Chapter 469: Tribulation (3)

Theron’s gaze sharpened. The Water Mana he prepared to catch the bolts hit the other side of the portal, dispersing and becoming erratic. Rather than trying to take control of them, they popped and burst, so appearing in random locations in such unpredictable patterns that it was difficult even for Theron’s senses to keep up with it all.

It took only a mont for Theron to understand what was happening. His breath was combined with his Mana—it allowed him to control it with greater precision and perfection. However, if all of the senses he concentrated into his Mana were suddenly ripped apart and dispersed through so much space, it would feel as though his Third Eye was trying to look at the world through a kaleidoscope.

The world fragnted in his eyes, and he felt his mind and thoughts spinning. He knew what was coming, but he couldn’t pinpoint it exactly. It was as though he had been spun in place countless tis, and it was hard even to put a foot right in front of the other.

And then the bolts ca.

Theron’s eyes beca frighteningly cold, and he exhaled a frigid breath. The only thing he knew for certain was that Malaya was on his back.

In that case…

BOOM!

Theron felt a bolt as heavy as a stampeding tide slam against his chest. It ripped into his inner armor, short-circuiting its runes as though it was forcefully taking it all over and then writhing through his veins.

The pain woke his senses up, especially as he severed himself from the Water Mana he had just been controlling.

He coughed out a mouthful of blood, and it felt as though his entire body had been charred at once.

He almost crashed to the ground, barely catching himself on his feet in ti before he smashed Malaya into a at paste—but that didn’t stop him from coughing up another mouthful of blood.

PUCHI.

An arm in the shape of a blade tore into his gut, barely a shade higher than where his dantian was, and barely a shade lower than where his heart was.

It was most certainly done on purpose. It was too early to cripple him or kill him.

Sharp, decisive, perfectly tid, and with the “speed” of a Space Mancer. It was this sort of power that made them so fearso. She didn’t even have to contest with his inner armor.

The mont the Tribulation Lightning froze it for a mont, she saw her mont to cast a near-lethal strike and took it.

While Theron was trying to learn from her, she was trying to take him down. Both had their own reservations, and one very clearly won out in the end.

There was still too much Theron didn’t know about this wider world, and this was the first ti he had fought soone with both the experience and the strength necessary to stand toe to toe with him.

Her experience overshadowed his intelligence and quick reactions, while her raw strength closed in the rest of the gap.

In a battle like this one, it only took a single mistake for everything to be turned on its head and for one to be made to regret everything.

Theron coughed up another mouthful of blood, his jaw mimicking a familiar scene that the rainbow-armored woman had only just experienced.

But pain… that was sothing that he was all too used to.

The little girl vanished again before Theron could react, appearing dozens of ters away and huffing for breath.

Theron also realized that she had left Space Mana in his ridians, causing his own to fluctuate wildly and jump into sections of his body that it shouldn’t be in at all.

She alone seed to have completely reversed the situation, leaving Theron half-dead and unable to defend himself. Worst yet, the Heavens hadn’t finished their punishnt.

Like a beast opening its roaring maw, the skies split open and another bolt descended, followed by a third, and a fourth.

Relentless and completely lacking in any sort of grading system or decorum, it looked as though the Heavens simply wanted to dump all of its fury onto a little boy that shouldn’t exist at all.

Theron tried to circulate his Water Mana to heal himself, only for it to jump to random parts of his body. Earth moved and wind howled as though he was trying—and failing—to summon Earth and Wind Mana.

It was then he realized that the little girl hadn’t just poured Space Mana into his body—she had strategically aid it so that it concentrated onto the Water portions of his ridians as well as so distance outside of that range for an extra hint of caution.

To his dismay, she actually managed to cover the entire 5% of Water Mana ridians he had, despite most people only having 2–3%.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Theron’s knee fell to the ground, his body convulsing. He barely managed to use what Mana he could control in the atmosphere to protect Malaya, but the Heavens seed entirely uninterested in her to begin with.

Every ti Theron had interfered in another’s Tribulation, the Tribulation ended up targeting him far more than it did the one that had triggered it in the first place.

Now that he had triggered his own Tribulation, it was far more focused on him than the others he had roped in.

While they had to defend from ti to ti, the Heavens had opened up its heart and soul to eradicate him from existence.

Theron’s other knee fell to the ground, a grunt coming from him—the first sound he had made since the battle started in the first place.

Lightning had begun rampaging through his body, and to his horror, the little girl’s control was even better than he thought.

Not only did any Water Mana he tried to circulate move outside of the range, but any Lightning Mana that ca from the Heavens was teleported into his Water ridians as well.

In the distance, the little girl stood with her hands clasped and her attention completely focused. She might have been a long distance away, but they both knew that Theron was now her prisoner.
