Like the previous disciples before Sword Maestro who managed to reach rank 9 in the Four Directions Sect, he would cripple them with the sect mark. Then he would use the mark to pull Sword Maestro up like a fisherman reeling up a hooked fish.
But Tepid Scholar interfered and removed the mark from Sword Maestro. So he had to send an avatar to retrieve the ungrateful disciple of his for proper discipline. It turned out that it was a trap.
At that time, there were only seven Dao Lords. Six of them had ganged up on him.
If they hadn’t been distrustful of each other and unwilling to mit too much, they might have killed an avatar of his. But he had still lost a lot to escape.
Because of that experience, he had never allowed anyone to create a Supreme Metac again. He even started limiting every divine being to having up to five Divine Positions.
That way, no one else would be able to create a Supreme Metac and escape his control, or be used as bait to lure him down into the Sea of Worlds. But by doing so, he stopped being able to gain more Supreme Metacs through his sect.
That’s what Sword Maestro cost him, so the little humiliation ritual he made Sword Maestro endure is just a drop in the bucket of everything he planned to do for revenge. He has a lot more things planned that are worse than some humiliation.
He couldn’t really blame Tepid Scholar for the part the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect played in that scheme. After all, he had been the one to steal Tepid Scholar’s Forging Pathway first. It was only right that Tepid Scholar would cook up a scheme to get back at him.
In fact, he wasn’t angry with Tepid Scholar about the whole thing. Anytime he thought back to the experience, he would laugh and call Tepid Scholar a loser.
Tepid Scholar’s failed attempt to get back at him only amused him. But Sword Master’s role in the whole thing could never be forgotten. It is like how a farmer could never forgive the boar that bit his hands and then tried to kill him.
If he were up to him, he would let the dragon kill Sword Maestro before killing the dragon himself and sweeping up the three Supreme Metacs. But he didn’t want to take any chances.
So while he was humiliating Sword Maestro, he used his avatar to send a message to the dragon, saying, "It seems I’ve underestimated you. You have done well."
In response, the dragon said, "Is that so? Then watch me kill this one. I’m sure you will be very satisfied with me."
Black Chain didn’t like the lack of respect in the way the dragon spoke to him, but he decided to forgo the trivialities in favor of more important matters.
So he only frowned as he said, "Anyway, I want to tell you that I have been offered a great price by Sword Maestro to stop you. His offer is tempting, and I’m inclined to accept it."
"But I don’t want to betray you. We’re partners after all. So I will give you a chance to make me a better offer."
The reply came as the dragon said, "Oh! What a coincidence. I have also been offered a great price to turn on you. What do we do now?"
In response, Black Chains scoffed and said, "Don’t be fooled by those idiots. They are lying to you. None of them are trustworthy."
Then he said, "I am the only one you can count on. If you surrender the Luck Supreme Metac to me, I will continue to work with you. And don’t tell me that you’ve assimilated it because no rank 9 being can have two pathways."
He made this offer because he wanted to secure the Luck Supreme Metac first before risking anything more. After all, the Luck Supreme Metac is a Cosmic Dao. No Grand Dao can pare to it in value. If he can secure the Luck Supreme Metac, he will have no scruples about taking more risks.
As for whether Loki had assimilated the Luck Supreme Metac, he didn’t think it was possible. There were just too many reasons why it couldn’t have happened. The first reason is that Dao Initiates can’t initiate more than one Supreme Metac at a time.
Just as two external bodies can’t occupy the same space, two Supreme Metacs can’t occupy the same rank 9 Dao Initiate. That Dao Initiate will need to advance to rank 10 and expand their existence before they can acmodate more than one Dao.
If he tried to force the acmodation, his existence would be torn apart. And if he tried to force the Devouring Supreme Metac to swallow a Supreme Metac, it would explode, regardless of the size of the Supreme Metac he wants to swallow.
Plus, the Luck Supreme Metac is a Cosmic Dao and is bigger than the Devouring Supreme Metac. So the Luck Supreme Metac will only crush the Devouring Supreme Metac if the dragon tried to swallow it.
But if Loki managed to bypass these rules somehow, there is still the matter of patibility. Based on his estimates, the Luck Pathway is not patible with the Devouring Pathway at all. Therefore, it should be impossible for the dragon to acmodate the two of them even if his existence has space for the two of them.
If by some unreasonable stroke of luck, Loki could find a way to overe the rejection between the two pathways and still find space within his existence to acmodate them, he would still need some time for the assimilation.
This last requirement is basic mon sense among Dao Lords. It should take at least an hour and up to a hundred years before Loki can ply with the acmodation.
It has been less than a minute since Golden Sun died, so there is just no way the dragon has had time to successfully acmodate the Luck Supreme Metac.
