Chapter 468: Tribulation (2)

The tallic spine speedster didn’t even realize when their leg was suddenly cuffed. It all happened so fast. They didn’t even think it was possible to open and close the cuffs in the first place. But…

Earlier, Theron had analyzed it and thrown one side into the ground. That seed random and without purpose, but when the speedster was suddenly caught by the other half, he found that it was already too late to stop.

The timing, the angle, the placent—it was all perfect.

He broke his own leg.

At the sa ti, Theron didn’t even spare the process a glance, as though he knew exactly what would happen before it did.

He simply pivoted to the side, dodging the knee of the woman as the lightning struck.

He changed the polarity of the water vapor in the air, causing the lightning to strike down faster than it would have otherwise. She didn’t even get a chance to land the kick before she was charred through, her armor shattering to pieces.

Theron caught her leg out of the air, gripping her ankle so tight he shattered it.

With a flick of his finger, his father’s sword rose out of the ground as he slamd her down.

PUCHI.

Her chest was skewered through, her mouth erupting a fountain of blood that bubbled over her jaw.

Theron’s hand twisted, and his father’s sword rotated, her body exploding into a mist of blood that left nothing at all behind.

Chi.

With a sound so slight it couldn’t be heard over the rumbling clouds, the sword turned to its place in the ground. Then, with another step, Theron appeared by the speedster’s side.

He was writhing in agony, his ligants, tendons, and bone all torn and broken under the power of his own stride.

The worst part was that he couldn’t even move, his body locked down by the heft of the cuffs and the other end of it latched into the ground.

Theron sensed spatial Mana forming around him, but he suddenly increased the density of Water Mana in the air, slowing its formation considerably.

He raised his leg and stomped down almost slowly. And yet, his heel carried the weight of a mountain.

The speedster could only watch as his head was crushed to minced at.

His body shivered once, then twice, before it stopped entirely, no longer moving.

Barely a few exchanges—and three deaths. Just like that.

It didn’t even look like Theron was trying very hard at all; he might as well have been stringing up chickens for death.

He was surrounded by armies, by the strongest powerhouses in the entire continent, and yet… as the rain pelted down from above and the lightning raged, unleashing its fury toward his body, he seed completely unaffected by it all.

He was the predator here. He was the apex alpha. He was the undisputed king.

Today, it wouldn’t be others deciding his life and death. At the very least… it wouldn’t be these people.

Theron’s eyes turned to the little girl. She still had her hands out, the end of her lollipop clenched in her teeth as she tried to accumulate more and more Space Mana.

Each and every one of these four had an interesting path, but Theron couldn’t help but notice sothing.

This little girl was the only Elental Mancer amongst them. Of the others, they had all been Flux Mancers.

These were all Garethon’s best creations. But why was it that there was such a better survival rate amongst Flux Mancers than the others?

Theron thought of the answer imdiately. All of the changes Garethon had for them were physical in nature—changes to the body. Flux Mancers were the best suited to dealing with such things. Elental Mancers… less so.

But this little girl was different. Obviously much older than she looked, she stood as the only non-Flux Mancer to make it so far. So why? What was the benefit of her youthful appearance?

As Theron felt her Mana moving, he understood.

Malleability. Flexibility. Plasticity.

They were all words that ant slightly different things, and yet had the very sa gist to them.

Controlling Space Mana was probably more complicated than any Mana in existence other than maybe Ti Mana, but Theron had never heard of a Ti Mancer before.

Yet, this girl wasn’t casting any spells—she was just wielding space as she would her limbs. She had even forcefully teleported his rivers of lightning despite his top-tier control.

Back then, Theron hadn’t even bothered to fight it because he felt it was impossible.

Of them all, she was most definitely the most powerful. However… his thoughts were more than just this alone. He needed to know how to benefit from this as well.

Theron lowered his hands, his eyes glowing.

Chi. Chi. Chi.

A spatial portal ford and was fused shut by an icy aura. It crumbled.

Another took shape, but it began to heat up, the Space Mana going out of control and tumbling.

The little girl took control of the fluctuating wildness, separating the one portal into dozens that turned into spinning disks, all rushing toward Theron at once.

Theron’s eyes flashed as he took a different approach. Disks of water tinged with violet ford around him, so hot that when the air dropped on them from above, they sizzled to vapor in an instant.

They vibrated at an unreadable frequency, rushing forward to et these disks.

A battle of Elental Mancers took place, roaring waves of water and blinking blades of space quickly shaping and then collapsing.

They stood dozens of ters from one another, and yet it was like they were face to face, their Mana embodying the emotions rooted into the depths of their soul.

But Theron seed to be getting better, his attacks sharper, more fluid. He took aspects of the little girl’s thods and incorporated them into himself—all while continuing to misdirect the lightning smashing down on him from above.

It didn’t look like he was training at all, but more like he was in the middle of a training session.

And then the situation suddenly changed.

The little girl slapped her small palms together, roaring out.

An enormous portal appeared high above Theron’s head, swallowing the bolt as thick as a mountain he had just been about to intercept.
