138: Chapter 42: Ambush and Counter-Ambush 138: Chapter 42: Ambush and Counter-Ambush dusa ran swiftly through the alleyways.

Through the power of “Mind I,” her “Mind Vision” could penetrate obstacles, allowing her to see the nearby “Mind Bodies” with blurred clarity.

Then she activated her “Fla Ability” and killed them in the instant she faced them.

Her flas, controlled with precision, would not extinguish until after the victims had taken their last breaths.

The imnse suffering they experienced before dying was like the rich fragrance emitted by flower petals, which sank continuously into the “Subconscious Ocean” and was eventually greedily absorbed by “Purgatory.”

“Purgatory” absorbed these painful emotions and provided its strength to dusa as a reward and feedback.

She had lost count of how many people she had killed, only feeling “Purgatory’s” power pushing her rapidly upwards, reaching a realm of strength she had never known before.

“Hey, look, dea!

Having a body is so wonderful!

You can hear the exquisite screams with your own ears, and enjoy their dance in the flas!”

“Pervert?

I’m not a pervert.

My aesthetic is simply unique.

I’m an elegant and uniquely tasteful art connoisseur.”

Suddenly, dusa felt a ripple in her heart, and from the recently acquired “Conspiracy I” Sequential Ability, she sensed a restrained killing intent nearby.

She flashed to the side, diving behind a wall, while her original spot was punctuated by the loud “pop” of a sniper bullet hitting where she stood.

“Sniper?” She flashed out again, throwing a huge blast of searing flas in the direction her “Killing Intent” and “Intuition” had locked onto.

A sniper on the sixth floor was reloading when he suddenly spotted the flas shooting at him through the scope, and he quickly rolled away, dodging with his weapon.

The flas pierced the window he had been leaning against, bursting into the sniper’s hiding place and causing a violent explosion.

Thick black smoke and glass shards, along with the shock wave, blew the Crusader sniper to pieces, filling his body with shards.

What was even more deadly were the burning toxic fus and the rapidly depleting oxygen inside the room.

He clutched his throat in agony, his body convulsing rapidly due to suffocation.

dusa looked towards the scene, feeling the power slowly increasing again, drawn from the painful emotions, and revealing a satisfied and malevolent smile.

“Ah, another new toy has arrived.” She suddenly turned her head, noticing more than a dozen “Mind Bodies” rapidly approaching.

Unlike the previous toys, these five “Mind Bodies” did not exude the pale green color of fear but radiated deep red denoting killing intent.

“Did they devise a thod specially against ?” dusa laughed coldly as she charged into a nearby building.

Five “Power Armor Knights” along with many more “Knight Followers” charged in from the alley entrance.

They were draped in grey coarse cotton fabric that wrapped their “Armor” tightly, only leaving their eyes visible.

“Is that asbestos cloth?” dusa hid in the shadows behind the door, eyeing these Crusader knights.

“It’s here.” A knight pointed at the bullet hole on the ground.

“Is she dead?” another knight asked.

“We didn’t see a body.

It must have been a miss,” the knight replied.

“The sniper is gone.

Her counterattack is far more fierce than we anticipated.”

“She can’t have gone far,” another knight said.

“Spread out the search line.

Find her.”

The team dispersed orderly, so guarding the nearby alleys, others leading the “Knight Followers” to search the neighboring buildings one by one.

One of the “Knight Followers” who entered the building approached the corner where dusa was hiding and suddenly noticed a pair of beautiful eyes erging from the shadows ahead.

And then he knew nothing.

His body turned around like a puppet on strings.

“Any findings?” Another Knight Follower ca down the stairs and greeted him, seemingly an acquaintance.

“No, no idea where he’s hidden.” The controlled Knight Follower smiled and reached behind to grasp the handle of his short knife.

As soon as his companion turned away, he drew the knife and stabbed it into the other’s back.

The short knife pierced through the lung, bringing out a large amount of blood and foam.

The victim tried to scream, but couldn’t make a sound—the air leaked out through the hole in his lung.

Taking advantage of his dying monts, the controller stabbed him a few more tis, then turned the blade around and cleanly cut across the throat.

dusa erged from her hiding place and reached out to feel the backpack on the Knight Follower’s corpse.

Sure enough, she found what she sought—the power source of the Power Armor, a Single-Phase Nuclear Fusion Battery.

As a Knight Follower, the primary duty was to carry ammunition, batteries, and equipnt for the Knight; assistance in combat was only a secondary role, so this was within dusa’s expectations.

She took the nuclear fusion batteries from both individuals, out of the shockproof and heat-insulated special boxes, and hid them underneath the corpses.

dusa lay next to the bodies, checked the angle, and realized that from this perspective, it was directly aligned with the window and the tall building across the street.

So, she summoned a Fireball and threw it into the neighboring room, then climbed over the windowsill and jumped out.

The room, ignited by the flas, quickly filled with thick black smoke, billowing out of the windows.

The Knights searching nearby quickly noticed the smoke rising from the building and hurriedly rushed over.

“Two n dead,” said the Knight who first rushed to the corridor outside the burning room, discovering the two bodies on the floor.

“No signs of being burned…

stab wounds?”

On the high-rise building across the street, dusa pulled a Fla Long Spear into her hands as she saw the last Knight approach, and threw it through the open window.

The Fla Long Spear flew through the window and struck the bodies on the ground from a distance, startling the Knight to quickly raise his shield and retreat.

The high-temperature flas burning on the bodies soon reached the miniature nuclear fusion batteries hidden below.

The next second, the entire roof of the building was blown away by a massive explosion.

On the road up Mount Olympia, Aske and the others saw a towering blaze rise from a small town below.

“Is that…

dea’s doing?” Thira said in disbelief.

Hmm, did I choose the wrong Sequence?

Is the Fla Ability really that much stronger than the Storm Ability?

“Yes,” Aske was very clear in his mind that it was indeed the power of the high-rank Sequence Fla V, which was comparable to a Law Rank in so respects.

However, the flaw was also obvious: it had to absorb a large amount of painful emotions to maintain its corresponding power.

Not to ntion, if the enemy implents a retreat-and-hold strategy, then after a while of not finding any targets and being unable to absorb painful emotions, the crazy lady’s fla power would undoubtedly rapidly diminish.

It was just a matter of ti before the enemy realized this.

At the mont, given her unbridled use of her Extraordinary Ability, it seed inevitable.

Then, with the crazy lady’s twisted personality, she might start doing things like self-harm.

“We need to get there fast.” Aske clapped his hands, “Mia, you go ahead, try to locate her position, and keep in touch with the team at all tis.”

“Okay.” Mia activated her Instant Step and zood ahead of the group.
