"Can you imagine letting those children wake up in the bodies of monsters? They can’t even return to society, so what’s the point of living?"

The bespectacled doctor clicked his tongue. "They’ve never experienced normal life anyway, so there’s nothing wrong with using them as lab rats."

deia gritted her teeth, her hands shaking as she struggled to control the whirlwind of emotions inside her.

Anger, disgust, and sorrow all mixed together, making her nauseous and wanting to throw up imdiately.

She lifted her sword, attempting to slice his throat, even though the system hadn’t given her the green light to kill the doctors. But before the blade could touch his neck, Lucian had kicked him away.

The doctor hit the wall with a grunt. He groaned in pain, clutching his ribs as he struggled to sit upright. His glasses had fallen off, and blood spurted from the corner of his mouth.

Before he could raise his head, Lucian placed his foot on the doctor’s head, causing him to prostrate himself before him.

Lucian leaned down, his voice cold as ice. "The reason they couldn’t live like normal children is because of a bastard like you." He emphasized his words. "You took everything from them, their innocence, their future, their lives."

"And now you dare to talk as if they should never have existed?"

The doctor chuckled through his pain. "This experint is necessary for us, if we can control many strong soldiers who can surpass the power of the monster, then we can protect humanity in the future."

deia, "Necessary, my ass. What’s the point of saving humanity if you have to sacrifice the others?"

The doctor coughed, and a faint smile appeared on his face. "Sacrifices are always necessary. The death of thousands can’t be compared to millions of lives."

Lucian stomped his head harder into the ground, making the doctor’s eyes widen in horror as his body trembled in pain. "Human lives are not just numbers," Lucian growled. "The people who died in your damned experints had the right to live, just like everyone else."

When the doctor wanted to open his mouth again, Lucian warned him, "I will crush your head if you open your mouth again."

With those words alone, the doctor finally lost the courage to speak again.

Lucian then lifted his foot from the doctor’s head and turned to the other doctors. "This warning also applies to you. No one speaks until we ask you a question."

deia’s jaw dropped because she hadn’t expected Lucian to go that far. She knew Lucian was capable of cruel things, but to see him act so rcilessly made her love him even more.

"Hey, I think sothing is wrong with the tank." Harry straightened his back as he saw the tank shaking slightly as if sothing was trying to push it from behind the door.

"The monsters ... Orlon has to use them to get out of the dungeon," guessed Tian. "We have to get ready to fight them."

"How many are they?" deia shouted at the doctors. "How many children have you turned into monsters in the dungeon now?!"

"N-not that many ... only twenty. The rest are not strong enough to live much longer."

Of course, they weren’t strong enough to live longer. Their bodies weren’t built to beco monsters in the first place.

"deia, what are you going to do with them?" Lucian could see that the children triggered her so much, so he wanted to know her opinion before taking action.

"What else?" deia gritted her teeth and said firmly, "We have to kill them."

Ren was speechless. "But ... but maybe we can find another way to cure them? Can’t we at least try?"

deia paused at the door, her hand resting on the fra. Without turning, she said, "They have suffered enough. The only way to save them now is to give them the peace they were never given."

Sotis rcy didn’t feel as gentle as a feather. Sotis it was as sharp as a blade, cutting through hope and leaving only the cold, silent peace.

CRASH!

The sound of a deafening roar ca out of the dungeon. Soone or sothing was destroying the dungeon’s entrance.

deia’s eyes darted to the shattered remains of the steel door. The massive tank that had once blocked the way lay in ruins, its tal shell crumpled like paper.

From within the destroyed dungeon, figures began to erge. At first, it was hard to see their shapes, but as the dust and smoke dissipated, their monstrous forms beca clear.

As the doctors had said, the experint had transford their bodies into the Lost and they were no longer recognizable as humans.

One had unnaturally elongated limbs, its clawed hands scraping the ground as it moved like a four-legged animal.

Another had skin filled with scales and exposed muscle. Its head resembled a fish that lived in the deep sea, a grotesque mixture of fish and human head.

Their bodies were more chaotic than those of the Lost, a horrifying amalgam of failed experintation and forced evolution.

"Bastard ... how can they create creatures like this?" Simon glared at the doctors. "The demons are probably better than they are."

deia tightened her grip on her sword. "The demons are still worse, but every person in this base is as rotten as the demons."

Harry spat on the ground, disgusted by their behavior. "At least the demons don’t hide what they are. These people ... they act like they’re doing sothing noble."

"There is no nobility in this." Lucian spoke in a low voice. "They’re just a bunch of humans trying to beco gods."

deia watched the monsters in front of her for a while and realized sothing. ’System, can you also detect their abilities?’

[They have so much DNA in their bodies, but the system can detect their dominant DNA, which corresponds to their main abilities].

’Then hurry up and detect their abilities.’

[Proceed the request...]

[Ding! The system has detected five main abilities in them.]
