The human traffickers who kidnapped William Campbell quickly entered the criminal interrogation phase.

The case was being publicly tried, and many local residents organized themselves to attend the hearing.

Seeing the three traffickers in the defendant’s seat, if it weren’t for the strict courtroom rules, the attendees would have loved to pelt them with rotten eggs.

The woman with the last na Thompson sat on the defendant’s seat, her face as dead as a corpse, listening to the unbearable curses from the audience, her face growing paler.

"Don’t sentence them to death; let them be imprisoned for life, to taste the suffering worse than death in jail."

"Yes, and after death, let them descend into the eighteen levels of hell, never to be reborn."

"Animals!"

"Scum!"

"Bastards!"

"Go to hell!"

"I really wish they could be paraded through the streets, cut into a thousand pieces, and executed by lingchi!"

"..."

Listening to the endless stream of curses and calls for her death, the Thompson woman’s face was ghastly pale, muttering incessantly under her breath —

"I don’t want to die, I don’t want to die, I cannot die, why must I die when it’s clearly Adam Jones and his wife who wronged , I was just repaying tooth for tooth, why must I die."

"You people don’t understand anything at all, how can you bla , no, I cannot die, I absolutely must not die..."

"I don’t want to go to jail either, they can’t sentence to jail, Adam Jones and his wife committed so many heinous acts, their son died deservedly, deservedly..."

"It’s none of my business, none of my business..."

"..."

No one else heard her mumbling, but the bailiff standing next to her heard it clearly.

Originally, human traffickers were already scum and beasts condemned by everyone.

Hearing that this woman showed no remorse and said such destructive things was earth-shattering to the core.

The bailiff frowned nearby.

If it weren’t for his duty, he would’ve loved to give this old woman a beating.

"Behave yourself!"

He growled lowly, scaring the Thompson woman into glancing up at him, her body convulsing before she bowed her head and dared not speak again.

Soon, the Judge, Juror, and Prosecutor appeared in the courtroom as the trial was about to comnce.

At that mont, a slight commotion arose in the courtroom.

"Adam Jones and his wife have arrived."

Soone murmured softly.

Imdiately after, Elly Campbell and Adam Jones walked in from outside, unaccompanied by anyone else.

But being influential figures, their entrance naturally sparked discussions amongst the people.

"Both Adam Jones and his wife are here; seems they want to personally witness those traffickers’ fates."

"If the kid had really been sold, if I were them, I’d most likely mince those scumbags into at paste to feed the dogs."

"..."

The Thompson woman, who had been silent with her head down, suddenly raised her head when she heard that the Jones couple had arrived, looking toward the audience seats.

Her gaze landed on the couple, and her previously dead eyes instantly filled with malice.

"Order in the court!"

The Judge sternly called out, exchanging a distant glance with Adam Jones, nodding briefly as a greeting.

Imdiately afterward, the trial officially began.

The entire trial process was essentially a judicial procedure, and everyone could guess the outco of the trial.

Even though the defendants were obviously guilty criminals, the court still arranged legal aid for them in accordance with the law.

But it was clear that the lawyers from the Legal Aid Office were not enthusiastic about defending them, and even seed perfunctory by the end.
