Chapter 467: Tribulation (1)

Theron stood calmly in the midst of the encirclent, lightning raging around him.

The skies opened up and unleashed their fury, but it only seed to enhance the snaking rivers of golden bolts around Theron. One after another, he trapped them, his breathing even.

This ti, he hadn’t even used the Vitality Bloomstone to heal himself; he didn’t need it. The mont he stopped holding back the armor, it was able to use it to enhance himself instead, increasing his absorption rate of Mana several tis over.

It felt like with just a handful of breaths, he was already back to full health.

The enemies that he wanted to kill seed to have scattered, all of them putting up defenses against the tribulation and forming an encirclent even wider than the one around him now.

They were risking their lives just to be here under this absolutely unprecedented Tribulation, and yet that didn’t an that they had completely lost their minds.

They knew that if they wanted a chance, they needed two things to happen.

First, Theron needed to pass this Tribulation.

Second, he needed to be weak enough for them to kill before he managed to ascend.

During this second phase… that was where they would be able to take his place. That was when they would be able to take his place. That was when the opportunity they had been dreaming of all their lives would open up.

However, standing there right this mont, watching Theron wield rivers of water and tides of lightning made them feel so very small…

Was this a monster they were supposed to be able to defeat? Why did it feel like it was they who had walked right into a trap?

Suddenly, the little girl put up her little hand. A spatial tide ford around her teeth as she bit down on her lollipop, crushing it into pieces of sugar and fruity burst.

All of a sudden, one portal after another appeared around Theron in disks of silver and black. His rivers of water were swallowed up.

BANG!

The prisoner among them, wearing cuffs as thick as six inches of steel, suddenly accelerated. Leaning forward in his run, his knuckles practically dragged across the ground as he closed the distance.

Chains rattled, and every one of his steps compressed the earth by over half a foot.

BANG!

He suddenly launched himself into the air, the thick cuffs around his ankles whizzing through the air and leading his ax kick as he spun through the air. He moved so fast it felt as though space was compressing around him.

In fact, Theron could feel that the little girl was helping him do exactly that.

Before the kick even landed, Theron could sense his rivers of lightning appear elsewhere, the bolts separated from the rivers of water and injecting themselves right into the back of a man with a tallic spine.

Theron didn’t get a chance to see how this would change the man before the ax kick was already there.

Taking a step forward, Theron didn’t retreat, but the step itself was hardly a step either. It almost felt like a fluid shuffle, as though Theron was just adjusting his weight on his feet.

He struck up with casually splayed fingers, the tips of his two fingers eting the sides of the oncoming heavy curves.

Water glided down his skin and body, following the length of his arm.

He didn’t even consciously call on this water. It followed him of its own volition, spreading through him by his actions alone.

As though he was water and water was him. Well and truly.

This wasn’t the first ti he had had such a thought, but it was the first ti he seed to really embody it.

He would never choke on water again.

The leg was parried to the side, accelerating down even faster than it ca as a dense loop of water pooled around it.

And then Theron struck out with a fist.

BANG!

Silence fell as the man shuddered.

He landed on the ground with a heavy BOOM! His weight—the very thing he was so proud of—ended up becoming part of his downfall as he looked down toward the bloodied fist skewering his gut through.

Theron didn’t pull his arm out before swinging it to the side.

A spatial gate that was forming to swallow up his weapons was intercepted by the body. But because of its small size, it only managed to take half of the man’s body, the other half falling to the ground in a grotesque heaping of spilling organs before sparks of lightning charred it to ash.

Theron raised a hand, twisting it up, and one of the thick cuffs on the man’s ankle was lifted up by his water.

He caught it out of the air, his body almost sinking down to the ground before he stabilized himself. After a look, he tossed it to the side.

BOOM!

The knee of a rainbow-veined small appeared before his face. She moved in a streak of colors, her breast no longer displayed for the world to see as colorful armor had covered her from head to toe.

Her face was no longer visible at all, nothing but her eyes filled with determination and not the slightest bit of repressed will. It felt like these four… they had been through too many life-and-death circumstances just like this.

As her knee approached Theron’s face, the tallic spine companion had circled around. He moved later and was sohow even faster, seemingly waiting until Theron was distracted before they took action.

It was the perfect choice to make…

If not for the fact Theron wasn’t distracted at all.

The rainbow-armored girl’s knee suddenly changed targets, aiming for Malaya’s head instead.

But it never reached as though it was never ant to.

BOOM!

A strike of lightning ca from above. At the sa ti, the other cuff left behind by the little girl’s portal twisted out, latching onto sothing.
