Chapter 81: Golden
The two left the open field led by Desther and went in another direction from the majority.
From the looks of it, Noah has co really prepared.
When he opened the bag, Desther realized that it was truly complete with essential tools, kits, and supplies for wilderness survival.
The most important thing, though, was the ammunition that he bought.
A duffle bag, stuffed to the brim, was presented in front of Desther.
When he opened it, he saw boxes upon boxes of .357 bullets that he severely lacked. Although he already has better attacking thods, the cold touch of the revolver’s handle still has a different feeling than firing a bullet out of thin air.
But... this amount of bullets, isn’t it too excessive?
"Why did you bring so much?"
From the packaging, Desther realized that each box contains 50 rounds. There should be around twenty of them by his rough estimate alone. That would make it a thousand rounds of .357 bullets.
"Ahh? Didn’t you say to bring as many as I can? And besides, the more the better, right? With this, we can also kill more monsters?" Noah reasoned out.
Well, it was true that Desther indeed told him that. But he did not expect him to actually bring this many. As a matter of fact, bringing around fifty bullets would be enough for him.
Unlike before, the revolver was no longer his main attacking thod. It could be said that he was only using it out of nostalgia or so sort.
"Never mind." Desther shook his head, not thinking about it anymore.
"Oh, right. Here’s the .357 revolver that I got as well. My dad would not give
this much bullet if I don’t even have such a gun," Noah stated, handing out another revolver toward him.
When he looked at it, Desther could not help but widen his eyes in surprise.
This revolver was actually golden and very luxurious. There was a dragon-like creature circling around the revolver’s body, from its handle all the way to the muzzle, where it looked like the dragon would spit the bullets that would be fired.
It looked straight out of a shooter ga where the developers were opening an event for a revolver skin involving the entire server.
One look and one could tell that this was hella expensive to make.
Comparing it to his ordinary silver-colored revolver without any design, it was obvious which one was made ticulously.
"That looked like a toy..." Desther could not but comnt as he took the golden revolver from Noah’s hands.
He wondered if it was even functional due to its extravagant and luxurious design.
As he took it, Desther felt the cold touch of tal touching his skin. From the looks of it, he was wrong in regards to its handle. Only a small part of it was wood, while the remaining parts were made of tal. It was also very heavy. At least twice as much as his silver revolver.
He opened the cylinder and spun it to get a feel of its rotation.
It spun nicely and with a good sound.
With a flick, the cylinder went back in. Desther pulled and locked the hamr before he clicked the trigger multiple tis.
Every click of the trigger, the cylinder turned, and each chamber received the hamr with a good gap.
He pointed it forward and realized it has a unique line of sight. The tip of its muzzle seed like the nose of the dragon it was embroidered with, while the rear sight looked like the dragon’s horns or claws.
Overall, Desther felt it was nice.
The design and the feel were there.
Even a self-proclaid low-key person like him felt the revolver was truly good.
"I’ll take this," he said as he looked at Noah.
Noah, on the other hand, had his eyes widen in surprise upon seeing all of it.
He could not help but be amazed at how masterful Desther handled the revolver.
It felt like he was seeing his father in front of him. Playing with guns in their hands as if they were just re toys.
It was only at this mont that he realized that Desther was truly not as simple as he initially thought.
It seed like his decision to hire him was correct.
"You can have it. And uhm, by the way. Is it possible to carry
for the points and earn a good ranking? Top 50, will do. My dad wanted
to earn a place at the top in exchange for all of this..." Noah smiled wryly as he made the request.
Requesting 20 boxes of revolver bullets was never easy. Desther’s request was very important, so he kinda told his dad that he would get a good place in the upcoming activity in exchange for it.
Desther paused for a mont and thought that it would actually not be a problem. Not to ntion top 50, he was even confident in carrying him to top 10.
"Wait. You already know that there will be rankings for this upcoming activity?"
"Uhhh, yes? My father told
about it."
Hearing that, Desther felt like he already knew what was going on.
’No wonder there were multiple students that ca overly prepared. From the looks of it, they might have so advanced inside information in regard to this school-wide activity.’
’No matter. It’s their way of survival, I guess.’ He thought, not blaming those who got information in advance.
Since they got it, that ans it was part of their capability and strength. It was just a matter of perspective.
"Anyway. We need to find a spot to camp and make our base first. After we find the perfect spot, we can slowly explore the surroundings and kill every monster we find."
"Right, you will be responsible for our lodging, and at the sa ti, you will be the one to deliver our spoils to the main base to get them recorded."
And with that, the duo walked even further than the main base set up by the teachers.
