"You said you would bring to a safe place," Joy protested, her face pale as deia brought her to the Red Zone forest instead of the promised safe haven.

"I will," deia assured her, her tone calm. "But first, I need to gather so dicinal herbs. You know a lot about them, don’t you?"

Joy nodded quickly, her stiff posture betraying her fear as distant growls echoed through the forest. "I-I know ... but I’ve never gathered them directly in the forest."

The doctors and professors in her previous base had always handled the fieldwork, sending hunters to retrieve the herbs. Joy had only studied them in sterile labs, far removed from the dangers of the Red Zone.

deia, "Well, there’s a first ti for everything. Just stay close to us and you’ll be fine, maybe."

Her words did nothing to dispel the fear in Joy’s heart. But she couldn’t stay in the car alone, because if a monster approached, there was no one to protect her.

"The forest feels colder than the last Red Forest we visited, doesn’t it?" deia walked side by side with Lucian, hugging herself to avoid the cold. "Are all Red Zone forests cold?"

"Give your hands." Lucian put winter gloves on her hands. It seed he had taken them from Warstock’s warehouse earlier. "Not all of the Red Forest is cold. If the ground does not beco permafrost, the forest will be like any other forest, but with dangerous monsters."

"Actually, I took you to the Vermillion Forest because it was not as cold as the Ice Forest. However, because of the last accident ... I released my power too much," Lucian admitted.

He seed a bit guilty because a large part of the Vermillion Forest had been destroyed by his power, along with so many precious dicinal herbs.

deia put her hands on his cheeks, letting Lucian borrow the warmth of her gloves. "Don’t be sorry. I like the fact that you will do anything to find ."

Even if Lucian burned the entire forest for her, deia would never bla him.

deia, "Alright, let’s find plenty of dicinal herbs today and gather the permafrost soil."

She whispered in Lucian’s ear, "I also have a herbalist’s bag. It can store up to 100 herbs and keep them fresh for more than 10 years. Therefore, we can stock dicinal herbs for ourselves."

Lucian laughed softly. "Really... you have so many interesting things." He continued, "Then, we can always have fresh dicinal herbs when we travel to other places."

They then started gathering herbs efficiently. Nico followed Lucian and deia in silence, clutching Bear so he didn’t have to feel afraid whenever he sensed the presence of dangerous monsters in the forest.

On the other side, Joy walked with Tian and Simon. Even though she was as afraid as Nico, she was still able to work well and quickly.

They placed the dicinal herbs carefully into the bag, then filled the truck with permafrost soil.

After collecting the last batch of herbs, deia closed the truck. "Let’s head back to the Red Canyon. We have everything we need for now."

Nico and Joy were the first to get into the car. Nico waved to them. "Co on, hurry up! Let’s go before the monsters sll our scents!"

deia scoffed at him. "You think the monsters didn’t sll you earlier?

The reason why none of the monsters approached them was because Lucian was constantly pushing those monsters away from them with his telekinetic power.

After deia thought about it further, it seed like Lucian had grown comfortable to use his ability.

"Are you tired?" deia rubbed so sweat off Lucian’s forehead with her sleeve. The forest was cold, but using his ability constantly made his body temperature hotter.

"I’m fine." Lucian smiled, then kissed her hand. "Let’s head back now. I feel sothing big will approach us if we don’t leave soon."

deia sighed. "You really should teach how to drive, so you can rest properly on the road."

deia had always asked Lucian to teach her, but they didn’t have much ti to do that due to their busy activities.

"Let’s do it once we get back, okay?" promised Lucian.

"Alright." deia nodded, then entered the jeep.

The ride back was quiet because deia had accidentally fallen asleep due to fatigue. Once she opened her eyes, she had arrived at Red Canyon.

The night had approached, but the base was still as lively as daylight.

Richard’s n walked around the base, bringing materials to build the new structures they had been planning. The sound of hamrs, drills, and voices filled the air, blending with the hum of activity.

"Is your cousin a monster? I haven’t even seen him sleep since yesterday." deia was speechless as her eyes landed on the new white building located near the farm.

It was the new dical bay.

deia could hardly believe her eyes. She had only asked Richard to build the dical bay the day before, and yet, there it was, standing tall and strong.

"Monsters!" she muttered, shaking her head. "They’re construction monsters!"

Lucian chuckled beside her. "Once he does sothing, he can’t stop. That’s why his sisters have to drag him to his room and force him to sleep if he works too hard."

But Richard’s sisters weren’t here now, so there was no one to stop him from working.

deia finally understood why his sisters insisted on staying with Richard, even if it ant living among piles of trash and devil moss.

Their brother would eventually burn himself out if he lived alone!

deia began to think that maybe his sisters would strongly oppose Richard’s wish for them to stay in the Red Star Alliance.

deia then turned her head toward Lucian. Like Richard, she also often chose not to sleep and work instead.

Both of them were hard working monsters!

"How was your trip?" Richard asked casually when he saw them walk toward him. He didn’t even show any signs of fatigue. "Did you bring sothing on the truck?"
