Edward Smith was not surprised when he heard the news, he simply said nonchalantly:

"Since my brother gave it to her, I won’t pursue it further, sorry to trouble you, officer."

After finishing the call, Edward’s lips curled up slowly, and he called over his assistant, saying:

"Check the bank and see how much money is left in Edward Smith’s account."

"Okay, sir."

After Thomas Smith bailed Olivia out, he took her directly back to the previous apartnt complex.

When they reached their floor, the bodyguards sent by Edward stationed at the door had already left.

Thomas finally breathed a sigh of relief and stepped forward to unlock the door, only to find that the original lock had been replaced.

Thomas’s heart sank abruptly, and his face changed along with it.

Olivia, who had been terrified when taken to the Police Station, looked even more distressed upon seeing the changed lock. Recalling the bodyguards sent by Edward earlier, she didn’t need to ask to know what happened. Both scared and angry, she grabbed Thomas’s arm and cried:

"What does big brother an by this? This house was bought by you for , what right does he have to change the lock? You should sue him, sue him for trespassing and invading soone else’s property, please, sue him."

Olivia’s voice grew intense with her agitated emotions.

She still didn’t grasp the situation at hand, but Thomas had figured it out.

His big brother never did anything uncertain; he dared to have the house he bought sealed because he had a plan ready.

The money to buy this house was also swiped from the secondary card given by his big brother.

He’d had that card with him since he was eighteen, using it as if it was his own for buying anything.

He never thought that one day his big brother would take back the card.

And now, the house bought with his brother’s money naturally belonged to his brother.

Thomas pursed his lips and remained silent for a long ti before explaining the situation to Olivia.

Olivia was stunned after hearing, knowing fully well that Thomas’s card belonged to Edward.

But he had used it for over ten years; how could it be taken back now?

If it was taken back, where would Thomas’s money co from?

Olivia’s thoughts stirred, pondering more about why Edward wanted to take back Thomas’s card and suddenly acted so heartless towards him.

As she thought, her eyes suddenly brightened, and she said:

"But, Thomas, didn’t you originally write the house under my na? So I’m the owner of this property, and the governnt has it on record."

Upon hearing this, Thomas’s eyebrows didn’t relax but said instead:

"Olivia, didn’t I just tell you? This house, I used big brother’s secondary card to purchase, if you go and claim it’s yours, he can turn around and accuse you of theft."

Seeing Olivia’s pale expression, Thomas couldn’t bear it and softened his tone, saying:

"Olivia, you’ve witnessed big brother’s thods since childhood. If he wants to pin a cri on you, you won’t be able to reason with him, besides, the house was purchased with his card, the bank has records."

He lowered his gaze and said, "Even the signature over at the property sales isn’t big brother’s na, even if we claim it’s a gift from him, it wouldn’t make sense."

Olivia’s heart, after hearing Thomas’s full explanation, sank completely.
