Of course, he didn’t expect the dragon to hand over the Supreme Metac so easily. So he wasn’t surprised when the dragon replied, saying, "That’s too much. Ask for something else."
Instead, he chuckled and said, "It seems you don’t know what kind of danger you’re in. If you did, you won’t call that price too much."
But the dragon said, "Anyway, I can’t give it to you. I’d rather make a deal with the Sword Maestro."
This made Sword Maestro say, "It seems you want to be beaten severely before you see reason. So be it."
After making his attempt to secure the Luck Supreme Metac with the dragon and failing, Black Chains decided to change his approach and try another method.
He turned to the other four Dao Lords and said with a smile, "Today is a joyous day. My wayward disciple has seen the error of his ways and has returned to the light. This is worthy of celebration."
"It is a pity that we’re currently fighting, so we can’t celebrate each other. So how about this, I will let you fellow go for a while. Let us cease fighting for this special occasion. All I ask in return is that you save my disciple."
"Since you’re friends, my request shouldn’t be difficult for you to plete. How about that?"
In the second battlefield, five monkeys were fighting the four avatars. One of the monkeys had summoned a domain full of skeletons to fight for them.
The black monkey had injected his external body with the Skeleton Undead Creation Divine Metac. So undead skeletons were constantly spawning in the black monkey’s surroundings.
The other four monkeys were sticking with the black monkey in the fight. They flanked the monkey, two on each side, and fought together as a team.
By staying together like that, the four monkeys were caught up in the external body of the black monkey and were subjected to the suppression of the external body. This canceled out the authority of all five monkeys.
This is another problem that Dao Lords have to face when they allow their avatars to descend. Not only is their strength limited in the avatar, but even avatars from the same source will cancel each other out whenever they meet. Only in the true body of a Dao Lord can two or more pathways work together in harmony.
The good news is that by staying together like this, all of their enemies will have to e to them and fight the five of them at the same time. Plus, the five monkeys have an external body that is larger than the external bodies of the avatars of the other Dao Lords.
Because of these two things, the four avatars had to enter the range of the external body of the black monkey and be subject to the suppression of the Authority of Death. So the four avatars also lost the amplification of their Authority in their various pathways.
Not only did they lose the amplification of Authority, but they also became disadvantaged because the black monkey could now control the battlefield.
Because they are in his external body, the black monkey can attack them from any direction and produce attacks from anywhere by turning the whole area in the external body against them. On the other hand, they can only produce attacks from their bodies.
Every attack they produce has to e from them, but the black monkeys can produce attacks from every corner of the external body, which can catch them off guard and even overwhelm them. This is an advantage that controlling the battlefield provides, even if both sides have lost the amplification of their Authority.
Furthermore, since the fight is five against four, in the short term, the five monkeys are winning. But if the four avatars can hold on with their superior lifespan capacity, they might win in the long term.
However, if one of the four avatars were to leave to rescue Sword Maestro, the fight will bee five against three. Not only would the individual pressure on the three avatars increase, but the amount of lifespan that they can use to endure will also reduce.
So if the fight were to bee five against three, the three would surely lose. This was why none of the four avatars were willing to be distracted with saving Sword Maestro.
Fortunately, an opportunity for them to help Sword Maestro has appeared. Black Chains has proposed a truce to their hostilities. This way, they can save Sword Maestro and slay the dragon before they resume their fight.

Martial Will nodded and said in agreement, "That’s true. How can we be sure that you won’t turn your back on us and gang up on us together with the dragon as soon as we stop fighting?"
Black Chains thought that he was already magnanimous with his offer, yet his fellow Dao Lords were being greedy. This made him snort and say, "What a bunch of greedy short-sighted fools."
Even Sword Maestro wanted to say, "Call them whatever you want, but they are not wrong, though."
But he kept his mouth shut and instead increased his efforts to stop the dragon from killing him by fighting desperately and trying to convince the dragon with a good offer.
He hoped that Black Chains would save him, but he clearly didn’t want to put all of his eggs into one basket. And this is just one of the other things he was doing to save himself.
Meanwhile, Black Chains was stumped by their reply. Fortunately, he knew what to do to convince them. So he quickly recovered from this stumble in his plan and began the execution of the next move in the long series of moves in his scheme.
