Chapter 80: Dean Luthor
They were now in a huge clearing in the middle of Veldora Woods.
More than a hundred students gathered in front of a wooden podium, and a man with white hair stood before it.
’Dean Luthor,’ Desther thought, recognizing the man before the podium.
Publicly known as a Tier 4 Combat Awakened Professional, Dean Luthor was famous in and out of school.
It was known that he was among the people who founded Radiant Shelter, along with the city lord from the Baltazar family and the family head of the Cruz family.
A Tier 3 Awakened Professional was already very powerful. In most cases, they could already be in charge of a city shelter.
But in Radiant Shelter, there were a total of three Tier 4 Awakened Professional, making it a desirable city shelter considered safe by many.
If a Tier 3 Awakened Professional could be in charge of a basic city shelter, then a Tier 4 Awakened Professional could already be considered a strong governor.
It must be noted that Arisol Cortez, publicly known as Bloodthirst Warrior, was at Tier 5, also known as one of the strongest in the whole world, their level ranging from Level 61 to Level 80.
Most awakeners that awakened during the Age of Descent were also around this level.
To scale, a Tier 3 Awakened Professional already has the capability to destroy villages in one strike.
Desther could not imagine what a Tier 4 Awakened Professional could do.
Tier 4 Awakened Professionals also have another na. They were called Grandmasters by the masses.
And such a Tier 4 Awakened Professional, also known as a Grandmaster, was now in front of him and many others, preparing to do a speech.
"A pleasant morning, everyone!" Dean Luthor paused as the students as well as the teachers responded to his greeting.
He nodded his head and took a glance at the students below.
"Today is the day that you will embark on your first steps outside the safety of the shelter after many years of being protected by it.
As you prepare for your upcoming field activity, rember that each of you represents not only your own potential but also the future of this institution as well as the nation. You are valued, important, and capable of achieving great things through this experience.
This activity is an opportunity to grow, learn, and strengthen your skills beyond the corners of your classroom. Learn to embrace the challenge, and grow stronger through it.
Above all, you must prioritize your safety at all tis. No matter the achievent, safety is more important for your well-being. Stay alert, support one another, and make wise decisions throughout your journey.
Fear not the monsters that surround you. But fear what would happen to you and your family if the monsters remained loose.
Today, and in the upcoming period of ti. All of you must strive to reach and be a bonafide Awakened Mortal. Reach Tier 1 and get your combat classes. Bring honor to yourself, bring honor to your family, and bring honor to your nation. Good Luck!"
The students clapped as Dean Luthor stepped off the podium after delivering the speech.
His speech was very effective, to say the least.
After all, the student really got motivated and got more fired up upon hearing it.
After Dean Luthor stepped off, another teacher went forward to give another speech. The content was mostly the sa, but it was not as effective as Dean Luthor’s.
The teacher also stated that the activity would actually include a point system. The class with the most points would get a reward from the school.
Making this field trip into a schoolwide competition among the freshman students.
The rule was pretty simple.
For every monster killed, the student would receive a point. No matter the level, the monsters would get the student 1 point since all the monsters here were basically just Tier 0.
Students that managed to reach level 10 and transition into a class would receive 100 points as a bonus.
The students had their own ranking system, as well as the class that they belonged to.
There would be separate rewards for both categories, ranging from monetary rewards or items that usually help an Awakened Professional on their journey.
Aside from that, the teacher also emphasized that there were no rules about how the students would approach it.
They can also help each other kill a monster, but only one of them could gain a point per monster. It was up to them who would own the kill.
It was also possible to pile up everyone’s points to a single person, but it must be noted that the rewards could not be shared unless they were from the section rankings.
Students were not allowed to harm each other. Stealing other students’ points was also prohibited.
Their enemy was not their schoolmates but the monsters that remained loose in the wilderness.
Anyway, the rules were already established, and it was up to the students how they would go for it.
They would stay in the Veldora Woods for a maximum of two weeks. By that ti, the school expects all of them to reach level 10.
Given that monsters in the wilderness have more chances to give experience points compared to regulated dungeons, this ti fra was just right.
With that being said, the students dispersed as they began to prepare.
So gathered in groups and set up tents, while the others imdiately went to the wilderness to begin their hunt, eager to earn points.
Desther looked at the direction they were going before shifting his gaze to the person beside him.
"Why did you bring that many provisions? This is not a survival challenge..." he stated, looking at Noah, who was carrying an enormous bag full of all sorts of things.
"I-I got carried away. I thought the school would not provide us with any supplies, just like in the movies." Noah admitted that he had overly prepared.
Anyway, it was not too heavy, and it was his mother that prepared all of it.
The contents were mostly food and water, so change of clothes, a tent, and cooking wares that they could use in the wilderness.
Shaking his head, Desther did not pursue it any further.
"Anyway, did you bring the goods?"
Hearing that, Noah nodded his head.
"Yes, I got it!"
