Tristan’s Point Of View
"What determines a person’s worth? What could be wagered? What could be lost? Tristan, my sweet boy... Your path in life will not be easy, and for that I am truly sorry... But no matter what, you must never let it change who you are on the inside. Live for yourself, help those in need, and be brave– even if you are afraid. Live a life, bathed in the light."
I couldn’t focus on most of the conversations happening in the eting. My mind was digging up the past. The last few conversations that I had had with my mother, were rattling around in my skull unbidden.
I had thought that those mories and her gentle smiling face, had faded into the darkness of my mind years ago. Now here they were, threatening to shatter my skull completely.
"One day, you’ll find soone who will love you, and fight for you no matter the danger. You will have friends who value you for you. Just you wait..."
Mother’s soft chuckle rippled through my mind, and I imdiately wanted to cry. It was at tis like these, that I wanted my mother more than I wanted to take my next breath. I wanted to tell her about all the things that had happened to , how happy I am, and show her my ridiculously large family.
"From what my n have told , the unknown gangs have been acting more aggressive lately. In just this month alone, my Duhtchy has reported over 13 Oga abductions." Lyukhe said.
"My Duhtchy has also reported an increase of missing Ogas. Not just that, but there is an unsettling rumor going around." Sîvret said.
Their conversation pulled from my thoughts. The combined total of missing Ogas from all of their Duhtchies, was a staggering amount. I couldn’t help but stare at the screen in shock.
"From what I rember, there were similar docunts in the Delgaide and Lore’rahlye files that we stole... The docunts reported that all of the Governnt Controlled Facilities had been supplied with kidnapped Ogas for decades now." Bellamy said, thoughtfully.
"Yes. They began to require that all Oga births be registered in their national database, a few decades ago as well..." Ferdinand added.
"But by that logic, couldn’t they say that all Ogas are Governnt Registered Ogas?" Gaibe asked, confused.
"That certainly is concerning..." Zachariah grumbled.
"I must also inform all of you that they have definitely begun to start small fires. My brother and I, have already been contacted by Chazn..." Xander said, nervously.
"Yes... You all should absolutely be wary of the following people: Chazn, Shaihffer, Shannon, Rahzden, Casteille, and most importantly, Ohr’Aizen." I heard yhymn’s deep commanding voice from behind .
It had been so long since I had seen him and Ezekihel, I couldn’t help but smile.
He walked up to and Ferdinand, his eyes stern and serious. I was glad to have him back, but his face seed to say so much, without him actually saying anything at all.
The slow sardonic smile that was slowly rising on his face was eerily calming. I couldn’t explain why, but it was as if I subconsciously knew that yhymn would give his all in this fight.
"Glad to have you join us, yhymn. May I ask you a question?" Zachariah said, taking control of the eting once more.
"Sure. My information is yours." He replied.
"While I know the first 4 people that you nad, I am unsure about the last two..." Zachariah said.
"Well, from what I’ve gathered... Casteille is the new Director of the Oga Facility Division. He stands to lose quite a bit if Tristan is captured by the others, or if he manages to evade capture... And, Ohr’Aizen is... Well, he’s an unknown entity in general. He is currently the acting President and Chief of the Executives Branch... There are unsettling rumors going around..." yhymn trailed off.
The look in his eyes was not one of fear or worry, but one of pure anger and hatred. I swallowed dryly, as I felt a shiver crawl up my spine.
"What rumors?" Zachariah pushed.
It was clear that yhymn had grabbed everyone’s attention, they were practically hanging on to his every word and motion.
"Rumors that the previous Commander-in-Chief, has gone missing. So say he was killed. Others say he’s sick or terminally ill. If I had to wager a guess... The Legislator Branch tried to pass these new laws, but the presidential Executive Director would not approve them." yhymn said, his fists clenched.
"And the only way to get past his ruling would be to dispose of him, correct?" Bennhayzin asked.
"Correct. Though killing him would narrow down the potential suspects too much, so I don’t believe that he is dead. However..."
"With him out of the picture, the Legislator Branch could coerce the second-in-command– or threaten them even– with the knowledge that they were just as replaceable... Allowing the laws to be approved..." Sîvret said, picking up from where yhymn had stopped.
I couldn’t really process much of what they were talking about anymore. My mind was reeling over the amount of new information flooding in.
"It is entirely possible that all parties involved, have their own plans and motives as well. On the surface, they all have one common enemy, and they are trying to seize the opportunity that has presented itself to them... But underneath it all, they all stand to lose little but– individually, they also stand to gain imnsely– by capturing Tristan, and his siblings." yhymn said, resting a comforting hand atop my head.
"There are many things that need to be investigated thoroughly, but in doing so, we will cripple ourselves by trying, in the first place. The contract that I have with the governnt, was authorized by the Chief and High Council of the Executives Branch. It is not sothing that can be overturned by replacing the Director. My father was a very cautious, and punctilious man. I will personally visit this acting Director myself, and get down to the bottom of his blatant dereliction of duty." Zachariah said, his voice dripping with irritation.
"I do have a bit more information to share with you all... If you don’t mind..." yhymn said, cautiously.
"Please. Give us what you can. You have been extrely helpful, you have our gratitude. " Zachariah said, waving him on.
I could practically hear yhymn grinding his molars, his knuckles were white and bloodless, and his fierce eyes never wavered. It was clear that what he would say next, would shake us to our cores.
’I don’t think I can handle anymore heavy information...’
