“What did you say? Say that again?” Pei Yansi couldn’t believe what he was hearing from Shen Heyu, nor did he want to believe the words she had just uttered.
Shen Heyu was holding Gu Siyu’s hand tightly, and sensing her nervousness, Gu Siyu decided to play along. He lifted his hand and gently patted the back of Shen Heyu’s hand to reassure her.

Pei Yansi was staring intently at Shen Heyu and Gu Siyu, seeing his disbelief, Gu Siyu pulled out the phone from inside his white coat, lit up the screen, and showed Pei Yansi the screensaver.
“Now do you believe it? This photo was taken about four to five years ago of Shen Heyu, a picture I sneakily snapped when I first fell in love with her, and it has been my phone screensaver ever since.”
Initially, Pei Yansi didn’t believe a word Gu Siyu said, but now, seeing the screensaver on his phone, he had to believe it, because the Shen Heyu in that photo was indeed her from four or five years ago.
Pei Yansi sneered coldly, mocking himself for turning out to be the real fool.
He turned and mocked Shen Heyu, “Shen Heyu, your skills at enticing n are truly peaking. You started setting long lines to catch big fish four to five years ago, didn’t you? Did you calculate from the beginning that one day you would leave and then be with him?”
Hearing Pei Yansi’s words, Shen Heyu unconsciously tightened her grip on Gu Siyu’s hand, her nails digging into his arm, causing Gu Siyu to wince, but he maintained a calm and composed deanor, acting as if nothing happened.

Shen Heyu felt genuinely sorry. She had used Gu Siyu as a shield, and in doing so, she had bruised his hand terribly. She bowed her head deeply.
Seeing Shen Heyu’s guilty expression, Gu Siyu gave a soft laugh. “It’s just a minor injury. I get hurt often, and much worse than this. Besides, I’m not offended by what you said. I ant every word. I’ve secretly loved you deeply since I first saw you five years ago.”
