Chapter 957: Out Of System’s Rule
“Thank you for the complint.” Xu Feng was more than appreciative of receiving a complint of being devious.
So if even the demoness applauded him for being as such, then it ant he was successful.
“Are you seriously taking it as a complint?” Carn raised an eyebrow.
She was amazed by his ability, but she knew very well if this news were to spread. Then one could easily imagine how much criticism he would receive.
In fact, it would be hard for anyone to even like him as a person.
Not only was he shrewd, hypocritical, petty, but he was also shaless to a new degree. At this mont, there should be a new category of shaless specifically for Xu Feng to be placed in.
“Alright, let’s check the drop loot.” Xu Feng spread his hand and reminded her of the juicy reward. With the boss level monster retreating, what remained in the sand was Kelso’s drop loot. It was a battle royale, so the player killing another player wouldn’t warrant any loot drop.
After all, the System was only designed for the players to kill until the count reached 50. This was also to prevent anyone from trying to take advantage of other players’ equipnt.
However, the monsters native to this vast field were omitted from such rules from the System.
To summarize, monsters, when killed by players here would receive the monster’s drop loot. And vice versa, if a monster killed a player, then that particular player would also be penalized.
The rule originated from the monster, which effectively bypassed the System’s rule in the battle royale.
However, there ca a question.
“Guild Leader, if the player killing player wouldn’t result in any drop loot, then why does it drop for ?” Carn tilted her head slightly. “I encountered a few players already, and they all dropped goodies for .”
anwhile, Xu Feng facepald and questioned her, “What is your class?”
“Voidmancer?”
“The basic class that every player was granted an option to choose.”
“Oh, then it’s Summoner.”
“What do Summoners do in combat?”
After hearing that question, Carn beca enlightened. “Summoners fight with their summoned creatures.”
Nodding, Xu Feng continued, “And what are summoned creatures categorized as?”
“Monster.”
“And there you have it.” He pointed it out. This was one of the reasons why the Summoner Class was broken. Their summoned creatures usually don’t get restricted by the System’s rules.
After all, the summoned creatures weren’t present when the implentation was imposed upon them. But rather, they were summoned from another dinsion.
More importantly, even if they were present at the ti of the implentation of a System’s rule. The mont they were canceled or killed, that rule no longer applied to them.
Now, one could also say players could revive, then wouldn’t the rule wouldn’t apply to them anymore once they respawn from the dead?
By that theory, the answer was a hard no.
Why was that?
The explanation was even relatively simple.
Once a summoned creature died, it returned to its origin. And once they did, the System’s rule would also be nullified by then.
However, a player simply died on the spot, and even if revived, they were still in the sa spot.
“Okay, that’s the end of the lecture. Do you understand now?” Xu Feng suddenly clasped his hands and inquired.
“I’ve got the general gist now.” Carn nodded. There were still quite a few loopholes and doubts in her mind, but that would be a topic for another ti.
As of right now, the priority was to see what kind of drop loot Kelso lost.
“Hehe, I hope it’s sothing very rare and good. That way, Kelso would be spitting out blood and cursing at Reckonizer and Rozalina.” Carn grinned evilly.
“Don’t forget the Darkness Branch of the Cyclone Guild.” Xu Feng cleared his throat and reminded her.
“Right…”
Not only did they pretend to be people from the Malefic Order Guild, but they also claid to have been paid by the Darkness Branch to eliminate the other branches.
Unknowingly, Carn failed to realize that she was slowly starting to mirror Xu Feng’s personality and deeds.
A few seconds later, the two arrived at the corpse and spotted a sparkly shard and so pieces of equipnt.
“Holy crap! This Kelso must be on the verge of going insane.” Carn yelped. Her eyes widened in shock at the harvest this ti.
Next to her, Xu Feng was also astounded. He then glanced at Carn and wondered if he should touch her slightly to take so of her good fortune.
His luck was crap, this point was long established—he just refused to accept it.
But whenever he was with Carn, his luck would take a large turn. ‘Carn’s luck is really too strong.’
Alas, he managed to restrain his desire and kept his hands behind.
Instead, he patiently watched Carn take all the loot to her inventory. Since they couldn’t be certain when the round was over, it was better to hog everything first.
“Guild Leader, there are two Epic equipnt and one Rare equipnt. But the most valuable is the Resonance Shard. I can’t believe Kelso actually has two of them.” Carn exclaid in shock.
The rarity of the Resonance Shard was difficult to obtain after listening to Xu Feng. Hence, Carn couldn’t believe her eyes that Kelso would have that many.
“Could it be that Kelso might have more Resonance Shard in his inventory?”
“I doubt it.” Xu Feng chid in and shook his head.
“The Resonance Shard is a special item, and I reckon that if a player died, they would have their shards dropped. Of course, it’s under the basis that their death was out of the System’s rule.”
“I see…”
Carn was about to nod and thought that was the truth until Xu Feng continued his next statent.
“But then again, my deductions have been failing
recently. So maybe it is or maybe it isn’t. I don’t really know.” He chuckled and swiftly took a few steps back.
Sure enough, Carn tried to launch a sneak attack, but unfortunately for her, Xu Feng had learned his lesson and managed to dodge it cleanly.
