Lin Xiaofei closed her eyes and bit down on her lips. How could she possibly forget the words that Liu Shishi said during the banquet?
She saw his stunned expression when Liu Shishi said it and knew that he had heard it. She was avoiding this conversation and wished that she could go back in ti when Liu Shishi opened her mouth.
These past few days, she was too busy to even think about the previous owner's past actions and after hearing her maid's narration of her admiration towards this man. She could only hope that Qu Xing Xu didn't have any recollection of that day nor did he rember what Liu Shishi had said about her asking for his hand for marriage.
Unfortunately, her wish was not heard as this man wanted to use Liu Shishi's words to trap her.
What should she do? Thought Lin Xiaofei. If she were to confess that she did say that she wanted to ask for his hand in marriage, that would an she would be admitting that she admired him.
On the other hand, if she tried to deny it… Who knew if Qu Xing Xu had already investigated and found out that she, Lin Xiaofei, was previously smitten to him.
Whatever she chooses to do, it won't erase the fact that she liked him and had adored him from afar. This ti, Qu Xing Xu won without even lifting his hand.
"That… that was because I was young and blind." Lin Xiaofei clenched her hands, "Anyway, it's all in the past and I no longer have that kind of feeling for you."
A dangerous glint flashed through his eyes while she didn't look at him. No longer have feelings for him? Qu Xing Xu wanted to laugh but anger was boiling inside him.
Was she saying this because she found another man that she liked?
Just the thought of this made him grit his teeth and want to kill that man whoever that is.
Qu Xing Xu relaxed his body and lifted her chin with his hand. It doesn't matter whether she liked soone now. For as long as he could get her as his wife, no other man will ever be able to touch and have her. And he won't allow her to have other n stay in her mind and heart.
As for her feelings for him... There's a lot of ti for them to spend together. All he needed to do was to make her fall in love with him again.
"Then… What is your answer?" Qu Xing Xu asked, his eyes taking in every inch of her face and engrave it to his mories.
"Will you accept as your husband or not?" His voice was low and deliberately slow as he finally looked into her eyes.
Lin Xiaofei frowned and didn't open her mouth. She was still hesitating as she didn't know why Qu Xing Xu kept on insisting to marry her.
Was this the right thing? Should she really marry him? But will she get another chance to keep him tied to her fate?
As the hesitation she was feeling was seen through by Qu Xing Xu, he decided to put things in his hands as he said, "I'll take your silence as a yes."
Lin Xiaofei's eyes widened.
Qu Xing Xu stood up straight and told her, "I'll co again tomorrow. I'll properly ask for your hand from General Lin so don't do anything."
Pausing in his steps, a wicked smile was on his lips as he warned her, "Also, don't you dare try to go back on your word and refuse. I won't appreciate it either if you continue to look for other n to marry."
And before Lin Xiaofei could say sothing to him, Qu Xing Xu left.
Lin Xiaofei sighed and shook her. She needed to inform Lin Xiaong first or else, he would die from the shock tomorrow.
It seems that there's no turning back now.
As soon as Qu Xing Xu left the Lin residence, Gu Yan appeared to his side and kneeled in front of him.
"Did you do what I asked you to do?" Qu Xing Xu looked at the bright sky as if there were millions of stars twinkling to congratulate him.
"Yes, master." Gu Yan answered and took out a paper in his hand, "According to our n in the palace. The empress will have a big day for her to expect when tomorrow morning cos."
Qu Xing Xu looked at Gu Yan who had his head lowered and said, "That's good. You can stand up." When he said this, Gu Yan did as what he was ordered and stood up.
"Master… did you perhaps succeed in stealing the young lady's heart?" Gu Yan asked expectantly. He knew that his master rushed to get the young lady he fancied and when he said that he wanted to go out to steal a heart, Gu Yan thought that there was no way that his master would fail.
He was also happy that his master was finally looking for a bride and Elder Mo Ting's worries will disappear.
The last ti Elder Mo Ting talked to him… He told Gu Yan to look for handso males to put beside his master. Thankfully, he didn't listen to that old man's words and ignored it. Who knew if he did that and his master would chop their heads off and treat it as fertilizer to his garden that was filled with poisonous flowers and plants.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't successful in stealing her heart." Qu Xing Xu said with a bright smile on his face.
"Then… the young lady…" Gu Yan was shocked that his master wasn't successful and had a look of pity as if he was pitying his master who was busted.
Chuckling, Qu Xing Xu pulled the hairpin that he put in his sleeve and looked at it shining against the light, "Call the elders and tell them to prepare to et the Duchess of Xin."
Gu Yan stared at him in astonishnt before he smiled and cupped his hand in front of him, "Congratulations, Master!"
