deia had been alone in her tent from noon until midnight, tirelessly sewing. If not for the Blessing of Resilience, her body would have long since given in to exhaustion.
She hadn’t expected much, yet in just one day, the blanket was finally complete. The stitching was flawless, every thread perfectly in place, and as her fingers glided over the fabric, she couldn’t help but admire how incredibly soft it felt.
[Ding! Ding! Quest Completed: Create a Fur Blanket From a Mutant Mammoth (Grade-S)]
[Reward: 1,200 C-Point // 1,600 XP]
[Reward Gold Coins: 3,500]
[See, Host? You could’ve finished this blanket in a month if you had truly focused!]
[You could be hunting and collecting points if you stopped wasting ti on novels!]
[You’re stuck at this level because of your own laziness!]
deia hissed in irritation, her patience worn thin by the system’s relentless nagging. Each day, its voice grew more and more like a nagging grandma’s, and it only made her feel increasingly frustrated.
She’d rather hear the system try to rob her than get any attention from it, but either way, it only made her suffer more.
"What’s the next quest?" deia asked sharply, with no intention of making small talk. "Don’t even think about giving an absurd one! Winter’s approaching, and I don’t have ti for unnecessary labor."
[Request denied.]
[Host, you cannot request quests or missions as they are all set by the high authority. The system can’t even change them.]
deia clicked her tongue. "Right. You’re just a slave after all."
[New Romance Quest: Make a dessert that reminds him of his childhood (Grade-A)]
[Ti-Limited: 14 days.]
deia’s jaw dropped. First, she was told to sew, and now she had to cook—no, wait, bake, right?
Oh, hell.
deia had never touched a cooking tool in her life. Even after coming to this world, she had never helped Sister Jeanne or others cook in the kitchen.
And what was this about a dessert that could make Lucian think of his childhood? deia didn’t even know what kind of desserts Lucian had eaten in the past.
And where was she supposed to get the ingredients?
[You can buy all the ingredients in the system’s supermarket, Host!]
[This feature is exclusive, so you can only shop once a month. That’s why, please choose the ingredients wisely before making your purchase.]
deia could feel the system was trying to take advantage of her right away.
Since when did the system have a supermarket feature? This had to be so trick to take her coins!
Was it because deia secretly hoped the system would rob her instead of nagging her?
Take that back! She also didn’t want a system that acted like a thief! She just wanted a normal system.
"deia, love, are you still working?" Lucian asked. "The night is getting colder. I don’t think it’s good for you to stay in the tent at this hour."
deia, who had almost lost her temper, gradually cald down when she heard his voice from outside the tent.
"No! I’m finally free from my labor." deia imdiately stepped out of the tent, smiling widely when she saw Lucian holding out another jacket for her. "Why are you still awake? You don’t have patrol duty tonight, right?"
Lucian nodded, then draped the jacket he brought over her shoulders. "Yes, today isn’t my shift."
Since the base no longer used Nico’s shield as the primary defense, they agreed to take turns patrolling at night.
But sotis—or perhaps often—Lucian volunteered outside his schedule if he couldn’t sleep, which made deia think that maybe tonight, he also wanted to patrol, even though it wasn’t his shift.
"You’re not volunteering for the night watch again, are you?" deia narrowed her eyes. "I’ll put the permafrost soil on your side of the bed if you let sleep alone tonight."
Lucian chuckled softly. "No, I’m not. I’m just waiting for you to return because it’s hard to sleep alone."
Lucian even found it hard to sleep, even when they were together. Actually, deia didn’t understand why he had chronic insomnia in the first place.
At tis, she felt frustrated that Lucian couldn’t stay in bed through the entire night, but she refrained from nagging too much, not wanting to add any pressure or stress to him.
deia wrapped her arms around his neck, then smiled playfully.
"Do you want to make a baby tonight?" deia asked.
Recently, deia had realized that the only way to make Lucian sleep soundly until morning was by having sex with her.
Her boyfriend was truly a beast in bed—no wonder he would be exhausted after they were done.
Even after deia’s stamina improved, she still found it hard to keep up with him.
Lucian caressed her cheek. "I don’t think this is a great ti. You look tired, so let’s just sleep tonight."
Tired? What tired? The Blessing of Resilience had made her as strong as an ox!
She wouldn’t die even if she got railed by him after sewing for an entire day!
But... she knew that Lucian was the type of man who considered everything thoroughly—maybe even too considerate.
Or maybe he simply wasn’t in the mood for it.
While deia had been cooped up in the tent since noon, Lucian had been tirelessly moving across the base, assisting everyone.
At tis, he helped Naomi and the farrs with harvesting vegetables from the hydroponics, and at other monts, he lent a hand in moving people’s belongings to their new rooms.
Occasionally, his cousin would ask him to take care of sothing as well. Though he never complained, deia could tell he was more exhausted than usual.
Well, it seed like her hole would be lonely again tonight.
"Just sleeping sounds good, then," deia said with a smile.
As long as he was getting so rest, that was all that mattered.
They walked toward their bedroom together, but as deia took just a few steps, sothing cold suddenly landed on her head.
She thought it was a raindrop at first, but when she looked up, she saw delicate white flakes falling gently from the sky.
She was relieved she had finished her blanket, or she would have failed her quest, just as the system had warned her.
Finally, the system wasn’t completely useless.
"The first snow," deia said with a soft smile, lifting her hand toward the sky. "This is the first ti I’ve seen sothing like this."
