Chapter 95: Kill and Return
There was a river before White... a river of blood.
And floating atop these rivers were corpses.
White recognized them.
They were the students, ripped apart into pieces, their organs strewn around, but it wasn’t just students.
He could see instructors, amongst those corpses.
The buildings had been crushed to rubble, leaving a wide plain of massacre before him.
Unconsciously, White turned his head up.
The place that had been said to belong only to the best of the best.
The sight of what had replaced it made him unconsciously take a couple of steps backwards.
"Is... is that?"
[A True Black Hole.]
It was a gigantic black mass, spinning around with collapsed space fragments hanging all around it.
It was pitch black.
So black it seemed to draw all light into itself.
Those large, beautiful crimson castles.
Those sculpted, glass-like structures etched with runes that made White hope to one day rise beyond them.
All of that had been replaced by a sprawling black hole that had devoured every last one of them.
"Run."
The word echoed in his head, and he froze.
’Hey system, is that you?’
White thought,
[What?]
The system panel flashed, and a chill crawled onto White’s spine.
"Run. They’re coming for you. Run."
Right after,
White felt the cloud about a thousand meters away part as something ripped the entire sky into two.
BOOOOOOOOM!
A deep crack appeared where White stood, and his body glitched out of existence.
With insane speed, he raced through the rubble, running as far as his legs could carry him, but... he was too slow.
The droning sound behind him grew louder and louder as he continued racing forward.
At the corner of his gaze, he could see them.
There were three students, just like him, but... their eyes.
There was something about their eyes, beyond the fact that they were pitch black.
Dark veins crawled across their faces and necks, and from their backs sprouted a single pitch-black wing.
With a single beat, they tore through the clouds, moving at three times White’s speed.
Based on their smiles that bordered on insanity, one thing was sure to White.
’They’re not students.’
They’re Otherworlders. Those that have seized control of the students’ bodies.
CREAAAK!
White’s teeth ground against each other as he forced himself to run faster.
His speed did increase, but... it still wasn’t enough.
A burning sensation reached him, worsening with every second, and he turned his head behind just in time to witness a powerful column of dark flame pouring outwards towards him.
Immediately, he jumped up, rolling himself into a ball as the flame blasted onto him.
The power...
It was like being rammed head-on by a fighter jet flying at three times the speed of sound, and what’s worse, it wasn’t a jet, but flames.
White became a mass of dark flames, hurtling forward and crossing a hundred meters in seconds.
Three mountains, each over 200 meters in height, were reduced to rubble as he blasted through all three repeatedly.
The third managed to reduce the motion, allowing the fourth mountain to catch him as he carved a cave into its base.
VROOOOM!
The air flapped once, and all three students landed on the ground.
"Didn’t those Supernaturals say they’ve slaughtered every last one of them?"
A female student, her pitch-black hair floating as if gravity no longer held it, called out in a voice that sounded like five people speaking at once.
"I can feel the reek of a new Otherworldler on him."
"Seems like he’s been stuck in that coffin and managed to avoid getting crushed to dust during the mountain’s collapse."
Another student.
This one, a burly 2-meter-tall man with full, crimson-colored hair, said as he landed beside the girl.
"We kill him and return. That was the command."
The third said.
He was shorter, about 1.7 meters tall, with the same dark hair and eyes, but there was something about him.
The tattoo had spread across his torso, forming a blurry image resembling a demonic face.
He walked towards the mountain, disappearing into the darkness.
Silence at first, then,
BOOOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOOOM!
The sound of attacks ringing out followed next.
"To think he’s still awake even after your Dark Hell Breath?"
The burly man said to the lady, who scoffed.
"Eraglion will end him soon."
She said, and following her words,
CRUMBLE!
The entire mountain came crumbling to dust.
Before it completely crashed to the ground, a figure shot out, blowing erratically backwards, only for his motion to be stopped by a hand from the burly man.
"Eraglion?"
They asked, and their eyes widened in disbelief.
Eraglion fell onto one knee, and in the next moment,
SPLURRRRT
A line appeared on his stomach, and all of his organs came gushing onto the ground.
"That bastard!"
Eraglion said, his hands trying to stop his spilling organs, but in the next moment, his body lost its strength, and he fell face-first onto the ground, all vestiges of life fading away from him.
"He died?"
BAAAAANG!
A part of the mountain crumbled, and a figure appeared, half-crouched to the ground.
The Otherworlders standing had their jaws drop when they saw him.
It was the one they had been chasing down, but now, he looked unrecognizable.
There was not a part of him that wasn’t laced in scars, blood spurting out of his skin and ripping out of him like a broken tap, yet hanging from his mouth and dangling was flesh.
The flesh of Eraglion, still dripping with blood and bits of intestines.
"He ripped his stomach out with his teeth?"
"Kill and return..."
White forced out through the gaps of his teeth as he spat out the flesh in his mouth.
"Hehehe."
An insane cackle, followed by a sprawling dark grin, an insane grin crawled across his face till his expression shifted completely.
It was like that of one caught within pain and extreme pleasure.
"You’ll need to cause me much more pain for that to happen."
