Chapter 358: Chapter 358 Block

When he left, he passed by his and Shen Heyu’s bridal chamber and saw a sliver of light shining through the crack of the door, which made him pause montarily.

Pei Yansi hesitated for only a second before pushing the door open and entering.

Shen Heyu was changing her clothes in the room, not expecting him to suddenly co in. She scread in surprise, quickly pulling her clothes to cover her upper body.

Pei Yansi was taken aback for a mont, seeing Shen Heyu’s smooth shoulders, he gave a slight smile, “Is there a part of your body I haven’t seen?”

Why the need to cover up?

Seeing his resigned expression, Shen Heyu angrily blurted out, “Pervert!”

“Turn around, let get dressed first!”

Shen Heyu said furiously, her face flushed with anger. Pei Yansi, seeing this, could only helplessly smile and turn around, his back facing her.

He heard sparse sounds behind him, and his mind involuntarily recalled the tis when Shen Heyu was beneath him, her face flushed, her skin white as snow, her figure perfect.

Thinking of this, he felt a surge of impulse in his lower abdon.

He closed his eyes, quickly suppressing the urge.

At this mont, the sounds of Shen Heyu changing seed to torture him.

Finally, her voice ca from behind, “Okay.”

Pei Yansi then turned around and saw that she was neatly dressed. She adjusted her collar and said impatiently, “What now?”

She spoke with irritation.

He had already left, so why co back?

Pei Yansi said, “I have to make a trip to the Chen family.”

Shen Heyu paused, not particularly surprised as if she had expected it all along.

She rely smiled faintly, “Go ahead, why do you need to tell .”

Pei Yansi, seeing her indifferent façade, could see through her pretense of nonchalance in her eyes.

His heart was glad; at least it proved that she still cared about him.

He quickly walked up to her, pulling her into his arms, his chin resting on her hair, inhaling her scent, “I’ll be back soon, I won’t stay the night there, wait for at ho.”

Shen Heyu scoffed inwardly, but her face remained calm as she coldly said, “You just recently said you wouldn’t go to the Chen family.”

“How credible do you think your words are now? How long do you plan on making wait, until dawn or midnight? Do you have a specific ti?”

Shen Heyu was relentless.

Pei Yansi looked into her eyes, but her aggression did not anger him, for he knew she cared.

Pei Yansi stroked her hair, “I swear, it won’t be long. I’m just going to settle so old matters.”

Shen Heyu said nothing more, as she was at a loss for what else to say to him. Whether she believed him or not, nothing would change.

He would surely et Chen Lingng, and she would inevitably wait for him here. Even if she didn’t intentionally wait, she couldn’t leave this place, which turned into waiting of sorts.

As for what might happen between him and Chen Lingng, none of it was within Shen Heyu’s control.

The only thing she could change was how much she chose to care. Pei Yansi was no longer worth it.

She too must leave his side.

Pei Yansi heard no further response from her and didn’t linger any longer. He bowed his head and gave a final kiss on the corner of Shen Heyu’s lips, then turned and left.

Leaving Heyu alone in the room, she couldn’t help but recall how, six years earlier, she had often found herself abandoned here at night.

He was either eting soone else, going to the company, or heading to so other place. In any case, he never provided her with an exact location or a return ti.

During the years they were husband and wife, most of the ti, she was living in what felt like a bereft marriage.

Now, hearing the sound of the car fading from below, Yansi’s car gradually moving away and finally leaving, the sound disappeared from her ears.

Everything seed to revert to those years ago.

It was just like when she had been abandoned.

Nothing had ever changed.

Neither her feelings for Pei Yansi nor Pei Yansi’s indifference towards her.

As Heyu thought this, a trace of a mocking smile spread across her lips. It was laughable that even at this point, she still harbored a faint hope for him.

A dog can’t stop eating its own vomit—she should no longer hold any expectations for him.

By the ti Pei Yansi reached the Chen Family, it was already past seven in the evening.

In the Chen Family dining room, dishes filled the table. Many people were seated around the table, yet no one touched their chopsticks as they all waited.

Only when Pei Yansi appeared did they show different expressions—annoyance, disgust, and so a sigh of relief.

Only Wenzhou remained indifferent throughout, never giving Pei Yansi a glance.

Grandpa Chen, seated at the head of the table, saw Pei Yansi approaching and coughed twice to cover his lips, prompting a maid to imdiately add a set of utensils.

Pei Yansi stood by the dining table, looking at the empty seat specially left for him.

His voice was cold, “I’ll skip dinner. Let’s get straight to business. Whatever you want from , just say it. What Pei Yansi can give, I won’t hold back. But think carefully this ti, it has to be worth a human life, whether it’s money or sothing else.”

“After this, I won’t involve myself with the Chen Family again.”

Hearing this, Wenzhou slightly lifted his head and gave him a look, but ultimately didn’t say anything.

Grandpa Chen suppressed his anger and stared coldly at him, “Are you really willing to destroy years of familial affection for a woman who has nothing?”

Pei Yansi’s eyes turned icy, “She’s not worthless.”

“She has .”

Everyone was stunned.

How profound the emotions must be for one to believe they are soone’s whole world, or to consider soone else their entire world.

To say such words.

Grandpa Chen said, “Chen Lingng is injured, yet you haven’t visited her these days. After so many years of affection, your actions are exceedingly cold and heartless.”

Pei Yansi replied coldly, “After so many years without seeing each other, any supposed affection has been worn almost thin. Besides, visiting her is my prerogative, not doing so is also within my rights.”

“Are you trying to force to drink by pressing my head down? To compel to go?”

Pei Yansi let out a cold laugh, “I was unaware that the Chen Family could now ride roughshod over .”

His words carried a threatening undertone.

After so many years building his influence in this worldly society, Pei Yansi was far beyond what the Chen Family could contend with.

Yet now they were threatening him, Pei Yansi found it nothing short of laughable.
