Chapter 798: Chapter 827: Search (Part 2)

Don’t say there are no fire trucks here—even if there were, they wouldn’t be able to get in.

Wayne learned of the situation and sent a helicopter to put out the fire directly.

Otherwise, the fire wouldn’t have just burned down the building where Xavier was.

By the time Adrian arrived, Woodenshade Village had already been taken over by Wayne, that cunning man. When Jeffrey received the news and rushed over, it was too late—even the chance to get a piece of the action was gone.

In this transaction among the three, Wayne ended up the winner, and Adrian was the biggest loser.

Wayne and Jeffrey stood at a distance, looking at the man standing in front of the ruins, both feeling uneasy. This man had provided people and guns just to save Sienna, but in the end, it was all in vain.

"I was just as heartbroken as Sixth Master when my wife died," Jeffrey said.

"..."

"But after some time, it got better."

"That’s you! You think Adrian is as indecisive as you are." Wayne lit a cigarette, and smoke rings came out of his nostrils.

"Didn’t they say they found no body? Maybe she’s not dead."

"Or maybe the body burned to ashes. Xavier’s body wasn’t found either."

The fire was fierce and if he hadn’t sent planes capable of carrying 12 tons of water in 20 seconds to ferry water back and forth to extinguish it, that field of over a thousand acres of poppies would have gone up in flames, along with this forest. If it had spread into a forest fire and caught higher-ups’ attention, taking over Woodenshade Village would have been troublesome for him.

Luckily, he managed to control it in time before things got worse.

It wasn’t his wife who died, Jeffrey felt nothing. He was only thinking about his guns.

"Do you think Sixth Master will take back the Barrett heavy sniper rifle he gave us?"

"Take it back?" Wayne sneered.

"Yeah, he originally said he’d let us help deal with Xavier, but Xavier ended up playing with fire and burning himself to death, and we didn’t actually do anything. Would Adrian take back the guns?"

Those guns, you couldn’t buy even with money.

The thought of Adrian possibly taking them back made Jeffrey feel a pang in his heart. He thought for a moment and said, "No way, no way, can’t give them back. If he wants them back, just let him take back those five beauties instead."

"..."

"Hey, why aren’t you saying anything? What do you mean? If Adrian asks you, would you give them back?"

Wayne finished his cigarette, tossed the butt to the ground, and crushed it with his shoe. With a wicked smile, he said, "Once it’s in my pocket, there’s no way I’m taking it out! Unless they take me out first!"

Not giving them back, huh?

Jeffrey laughed, "Right, since it was given to us, we’re definitely not handing it back!"

...

In the end, Wayne took over Woodenshade Village, and he sent trusted aides to manage it. Those underlings of Xavier who were vying for power were all dealt with by Wayne.

Daylight broke, and everyone helped Adrian search for her.

"Found her, found her..." someone suddenly shouted.

Adrian’s heart nearly jumped out; he hurried over, tripping over a stone, almost falling.

"Sixth Master, be careful." Barnes stayed close by Adrian’s side, timely supporting Adrian to prevent him from falling.

But Adrian pushed Barnes away, striding towards the charred body.

Brandon saw that the body was naked, and there was also a naked man beside it. The two were embracing, clearly showing what they had been up to.

If this female corpse really was Sienna and she had been entangled with another man, Sixth Master’s troubles would be doubled.

"Sixth Master, you think this is..."

Though everyone assumed that the corpse was Sienna, no one dared speak it aloud, as "Sienna’s" death was anything but honorable.

Adrian squatted down, gave it a glance, and concluded, "It’s not her!"

"Sixth Master, are you sure?" someone dared to ask.

Adrian irritably shouted, "Of course I’m sure about my own woman! Keep looking! Don’t just find some random dead body and say it’s Sienna!"

"Yes!"

From morning until night, they searched, checking every single brick of the building, yet they still couldn’t find Sienna’s body.

Adrian looked at the corpses on the ground and surprisingly laughed, scaring the crowd—could it be he was heartbroken to insanity?

Brandon also felt chills, "Sixth Master, not finding her is good news, Madam must still be alive."

"Yeah, that woman is so clever, how could she let herself die so easily!"

Adrian gave one last look at the house burned to rubble and ordered Barnes, "Figure out a way, I want to know if Xavier is among these bodies!"

"Yes!"

"Sixth Master, where are you going?"

"Back to Sileria City!"

The crowd:...

Sabrina watched Adrian leave with big strides, scratching her head, "What’s going on now? Not looking anymore? Sixth Master not caring about Madam?"

Brandon couldn’t understand either. Adrian’s determination to find someone looked like he was going to search to the ends of the earth, but then he suddenly stopped.

"Did Sixth Master have a breakdown?"

"Definitely!"

"What is Sileria City anyway?"

"It’s Madam’s hometown! Sixth Master’s daughter is there too."

"Could it be that without his wife, Sixth Master plans to return to Sileria City to accompany his daughter, watching her grow up and get married, ending his life that way?"

"Hmm, possibly, that’s how it plays out in TV dramas."

Brandon watched as Barnes and Sabrina bantered back and forth, his eyelids twitching. "Could you two shut up?"

"No!" they replied in unison.

Brandon:...
