Chapter 544: Chapter 523 Infiltration (2nd Update)

“Let’s do it this way!”

Caral took out a “Trans-ti Recycler” from his backpack, a gadget given to him by Rosh.

“Our current mission is to kidnap the supervisors and attach these devices to them, just like catching pets,” Caral said as he handed ten Trans-ti Recyclers to Swordsman. “From now on, whenever you et any beautiful female NPC, just attach this to her and stop asking , okay?”

“But… the instructions for the device say it needs full cooperation from the other party to successfully teleport,” Swordsman, of course, also had a Trans-ti Recycler.

Their two missions at the Sustainable Sanctuary included promoting Divine Power levelling and levelling mbers below the supervisor level up to supervisor level; for those already at that rank, they were to use the Trans-ti Recycler to recycle them away.

“Then beat them until they cooperate! Don’t you also beat them to half health before catching them when you’re hunting pets?” Caral suspected Swordsman had never played an MMORPG.

“Won’t hitting them drop their favorability?”

“You don’t know those girls, where would any favorability co from?” Caral said in frustration.

“Spirit’s favorability might be negative…”

“… Swordsman, just leave the team. I’ll solo queue. Are girls really that important?”

Caral really didn’t get if this guy ca down to play the instance or if he was here to find a match.

“…” Swordsman fell silent.

Caral was a bit stunned, but then he glanced at the barrage in his livestream.

The Cola Frenzy Team and Raccoon Live had signed roughly a hundred hours of livestream contract; though Caral didn’t quite enjoy livestreaming, he still had to fulfil the club’s mission.

So now, a bunch of comnts in the livestream were scrolling things like “The host is too cruel,” “Wasn’t the female host who got on well with Swordsman married recently?” “No champion and no girls, let’s pretend to cry.”

“What the hell got married?” Caral still didn’t understand the situation.

“It’s like your crush getting married to soone else!”

“I kind of get it.” Caral wasn’t completely oblivious to emotions, but he couldn’t think of any way to comfort Swordsman.

This sowhat delicate silence broke with the lodious song that echoed over the area.

“Do you feel it?”

Caral’s expression instantly turned serious as his status bar displayed two new debuffs: “Minor Chard” and “Minor ntal Disarray.”

“I feel it, this is an attack with ntal attributes!”

Swordsman also heard the eerie song right away and saw the sa two debuffs pop up in his status bar, prompting him to imdiately enter the combat mode, wearing his cat-eye mask.

As Swordsman entered the state of inner sight, the debuffs from the song kept flickering, lingering in a state of ‘about to vanish.’

“Strange, we haven’t been spotted. Is soone performing an opera down there? Let’s go have a look…”

Caral ca here for a Prison Warden prefixed NPC of the Sustainable Sanctuary, as Rosh had already entered most of the supervisors’ information into the Spirit’s “NPC Encyclopedia.”

There were just three NPCs managing the prison at the Sustainable Sanctuary. The one Caral was tracking was the most powerful Prison Warden, and he intended to extract Thorne’s whereabouts from him!

Upon seeing Caral leap from the tower, Swordsman hurriedly followed, both players displaying striking prowess as Caral landed on a high wall as quietly as a cat.

“This is my first ti playing stealth in the Spirit,” Caral crouched on the high wall, observing the area below that resembled a dieval manor, constructed with ancient stone bricks.

It was hard to imagine a place like the Sustainable Sanctuary, which pooled the highest level of celestial technology, having such dieval architecture.

But the architectural styles varied across the Sustainable Sanctuary’s regions, particularly the areas where the governors resided. These were populated by governors from dieval world ascensions, likely built this way out of nostalgia for their ho.

“Crouch down.” Swordsman quickly slipped into his role, gesturing Caral to crouch.

From his inner sight perspective, this dieval manor was not as ancient as it appeared. The Sustainable Sanctuary’s various anti-intrusion devices filled every corner of the manor, virtually leaving no blind spots.

“I don’t have any hawk eyes, inner sight, or infrared skills… which part below is safe?” Caral surveyed the area, noting only three Hunters patrolling the manor’s front garden. He was confident he could take them down instantaneously and stuff their mouths with advertisents.

The problem was that such action would be noticed.

“I’ll try…” Swordsman pulled out four “Intrusion Bullets” from his backpack, obtained from the divine gun Alma. These were items only the governor could possess and could paralyze the Sustainable Sanctuary’s devices for a while.

These bullets were thrown by Swordsman, hitting several detectors under the lawn. Once the devices were paralyzed, Caral swooped down from above, grabbing one patrolling Hunter by the neck.

Before the Hunter could even react, he was dragged into the bushes on the other side, and before he could shout, a sharp Moonlight Sword was already thrust into his mouth.

“Shh…” Caral pressed his knee against the chest of the Hunter and with his other hand, pulled out the Shadowless Sword, damaging the connection part of the Hunter’s living armor helt.

The Hunter looked at Caral with a surprised expression.

“Have you ever heard of Spirit Leveling?” Caral began his life’s first advertising campaign.

The poor Hunter nodded slightly. The story of Spirit Leveling on the Path to Ascension had almost beco an urban legend in the Sustainable Sanctuary. Many had heard of it, but few had tried it.

“Spirit Leveling Studio is now offering a huge discount, Governor leveling one round for twenty Divine Power Crystals, and under eight hundred gets you a Governor! Isn’t that exciting?” Caral said.

The Hunter was speechless… Now that I’ve stuffed the sword in soone else’s mouth, I still want to wear a ‘I made a profit’ expression. Luckily today, Caral switched to a more normal Swordsman outfit; otherwise, wearing a cola can costu might have baffled the Hunter even more.

“If you’re tempted, go buy it fast. Also, here’s our studio’s promotional ad. Your boss, Governor Alma, personally endorses it. Rember to check it out when you wake up,” Caral, unusually talkative to a monster, said.

After finishing his promotion and receiving a system notification of ‘Successful Promotion, Earned Promotional Points X1,’ he took out three bottles of master-level sleep potions from his backpack and poured them into the Hunter’s mouth.

The Hunters truly were heroes from their own worlds in the past, with unusually high resistances to abnormalities. It took three bottles before he finally fell asleep.

Caral stuffed a Projection Stone containing Governor Alma’s recorded advertisent into the Hunter’s hand and popped his head out of the bushes to see Thorne had already dealt with the other three Hunters.

“You don’t want promotional points?”

After arriving successfully at the manor’s side door, Caral asked him, noting that Thorne surely hadn’t claid this event’s ‘currency’ due to his swift handling.

“There’s nothing I want in the Rosh Store,” Thorne said bluntly.

“You still haven’t figured out the Spirit’s equipnt system—all equipnt can be used as crafting material, didn’t you know? Now’s not the ti for this,” Caral replied, sowhat envious that Thorne didn’t have a collecting obsession. Caral now had a severe compulsion to collect every piece of equipnt and weapon for a Swordsman… but he guessed it wouldn’t be long before it spread to other classes.

Many of the items in the Rosh Store that could be exchanged with promotional points were limited editions. Caral had to clear out the store’s inventory before returning to Biland Island.

Caral and Thorne smoothly entered the manor, but the closer they got, the stronger the impact of the singing on Caral.

The negative attribute ‘spiritual confusion’ changed from minor to moderate.

“Damn, where is the source of this singing?” Caral, who was playing Spirit in a gaming pod, felt his head growing fuzzy from this spiritual confusion, instead of just a simple drop in attributes.

“Over there.”

Guided by Thorne, Caral quickly found the source of the singing in a sowhat retro, luxurious theater at the manor. The mont Caral approached the theater, he held his breath.

Because there were more than thirty Governors in the theater, and if they were exposed, their fate would be no different than that of a trainwreck… it would an a wipeout for the two of them.

Caral’s gaze shifted toward the stage above… a rmaid, whose lower half was soaking in a transparent fish tank, was the source of the singing.

‘Sea Demon God Ayula, Level 60, Lord-tier creature, Health 1541300/1674555.’

The mont Caral locked eyes with the rmaid on stage, who had stopped singing and turned her gaze towards the back of the stage, towards the place where Caral was hiding.

He was discovered!

In an instant, Caral wanted to draw the Moonlight Sword and start a massacre, but Thorne placed a hand on Caral’s wrist.

“Damn it, Dunce! Even if you want to capture her alive, at least beat her half to death first,” Caral said.

“We can’t win, it’s ti to run,” Thorne said.

He pointed to the auditorium below, where the other Governors had already noticed Caral and Thorne.

Instantly, a multitude of data sheets and the kind of health bars seen only in boss fights appeared on Caral’s screen.

No fewer than thirty-eight Lord-tier monsters, with the highest health reaching a staggering seven million and the lowest hovering around eight hundred thousand!

Not all the Governors in the Sustainable Sanctuary were weak enough for Spirits to solo; many required team strategies!

But they couldn’t escape. The mont Caral was spotted by the rmaid, an ‘air wall’ typical of instance battles appeared behind them. Caral should have realized earlier that this was not an arena but a brutal PVE world.

In PVE, there are always so monsters whose attributes far exceed those of players.

Finally, under the gaze of these thirty-eight Lord-tier monsters and encouraged by the barrage, Caral spoke out.

“Everyone… have you heard of Spirit Leveling?”
