Chapter 616: Chapter 126 Choosing to Inform Selectively is Not Lying

When Demigod Robert finally found the main force, he saw Sigrdrifa leading the Normans in retreat.

“Michael, Christon, you two are responsible for rear scouting; don’t force it if you encounter any detours or sneak attacks, just delay after sending a signal. I will co over with reinforcents in ti,” Sigrdrifa commanded.

The two Advanced Norman Knights agreed without hesitation and imdiately fell back with their weapons, intentionally keeping a certain distance from the rear of the troops.

“Carl, Xin, you two are responsible for advance scouting, ensuring there are no traps or ambushes ahead of the team, and retreat imdiately to warn us if anything is off,” Sigrdrifa issued another order.

The two Norman Knights quickly accelerated and dashed ahead of the team.

“Lieutenant Felix,” Sigrdrifa turned to the only Haska Guard in the team with intact combat capabilities, possessing the Frost Law, and said, “Please hold the center of the team. If there is any movent from the front or back, I will take people to support the battle, and the rest will be under your command.”

“Understood,” Felix nodded lightly.

Demigod Robert, observing all this from a distance, was puzzled.

He first stared in disbelief, then anger surged from his chest.

Since when did a traitor appear in my team? I’m not even dead yet! And you, Haska, are already taking over my military inheritance?

Robert’s face darkened as he landed in front of the team, startling the Norman Knights who then cried out in surprise.

“It’s the leader!”

“The leader is back!”

“The leader isn’t dead!”

Glaring fiercely at the barbarian who shouted “The Leader isn’t dead,” Robert then turned his fierce cold gaze toward the white-haired Haska who was giving orders just now.

You bastard, what are you… Eh?

He looked at the face that bore a resemblance to Sally and was also similar to his own, and he suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

Sigrdrifa stared back blankly at this “father” of hers.

Truthfully, even if what dea said was true, she felt no emotional attachnt to her biological father. Though they shared the sa Bloodline, what did it matter?

“Who are you?” Robert approached her, his face as cold as ice.

“Brunnhilde,” Sigrdrifa gave a false na.

“Brunnhilde… Did Sally give you that na?” Robert suddenly beca sowhat furious, his expression contorting terribly, “No! Your na is Sigrdrifa! I nad you!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Sigrdrifa felt a surge of anger for so reason, “My mother nad Brunnhilde.”

“From now on, you are Sigrdrifa,” Robert declared uncompromisingly, looking at the people around them, “Did everyone get that?”

“Yes, Miss Sigrdrifa,” the surrounding Normans said, solidifying her identity as the “leader’s daughter.”

Sigrdrifa remained silent. After all, it wouldn’t be appropriate to retort with “No, I’m not called Sigrdrifa;” that would be too awkward.

Seeing that she did not continue to argue, Robert’s expression eased slightly, and he said softly:

“I am your father.”

“Oh,” Sigrdrifa responded indifferently.

“And your mother?” Robert asked casually.

“Dead,” Sigrdrifa stated.

“Oh,” Robert nodded, not surprised. After all, Sally was a mortal with limited resistance to cold, famine, and accidental disasters. In fact, the fact that his daughter had beco a Transcendent and had reappeared before him was far beyond his expectations.

He did not continue the topic about Sally but reached out to stroke his daughter’s hair. Sigrdrifa quietly took a half-step back, avoiding his hand.

“Bloodline Completion?” Robert asked.

“Lv.10,” Sigrdrifa answered.

“The Law?” Robert asked again.

“It has nothing to do with you,” Sigrdrifa said.

“Very well,” Robert replied, showing a look of approval before turning and swinging his arm dramatically as he bellowed, “Let’s go!”

The Norman Knights imdiately responded, and Sigrdrifa’s command was thus completely stripped away.

“dea,” she silently said in her heart, “I do not like this man.”

“Who? Are you talking about your father?” asked dea with curiosity.

“He is not my father,” Sigrdrifa said.

“Do you want to call him ‘your mother’s lover’?” dea asked, surprised.

“He is not my mother’s husband either…never mind,” Sigrdrifa sighed, “As you see, this ‘father’ of mine does not like very much, just as I do not like him. Notice how he never cares about the condition of my mother, nor even inquires about the cause of her death.”

“Typical of a scoundrel,” dea comnted, “Anyway, just keep your distance from him. As long as we can infiltrate the Outville Family, we have our own arrangents for what follows.”

“Does Aske know about this?” Sigrdrifa suddenly asked.

“I’ve briefly explained your current situation to him,” dea responded.

“Oh, you lied to him,” Sigrdrifa stated.

“How is that lying? It’s rely selectively informing him of so truths,” dea cleverly said, “Anyway, keep in touch.”

After the communication ended, dea returned to Aske’s side, where he was frowning in thought while the other girls were engaged in a heated debate.

“This is too dangerous!” Nora vehently opposed the plan to keep Sigrdrifa “in the enemy camp,” “Listen, I don’t care what thods you used to prevent that demigod from uncovering Sigrdrifa’s identity disguise, but the Outville Family is our enemy after all!”

“If they decide to harm Sigrdrifa, we are utterly powerless to stop them!”

“For now, it appears unlikely that they will harm Sigrdrifa,” Miel said, determinedly.

“What exactly do you an by ‘unlikely’? What are the specific odds?” Thira asked.

Miel: ……

How am I supposed to answer that?

“Aske, what do you say?” Nora asked, worried.

“First, we need to clarify one thing,” Aske began, “If we are to retrieve Sigrdrifa from the Normans, barging in is impossible. We can only try to stealthily infiltrate and establish secret contact with Sigrdrifa, then act accordingly.”

The girls nodded in agreent. With a demigod present among the opposition, direct assault was obviously not an option.

“Secondly,” Aske continued, “dea and Miel suggested that we could have Sigrdrifa further infiltrate the Outville Family to gather intelligence about their next moves. Miel, what we need to verify is whether ‘the item required for Mia’s Ritual Task’ is indeed with the Outville Family.”

“Yes, it is specifically related to my Fate Law, so I can’t explain the principle in detail, but I can assure you that everything I have said is true,” Miel promptly asserted with seriousness.

In fact, Mia’s Ritual Task involved obtaining ‘the relic of the Earth-shaking Wolf,’ which ant that aside from the relic within the Outville Family, giving Mia the North Wind Axe (made from its rib bone) as a replacent would also suffice.

However, in that case, the team would have no reason to target the Outville Family. Originally, obtaining that relic would benefit Mia, Miel, and Sigrdrifa simultaneously, but now only Mia would benefit, which inherently did not satisfy the collective interest of the four of them.

Therefore, Miel could only “selectively” inform everyone of so truths as dea had suggested. Although dea argued that it was not lying or deceit, Miel still felt slightly guilty.

“Given this, infiltrating the Outville Family also serves as another high-risk, high-reward optional route,” Aske analyzed without doubting her claim, “If we choose this route, what should our first step be?”

“Do you an…” Eleanor quickly caught on to Aske’s implication, “If we really intend for Sigrdrifa to act as our inside agent, the next step would naturally be to establish secret contact with her as soon as possible to understand her situation within the Norman ranks and whether she requires corresponding assistance!”

“Exactly,” Aske concluded as the girls exhibited expressions of sudden realization, “So regardless of which route we choose, the first thing we need to do next is to establish hidden contact with her, isn’t it? Then what are you arguing about?”

“After establishing contact, depending on the situation Sigrdrifa reports back, we will then decide whether to take risks or prioritize her personal safety,” Thira added.

Nora hesitated for a mont but then also acknowledged this.

Thus, under Aske’s guidance, the team once again reached consensus amid their fierce differences. Throughout, dea remained silent, arms crossed and listening by the side, her eyes fixed on the side of Aske’s face with a charming and enchanting smile.
