Capítulo 1727: Chapter 1727: Have You Seen That Woman?
Elly Campbell and her husband sat in the gallery, not far from the defendant’s seat.
Elly’s gaze fell on the woman with the surna Thompson at the defendant’s seat. She just happened to et her gaze, which was filled with intense hatred masked by malice.
Elly frowned. Although she did not recognize this face, for so reason, she felt she had seen those eyes sowhere before.
Recalling what Leo Hall had said that day, it was apparent that this woman had so interaction with them.
But Elly was certain she had never seen this face before.
She lightly nudged Adam Jones’s arm with her elbow. Adam turned his head, leaning down to bring his ear to her mouth, “What’s the matter?”
“Have you ever seen that woman?”
Elly pointed to the woman with the surna Thompson in the defendant’s seat.
Adam followed the direction of her finger. It was a very unfamiliar face, but because of Leo’s warning that day, they had co especially today.
As for the woman’s identity, they hadn’t specifically investigated it beforehand, believing that after the trial, the woman would reveal whatever grievance she had with them that drove her to kidnap their son.
The woman noticed Adam looking her way and, for so reason, hurriedly withdrew her gaze, intentionally avoiding Adam’s eyes, and instinctively raised her hand to cover her face.
But then, as if suddenly realizing sothing, she put her face down again.
Adam noticed her previous behavior, his brow slightly furrowed, “I’ve never seen her, but… she seed afraid that I might recognize her just now.”
He had clearly observed her instinctive avoidance of his gaze earlier.
“I find her eyes sowhat familiar, but I can’t quite recall who they belong to,” Elly whispered from beside him.
At this mont, the trial was proceeding thodically. Given the solid evidence and the defense lawyer’s lack of aggressive defense for the traffickers, the judge soon began to pronounce the sentence.
The man leading them was nad Benjamin, known as “Brother Three” by those under him. He specialized in connecting buyers and traffickers.
Henry Morgan was his subordinate, following Benjamin for years in trafficking won and children, having committed countless cases that ruined countless families.
From their confessions, nurous past kidnapped children’s whereabouts and buyer information were uncovered.
They also revealed several of their hideouts and their upper and lower contacts involved.
The police, following their confession, arrested dozens of traffickers, destroying several trafficking hubs where these places profited by crippling children and sending them to streets to beg.
The news, once it broke out, outraged both heaven and humanity, truly appalling.
Because they confessed honestly, the death penalty was waived for them.
Though the death penalty was waived, their sentences were not light.
Benjamin was sentenced to life imprisonnt with asset forfeiture, without parole or appeal, aning he would spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Henry Morgan’s circumstances were sowhat less severe than Benjamin’s. He was ultimately sentenced to fifty years without parole.
Henry Morgan is currently in his twenties, and if he manages to survive in prison, he might have a chance to co out after fifty years.
However, in fifty years, the outside world will have changed dramatically. Even if he is released, he will find it impossible to adapt to society, and his final outco won’t be favorable.
