Chapter 829: Chapter 845: Aggrieved

Chapter 845: Grievance

Sienna Johnson looked coldly at Adrian Desmond, who felt a tremendous pressure and swallowed the rest of his words.

"Alright, as long as you don’t insist on going back to Sileria City, I’ll listen to whatever you say."

Adrian agreed, and Sienna’s anger subsided a bit. "I’ve heard Elliot Carpenter has been looking for you a lot recently?"

"He’s my uncle. Since you married me, he’s your uncle too. He’s an elder, can’t you not call him by his name?"

"Uncle? What uncle? Adrian, can’t you open your eyes and see the true face of Elliot Carpenter?

If he were truly your uncle, I’d naturally worship him, but he..."

"Alright, alright, let’s not talk about my uncle..." Adrian didn’t want to argue with Sienna, so he opened the noodles and said, "Let’s eat noodles, I came back early just to bring you these noodles."

"Who asked you to come back early?" She spoke ungratefully, but the corners of her mouth turned up, showing Adrian that she was happy and he didn’t mind her contrary words.

"I wanted to on my own, alright?"

Sienna took a bite and frowned slightly. Adrian asked, "Is it good?"

"It’s okay, not as good as what we had in Mandanila."

"Not good?"

"Try it." Sienna picked up a mouthful and fed it to Adrian, who, without thinking, took a bite to see where it wasn’t good.

"So spicy!" After eating it, he realized what he had just eaten. Adrian’s face quickly turned red, "Water..."

Sienna pointed to the cup in front of him. Adrian grabbed it and drank, his face changing drastically.

"Sienna Johnson, did you do it on purpose?"

"Isn’t it exciting?" Adrian had just drunk sour plum juice, which Sienna specially made to ease her morning sickness.

"Indeed, if you have to offend someone, never let it be a woman."

First spicy, then sour, she really gave him a hard time!

"Yes, never offend a woman, Sixth Master must remember this well."

Adrian saw her laughing with a gloating expression after committing mischief. Although he was the one tricked, Adrian wasn’t angry.

As long as she doesn’t look sickly and downcast every day, he’s fine with anything.

"You look beautiful when you smile, you should smile more."

"Whether I smile or not depends on how you treat me, Sixth Master."

"Haven’t I been good enough to you?"

"I’d rather you be a little bad to me."

Adrian was puzzled, lifting her into his arms as he sat on the chair where she had been sitting. Sienna settled in his lap; both liked this position.

"If I’m a little bad to you, you’ll cry again."

She nestled in his arms, tracing his eyebrows with her eyes, filled with longing, "If you’re a little bad to me, I can be a little harsher with you. Then, I won’t get hurt."

"How could I bear it?"

"Stop coaxing me with sweet words. Speak! Why has your uncle been looking for you again? He’s not planning to go back to dealing drugs, is he? If he wants to die, let him die; can’t you stay out of it?

Adrian Desmond, if you dare take a bullet for Elliot Carpenter again, I’ll return to Sileria City immediately!" Sienna was not swayed by Adrian’s sweet words, her mind clear as she threatened him.

"I’m aware of what’s going on!"

Sienna was annoyed by his attitude, but unlike usual, she didn’t argue with Adrian.

Paige Desmond’s words reminded her she wasn’t planning to divorce Adrian. Arguing would only be harmful.

"Then tell me, why has Elliot Carpenter been looking for you so often recently?"

"Who told you that? It’s not often he’s been looking for me."

"What’s he calling you for?"

"Nothing much!"

"You won’t say, huh?"

"Alright, alright, I’ll tell you... My uncle’s worried about Melanie Carpenter’s marriage and wants me to introduce some good men for her."

Sienna looked at Adrian, smirking, and Adrian felt embarrassed, "I didn’t agree."

"Good that you’ve got some sense!" Sienna poked his forehead, "Elliot Carpenter’s actions are amusing to me. What’s he really up to?"

"Ah..."

"What is it?"

Sienna pulled Adrian’s hand to her belly and said, "Your son has been kicking a lot recently, it’s painful."

"After this one, we won’t have any more," Adrian said, seeing how Sienna had lost weight and wasn’t eating or sleeping well.

"No, two are too few."

"Look what you’ve become! Never seen anyone who enjoys suffering like this."

"This is what I call a sweet burden! You’re not a woman, you’ll never understand how I feel."

Adolph Desmond came over, seeing the two snuggling, he quickly averted his eyes, staring straight ahead.

Sienna noticed Adolph too and was about to get up, but Adrian stopped her, so she remained in his embrace.

"What is it?"

"...Mr. Carpenter said there’s something important to discuss with you. He’s waiting in the car outside," Adolph reported.

Sienna’s eyes turned cold, glaring at Adrian, "If you dare go, I’m heading to Sileria City!"

"Don’t be rash!"

Adrian patted her gently, saying, "Get up, I’ll meet him quickly, it won’t cost me a thing."

"More than a thing, I’m afraid you’ll lose your life!" Sienna said through gritted teeth.

"It’s just an accident."

Sienna’s eyes reddened instantly, filled with tears. Adrian worried they would spill any second.

"Hey, don’t cry, I’m most afraid when you cry."

"You control whether I cry?"

Adrian’s scalp tingled, "I’ll see him. I’ll be back soon."

"I’m coming too!"

"What for?"

"To see what Elliot Carpenter’s planning."

Adrian felt the pressure, the two just couldn’t get along. If a fight broke out, whom would he side with?

"You don’t like my uncle, what are you going for? Stay home, I’ll be back shortly."

Sienna glared, clearly upset. Adrian carried her to a lounger, gently saying, "I’ll come back quickly."

Sienna threw the glass cup on the table, Adrian paused, then walked out.

Grievance surged, tears streaming down Sienna’s face, unable to bear their weight.

She viciously said, "Adrian Desmond, if I worry about you again, I’m a fool!"

...

Outside the Desmond Manor, a silver car was parked, Elliot Carpenter inside, waiting for Adrian, with a car of bodyguards behind.

Adrian strode over, and a bodyguard opened the car door for him. Adrian got in the car.

"Uncle!"
