Where did he go? I don't sense his presence anymore. That was a clever move, unleashing a burst lightning to disrupt my Electrolocation. And that attack launched by the glowing woman he summoned, that was quite formidable as well.
I must say...this is rather enjoyable. The Gods implanted false mories in my mind, consistent with this altered reality. As a result, I believe I've begun to develop human-like emotions and desires. I've even found myself enjoying so of their forms of entertainnt.
But I need to prioritize executing my role in this trial as best I can, I can't afford to get distracted. I must stay focused on the task at hand.
Hm...it was quite chaotic and loud a mont ago, but the human civilians in the vicinity have just finished evacuating, and as a result, it is eerily quiet here now.
And according to this ssage I received on this I-Watch device, the Hunters Union has already dispatched several Hunters to this area.
Kaivel Intrix, the Gods ntioned that he's capable of summoning those glowing figures, but in the interest of keeping the trial fair, they only gave us a vague rundown of the abilities possessed by the humans subjected to this trial.
They ntioned that he has multiple thods of boosting his power, and other abilities based on the human concept of the Seven Deadly Sins. Not a particularly helpful description, and besides his summons, the Gods neglected to reveal any further information about him.
Let's see, they also said that there are four others taking this trial. One, Ciel Campbell, possesses a unique form of Magic with explosive properties, while the other four all have those System-based abilities granted by Lord Samsara.
If I rember correctly, one of them, Cleo Nova, can acquire abilities from the so-called Monsters that invaded this world until recently. And of the remaining two, one possesses abilities that embody death, Leto Nex, and the other, Alkimia Alchy, wields chemistry-based abilities.
I have to admit, I took this challenge lightly, I assud this would be much easier. Kaivel Intrix was a lot more formidable that I could have predicted. Despite my superior speed and power, he was able to bridge that gap through skill and experience. Are the others of a similar level to him?
I will need to actively adapt and improve the next ti we clash, or I may well end up defeated in this battle.
I just hope I don't co to regret letting him get away. Well, no matter. No doubt that the Hunters Union in this Sanctuary will increase security and assign Hunters to patrol the area.
Once that happens, the humans targeting will have a much more difficult ti. It has only been about two or three minutes since Kaivel Intrix escaped , the Hunters should show up at any mont n-...
My train of thought was interrupted as I sensed a projectile of energy shooting towards from behind. I quickly spun around, a sphere of dark red energy closing in on .
I veered back slightly and ford a mass of light energy using my Lux Divine Art-...suddenly, I found myself hurtling back through the air as the incoming attack exploded with imnse force as it collided against my defense.
My back slamd against the side of a building with a jarring impact, my shoulders trembling as my back throbbed with pain. Tch, these physical forms are so inconvenient...while the emotions and desires I've developed intrigue , I must say, pain is a most unpleasant sensation.
The Gods said that these artificial bodies that and the other two have been granted have a much duller sense of pain than human bodies do, but this is still quite vexing.
More importantly...what just happened?
My eyes widened as another dark red projectile ca shooting towards , hitting the building I'd crashed onto as I narrowly got out of the way, chunks of rubble flying out in multiple directions as the projectile erupted fiercely upon impact.
I ascended high up into the air, composing myself before focusing on my Electrolocation. I sense several presences in the vicinity...most of the human civilians have already evacuated the area thanks to the earlier commotion, and the Hunters are yet to arrive.
But this is unexpected, I did not think that these humans would make their move so quickly. It has barely been three minutes since the first one retreated, I assud they would at least take a day or two to prepare and plan.
Is this simply desperation? Or-...?
I narrowed my eyes as I spotted Kaivel Intrix, taking aim at with a projectile of dark energy. Wait, what is this? Sothing is strange here.
His Mana is fully replenished, his clothes are different too. Not enough ti has passed for his Mana to have recovered, not to ntion the fact that he looks rested and refreshed.
I veered across as he fired a ray of dark energy at , grazing the side of my right arm, right as a wide net got launched up towards . I unleashed a burst of my Divine Lightning as the net closed in on , a sharp sizzle ringing out as I incinerated the net to ash before it could reach .
That one must be Cleo Nova, I-...
"!"
Hm?
I shot across the air as a fierce blast of flas ca blazing up towards , grimacing as the flas grazed my right foot. I gritted my teeth and unleashed a flurry of Lux blasts all around myself, the humans scattering and weaving through the street and buildings to evade my attacks.
Who is that one, who launched that fla attack? Wait, she isn't human...those fox-like features, I can sense that she is channeling the power of another being through her, that must be a Spirit. But what is she?
"You didn't tell us he was hanging dong, dude, gross," Frowned Ciel Campbell, as the three humans and the strange woman surrounded .
What is this? Where are the other two humans subjected to this trial?
"Huh, he's got that ani-style ray of light covering the bits, though," Responded the strange woman with a wry smile.
"Seriously? We have to fight so exhibitionist weirdo?" Sighed Cleo Nova in exasperation.
Hm. It appears that they are under a grave misunderstanding of my character. Ah, it looks like Kaivel Intrix is about to speak, I shall refrain from attacking until he clears the misunderstanding and-...
"Yeah, guess it slipped my mind. Guess Angels don't feel sha like we do. Either that, or this guy's just a pervert," He shrugged in response.
Wha-...?!
"Th-That is not true! You did this, you-...!" I began indignantly, before abruptly trailing off as he cut off with a barrage of dark energy blasts.
Grr...!
I gritted my teeth seethingly as I shot through the air to evade his attacks, explosive projectiles and blasts of fire shooting in as well as the others joined him.
Curse you, Kaivel Intrix, you shall pay for this slander...!
