The promise of a limitless future stirred sothing deep within Daniel, a call his SSS-Rank talent couldn’t resist.

He looked at Principal Finch, his earlier awe now solidified into a firm, unshakeable resolve.

"Tell what I need to do, Principal. I accept the challenge."

Alistair’s smile grew, a blend of proud warmth and the focused satisfaction of a master ready to begin his greatest work.

"I knew you would, my boy. Your will is as formidable as your power."

He gestured towards a large, holographic star chart that glowed to life on one of the workshop walls, displaying not star systems, but detailed maps of Astralis Academy and its surrounding sectors.

"To reforge your foundation, we must first break down the old one. We will strip away the chaotic, assimilated energies and replace them with pure and potent, foundational essences.

This requires four specific, top-tier materials, each representing a core aspect of physical existence.

They are exceedingly rare and very difficult to acquire."

The Principal pointed to four blinking coordinates on the map.

"First," he began, his voice taking on the tone of a seasoned quest-giver, "you will need the heart of a Ten-Thousand-Year-Old Ginseng.

This is not so common herb, Daniel. It is a sentient plant that has absorbed the life force of the earth for millennia.

It resides in the Eastern Suburbs dicinal Garden, a place heavily guarded not just by Academy botanists, but by the very flora itself, which has beco semi-sentient and extrely territorial.

Expect to face plant-based guardians of imnse power."

He then gestured to another point on the map, a dark, ominous icon representing a deep mining complex.

"Second, you must acquire a fist-sized piece of Luminark Stone.

It is a unique, living mineral that grows only in the deepest, most energy-rich veins of the Western Suburbs Mine.

The mine is a dangerous, unstable maze, ho to aggressive rock-beasts and bursts of reality-warping energy.

Many have entered seeking its riches, few have returned."

His finger moved again, to a heavily fortified structure in the southern sector.

"Third, the Everfrost Aetherium. It is a crystal of absolute purity and cold, ford under imnse dinsional pressure.

A single, perfect specin is kept under lock and key in the Southern Suburbs High-Security Warehouse, a vault protected by the most advanced technological and magical defenses the Academy can muster.

Infiltrating it will be a test of stealth and cunning, not brute force."

Finally, his gaze sharpened as he pointed to the last coordinate, a vast, wild region littered with danger markers.

"And lastly, the most crucial component: a vial of pure Erymanthian Boar Blood. There is a single, ancient Erymanthian Boar that lairs in the Northern Suburbs Hunting Ground.

It is a legendary beast, a creature of imnse power whose very steps make the ground tremble.

It is not as transcendent as the Golden-Armored Blue Ape, but it is a true, ancient dragon, and it does not part with its blood willingly.

You will have to hunt it, Daniel. And it will be a hunt unlike any you have experienced."

The wind seed to howl outside the workshop window, as if in response to the epic scale of the quest laid out before him.

Four impossible tasks, each a legendary feat in its own right.

Any other recruit would have paled, would have deed it an insurmountable challenge.

Daniel didn’t even hesitate.

"Consider it done," he said, his voice calm, his eyes burning with a fierce, excited light.

This was a true challenge, a worthy quest. It was a chance not just to gain power, but to earn it, to forge it with his own hands, his own will.

The SSS-Talent humd within him with the hunger for assimilation and the thrill of creation.

The Principal chuckled, a deep, satisfied sound.

"Excellent. But there is a catch, my boy. A very important one."

He walked over to an old, heavily reinforced tal chest in the corner of the workshop.

It was bound with glowing runes and sealed with a heavy, complex lock.

He placed his hand upon it, and the runes flared. With a deep, resonant click, the lock disengaged.

"To truly reforge your foundation," Alistair said, his expression turning serious, "you cannot rely on the imnse power you have already acquired.

That power is the very thing we seek to purify.

You must face these challenges not as a Level 12 ascendant, but as a mortal man.

You must rely on your wits, your courage, and the fundantal skills you have learned, not the overwhelming force you command."

He opened the chest. Inside, on a bed of dark velvet, lay two pairs of heavy tal bands, one for the wrists, the other for the ankles.

They were engraved with complex, glowing runes of suppression and sealing.

"These," the Principal explained, his voice grim, "are Strength-Sealing Manacles.

The mont you put them on, they will seal away your imnse attributes, your S-grade skills, your class abilities, everything.

They will reduce your physical capabilities to that of an ordinary, un-Awakened human, and a rather weak one at that, due to their imnse weight.

They will not, however, seal away your mind, your knowledge, or your SSS-Rank talent itself, though its direct application will be severely limited.

You will feel powerless, Daniel. More so than you have ever felt before."

He looked Daniel directly in the eye, his gaze piercing.

"Once worn, they cannot be removed until you have gathered all four materials and returned to .

If you abandon the quest, you must return here, and only I can release you.

This is the true test. Can you succeed when stripped of the very power that defines you?"

This was the true crucible. A test of the man, not the monster. It was both terrifying and thrilling.

Daniel t the Principal’s gaze without flinching. "I understand," he said simply.

He walked to the chest, his movents deliberate.

He picked up the heavy wristbands. Without a mont’s hesitation, he snapped them onto his wrists.

"BOOM!"

The sensation was instantaneous and utterly devastating.

It felt like his very soul was being ripped out of him and shoved into a tiny, lead-lined box.

The imnse power that had always surrounded him, the strength to shatter mountains, the speed to outrun sound vanished in an instant.

The world, which had seed to move in slow motion around his heightened senses, suddenly snapped back into sharp, abrupt normal speed.

The heavy bands, which would have been weightless to him monts before, now felt like solid anvils, dragging his arms down with a force that made his bones ache.

With a grunt of effort, he bent down and fastened the leg bands.

He tried to stand, and the ground seed to tremble, not from his power, but from the sheer, shuddering effort it took just to get to his feet.

"The journey of a thousand miles, Daniel," the Principal said softly, his voice filled with a teacher’s pride, "begins with a single, difficult step."

Daniel took that step. And another.

He felt the crushing weight of his own clothes, the staggering distance of the ten ters to his car, the almost impossible effort it would take to simply open the door.

He felt weak, vulnerable, utterly mortal.

A slow, determined grin spread across his face.

This was going to be the greatest challenge of his life. And he couldn’t wait to conquer it.

His path of cultivation had officially, and painfully, begun.
