Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first? Chapter 608: 118: The Illegitimate Daughter
Chapter 608: Chapter 118: The Illegitimate Daughter
“It really is an exact copy!”
The girls curiously looked at the corpse and then at Peggy after her transformation; aside from one being dead and the other alive, there was no discernible difference between the two.
“Okay! Stop staring at .” Peggy finally beca shy, especially when Sigrdrifa tried to peel off her clothes to check her now flattened chest.
She activated her Law Skills once again, and nurous tadpole-shaped manifestations of the Death Law erged from the air, soon fishing sothing out of the void.
The outlines of these things were very blurry; they could only vaguely make out what seed to be so kind of translucent human form. Peggy reached out with her palm and, with a gentle inhale, sucked the Spiritual Body into her mouth, and her mind imdiately filled with countless details—these were all the mories of the Norman Knight before his death.
“Ah! Peggy, you’re actually eating people!” Mia exclaid in disbelief.
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Peggy scolded again, “I’m just reading his mories!”
“Wow, you actually eat people’s brains!” Mia continued.
“How are you doing?” Aske interrupted Mia’s jest, and asked, “There’s no problem in playing this person, right?”
“Uh, no.” Standing before Aske with a man’s visage made Peggy quite uncomfortable; she could only turn her head and reply perfunctorily.
So, following the original plan, Peggy, transford into an Advanced Norman Knight, and Sigrdrifa returned from the Shadow Realm to reality once more, and continued walking into the outpost with the Norman Knight being controlled by dea.
“Oliver? Anton? What are you doing here?” They hadn’t walked far when two Advanced Norman Knights called out to them from the camp entrance.
“There is a Haska from outside.” The Norman Knight, dubbed “Oliver,” being remotely controlled by dea, pointed at Sigrdrifa, the unfamiliar visitor, and said, “She says she has news of the chief Robert.”
“Robert?” Both of the Advanced Norman Knights imdiately grew excited.
So the chief hadn’t t with disaster and had already co back?
“Where is he…” One of them was about to ask when suddenly, staring at Sigrdrifa’s face, he suspiciously said, “Wait, why have I never seen you at ‘Northern Horn,’ my lady Haska?”
There are no more than 30 Law-level powerhouses in the entire Northern Horn, and nearly all of them are male. If a female ever appeared, everyone would surely know imdiately—Normans don’t care about gender equality, a woman must be more capable, more famous than a man to achieve a status almost equal to that of n.
“This one claims to be the biological daughter of Lord Robert,” dea manipulated the Norman Knight to say sothing that astonished the two n in front of her.
Lord Robert’s… biological daughter?!
The two Advanced Norman Knights subconsciously wanted to call it nonsense. After all, Lord Robert, being a Demigod, had only married a few years ago—where would such an adult daughter co from… huh?
The two suddenly noticed two things:
First, this girl looked to be in her early twenties, and the brotherhood had followed Lord Robert for at most ten years; whether the leader had been married and sown his seeds twenty years ago was actually sothing they didn’t know much about.
Secondly, the facial features of this Norman girl, indeed, bore an exceptional resemblance to the leader! Not to ntion her white hair, the indifferent, almost transparent blue eyes, the finely chiseled nose, and those thin but slightly proud lips… On Lord Robert’s face, these features seed delicate and overly severe, but on the girl’s face, they were just right.
“Uh…” The two of them hemd and hawed for a while, unsure of what to do next. If this was really the leader’s daughter, she certainly wasn’t soone they wanted to offend, as they might face repercussions later on.
But what if she wasn’t? To believe soone on their word alone seed far too imprudent, didn’t it?
“You all should hurry back and inform the rest of the Haska Guard, and not keep Lady Brunnhilde waiting here,” said the knight impersonating a high-ranking Norman knight, speaking indifferently with arms crossed.
Brunnhilde was the alias Sigrdrifa had adopted for this venture. Seeing their colleague speak, the two advanced knights muttered to each other, and then one of them hurried off.
Inside the Norman outpost, which was a forr gas station’s retail store selling an assortnt of cigarettes, alcohol, snacks, and such (God knows why gas stations could sell cigarettes and alcohol). All the glass display cases had been smashed open by the Normans, who sat in a circle around an indoor campfire, carelessly smoking, drinking, and roasting opened packets of chicken legs over the fire.
The arriving advanced Norman knight didn’t hesitate to head straight for a Haska Guard sitting near the fire, bending down to whisper in his ear.
The white-haired Haska Guard’s eyes bulged at once. Lord Robert’s illegitimate daughter? That could an…
In fact, when it ca to personal affairs of their leader, the Haska Guard knew far more than the Norman knights. Lord Robert Guiscard had led his rcenaries down to Italy, dirt poor, he had to resort to robbing monasteries just to secure food.
It was later in the Divine Luo Empire’s Burgundy that he caught the eye of a lord’s daughter, who brought 200 knights to marry into his family, providing Robert with the military capital he needed to dominate the land—if not for her and her contingent, his rcenary group wasn’t even strong enough to besiege a small town, let alone conquer Calabria.
As for the lord’s daughter nad Geta, she certainly wasn’t a pushover either. After marrying into the Otwell Family, she practically controlled all the finances of Robert’s army and beca the true lady of the house.
If she were to find out that the leader had an illegitimate daughter that had been lost to the world and had now finally co seeking recognition… Based on the impression the Haska Guard had of her, this lady was certainly not a kind or soft-hearted person.
So the question arose, how could they properly handle this matter on behalf of the leader while avoiding the lady of the house’s knowledge and potential grudge?
“You lead the way,” the Haska Guard said after a mont’s thought, promptly standing up.
Following the Norman knight outside, the sight of Sigrdrifa made the Haska Guard pause again.
Such features, such an aura… If he originally had so doubts about this girl’s father-daughter relationship with the leader, he was now about eighty percent convinced.
Next, he suddenly lunged forward with a punch targeting Sigrdrifa!
The punch was so sudden that the surrounding Norman knights didn’t have ti to react. Sigrdrifa took just a half-step back and responded with an equally powerful punch.
Their fists collided, and a fierce white frost burst forth, instantly covering both of their arms in white frost. The Haska Guard grunted, shook his arm, and shattered the layer of frost, realizing a minor frostbite had affected the interior of his limb.
Sigrdrifa similarly shook her hand, flicking off the ice and snow from her sleeve, and then reached for the North Wind Axe at her waist.
The girl seed uninjured, likely possessing a “Tenacity” type of sequential ability, and her Physical Power was formidable… After confirming that her strength was considerable, the Haska Guard quickly placed a hand over his chest to show he ant no harm, and then said:
“Miss, I simply wanted to confirm that your white hair wasn’t dyed. It seems you truly are the leader’s daughter, the heiress of the Viking Bloodline.”
“Put away your weapon,” dea’s voice echoed in her mind.
Thus, Sigrdrifa huffed and re-hung the Battle Axe back at her waist.
