Her single phrase of “Mr. Pei,” so polite and alienating, stabbed at Pei Yansi’s heart; he pulled at his lips, a self-deprecating laugh escaping him twice. Even after he had pressed her to this extent, Shen Heyu still had not uttered a single truth to him.
“Shen Heyu, I’ve already given you a chance to speak up. If there’s anything you can’t handle by yourself, you can choose to ask for help, and I will certainly do my best to assist you.”
“Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Pei, but I haven’t encountered such a matter. I would like you to leave here imdiately.”
“Fine. Shen Heyu, if there’s anything you won’t share with , it can’t be concealed forever. If I have soone investigate, they will eventually uncover the matter. You’d better not let find out you’ve been lying to ,” Pei Yansi said as he stared intently into Shen Heyu’s eyes.
Yet Shen Heyu’s eyes were like a layer of thin ice, revealing no excess emotions. Pei Yansi finally lifted his hand and tugged at his tie forcefully before turning and leaving.
Watching his retreating figure, Shen Heyu’s body, tense as iron, finally relaxed. She raised her hand intending to support herself, but to her surprise, Gu Siyu took hold of it.
The mont Shen Heyu touched Gu Siyu’s hand, it was as if a current rushed through her, bringing her spirit back as she looked at him, noticing her pale expression.
“Why are your hands so cold?” Gu Siyu held Shen Heyu’s hand, noticing the cold sweat in her palm and her scarily pale complexion. He lifted his other hand to feel the temperature of her forehead.
Just then, Shen Heyu noticed an angry figure quickly approaching and stopping abruptly in front of her. She looked up to find Pei Yansi clutching his fists tightly.
Pei Yansi, fuming, clenched his fists like steel. He glared fiercely at Shen Heyu and Gu Siyu, especially since one of Gu Siyu’s hands was still holding Shen Heyu’s, while the other covered her forehead. Their relationship seed as intertwined as it could get.
“Wow, Shen Heyu, you’re so eager to get involved with another man right after breaking off your engagent with Lu Yi. I really underestimated you. I shouldn’t have helped you end that engagent,” Pei Yansi hissed.
Pei Yansi had been angered away by Shen Heyu’s words just monts ago. As he stepped outside, he suddenly rembered sothing very important he needed to tell her—that he had helped her cancel her engagent. Prepared to swallow his pride, he turned back to find Shen Heyu.
But what he hadn’t expected to see upon his return was this scene, which made him so furious he felt like his lungs would burst. Angrily, he walked over and stared daggers at Shen Heyu’s small face.
Upon seeing Pei Yansi, Shen Heyu almost subconsciously withdrew her hand that Gu Siyu had been holding. She hadn’t intended to hold hands with him.
“Why have you co back? Didn’t I make myself very clear just now? I hope you won’t disturb Yuexue’s rest at the hospital in the future,” said Shen Heyu, frowning. What on earth did Pei Yansi want? Surely he couldn’t actually be suspicious; or maybe his investigation had already unearthed sothing, which was why he was so unrelentingly dogged.
Pei Yansi took a deep breath. He turned his head to scrutinize Gu Siyu’s face, then turned back and sneered at Shen Heyu, “I must say, Shen Heyu, you really do have an eye for n with handso faces and nice figures.”
“But are you that desperate, Shen Heyu? Not long after breaking up with , you rushed to get a marriage certificate with Lu Yi. That wasn’t enough, and recently I saw you and Lu Yi wearing each other out, so out of the kindness of my heart, I helped you annul your marriage.”
“I thought that after helping you escape from that rash marriage decision, you would choose to live your life properly, but unexpectedly, you moved on quickly to hook up with Yuexue’s attending physician. Can’t you survive without a man?”
Shen Heyu shivered all over. She widened her eyes as she listened to Pei Yansi. Each of his words felt like needles piercing her heart, leaving it riddled with holes, tornting her severely.
“You’re right, I am such a despicable woman, so you should stop bothering from now on. As for you helping annul my marriage to Lu Yi, I really should thank you properly. Therefore, when you marry Chen Lingng, I’ll surely send a very generous gift as repaynt.”
Shen Heyu lifted her gaze to look at Pei Yansi, her every word and letter also like needles, leaving his heart full of holes.
“Shen Heyu!” Pei Yansi nearly gnashed his teeth as he called out her na.
