an urgent matter, please contact a Great Councilman you know first."
"It’s a very important matter... it may concern the divine."
"Sorry, those are the rules, Councilman," the guard wizard still shook his head, his attitude resolute.
The Supre Counciln’s energies are limited, and right now, their attention is especially precious.
Just presenting so-called important news to get direct access to the Supre Counciln clearly wasn’t going to work.
Colin felt a slight heaviness in his heart, knowing that continuing the conversation would be a waste of effort.
After a mont of contemplation, he turned and walked towards Nois’s office.
But just like the secret chamber, Nois’s office door was also closed shut.
Colin tried knocking on the door... as expected, there was no response.
Thinking about it made sense; with the war situation being so complex, Neustadt’s hall, which was in the rear, was this busy—frontline conditions could only be worse—how could Nois have ti to co back.
Colin sighed inwardly and lowered his gaze.
’Could it be that I can only travel to rredith City via the Transmission Array and seek Lord Test’s help in contacting the Supre Councilman?’
Just as he was thinking this, out of the corner of his eye, Colin caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.
"Lord Silvester!"
Colin’s eyes brightened, and he hurriedly called out, quickly making his way over.
"Colin... what are you doing here?"
Silvester stopped in his tracks and turned to look at him, a frown of lingering irritation on his brow.
Colin knew that the irritation was not directed at him... but even Silvester showing such an expression suggested that the current war situation was perhaps even more critical than he had imagined.
"How has Tilaii Plain been recently? Has Shelley returned?"
Silvester hid the irritation on his face and asked with a smile.
"The Plain is normal, and Shelley has returned," Colin responded, then stated concisely, "Lord Silvester, do you have a way to contact the Supre Councilman? I need to see the Supre Councilman now."
Although Silvester was not a Councilman, as a Fourth Rank Wizard, he might be able to help him.
"Contact the Supre Councilman... As a Councilman, don’t you have a channel to contact the Supre Councilman?" Silvester asked in wonder.
"Now only Great Counciln can directly contact the Supre Councilman, ordinary Counciln cannot."
Colin shook his head, thought for a mont, and then said, "I discovered a peculiar spherical creature deep in the cave, with strength at least of the Fourth Rank, possessing powerful teleportation abilities.
Moreover, I’ve also found what I suspect to be the source of the previous farmland contamination..."
Silvester’s expression tightened, and after a pause, he said, "Co with ."
Monts later.
Silvester led him to a Witch in a red robe.
The Witch had white hair, a dignified appearance, and looked to be of considerable age, with fine lines at the corners of her eyes, but this did not detract from her beautiful aura.
She was sitting at a desk imrsed in paperwork, and the shining badge on her chest indicated her status as a Great Councilwoman.
"Philis, help out, this Wizard has an important matter that requires contacting the Supre Councilman."
Silvester knocked and entered, getting straight to the point.
Philis glanced up at him; Silvester shifted his gaze uncomfortably away, then feeling that was inappropriate, he quickly shifted it back and said without changing his expression,
"It concerns vital intelligence about the divine, and we need to see the Supre Councilman imdiately."
Philis was about to tease him, but upon hearing the words Silvester added, her expression suddenly beca serious. After looking at Colin, she imdiately stood up and said,
"Let’s go, I’ll take you there."
"Thank you, Lord," Colin said with a respectful bow.
He should have felt a sense of relief at finally being able to see the Supre Councilman, but at that mont, he experienced an inexplicable surge of urgency.
Ti was of the essence...
With that thought, they had reached the door of the secret chamber. Colin pursed his lips slightly and turned to thank Philis and Silvester again before stepping into the secret chamber and onto the Transmission Array.
Whoosh!
A flash of White Light, and the scene before him blurred.
The next mont, Colin found himself in the familiar Cloud Hall.
"Colin, what business do you have seeking an audience?" the booming voice of the Supre Councilman echoed in the hall.
Colin gave a bow, took a deep breath, and began to recount his discovery, "Reporting to the Counciln, deep in the cave..."
...
By the ti Colin left Cloud Hall, a half-hour had passed.
Outside the secret chamber... the figures of Silvester and Philis were nowhere to be seen— even the guard wizards had been replaced.
Looking around a final ti, there were noticeably fewer wizards in the hall.
