Shortly after leaving the hotel, Xu Feng made his way toward Yaren's office.
At the sa ti, he was surprised that Crimson Heart was so lucky to enter the Divine World so quickly.
He had to pay a gold coin to fast pass enter, but Crimson Heart was a through-and-through broke player. There was no way she would resort to buying her way in when she couldn't even afford to buy a beef skewer.
"I guessed her luck must have stemd from joining the Vanguard guild." Xu Feng mumbled, believing that was the only truth.

With his narcissistic thought process brewing in his brain, he soon arrived at Yaren's office.
The atmosphere and tension were more relaxed compared to the ti when Yaren seed to be in a rush to handle the city's invasion.
Nevertheless, Xu Feng wouldn't be fooled by such an atmosphere and kept his composure.
"Take a seat there," Yaren's gaze didn't even move as she commanded, clearly knowing who had just arrived.
Nodding, Xu Feng took a seat next to Crimson Heart, who looked sowhat nervous.
Following her eyesight, Xu Feng realized she was staring at a piece of equipnt that was on Yaren's table. At first, Xu Feng didn't pay much attention to it, but once he did, his eyes widened in shock.
"Aether Compass?" He mouthed it off unconsciously.
Suddenly, Yaren was surprised by his mouthing and finally lifted her chin up to glance at him.
"You know about this piece of equipnt?" She asked in disbelief.
Realizing he had made a blunder, Xu Feng didn't lose his composure as he swiftly ca up with a reasonable excuse on the spot. "Ah yes, I've read about it at a library once. It was said that the Aether Compass is capable of navigating complex or dangerous environnts, especially in areas with shifting terrains, hidden traps, or maze-like structures."
"Go on." Yaren mused, seemingly interested in learning how much more he knew about this Aether Compass.
Knowing there was no other choice, he continued, "It was also said that the design for such equipnt had been lost through the passage of ti. The materials required to craft one are even more scarce and rare."
Having said all that, even Crimson Heart could not help but gasp at his knowledge.
'How does he know so much?' She wondered silently. She was gazing at the compass because of the intricate design, but Xu Feng, on the other hand, not only recognized what it was but also its usage.
Amidst Crimson Heart's astonishnt, Yaren clapped her hands softly in response.
"No wonder you managed to beco the Earthrender's successor. You sure read a lot in the library." Yaren praised him.
"Educating oneself is in a sense of gaining more power." Xu Feng adjusted his glasses and smiled.
"Yes, that is the truth. One must always strive to gain more knowledge and educate themselves so as to not fall behind." She laughed and proceeded to hand the compass to him.
"This is the first revival of the compass and I hope that you can use it to investigate the Kobolds' invasion at Paradise Plains. Those higher-ups wanted
to investigate, but does it look like I have the ti and effort for that?"
Right as Yaren finished her words, Xu Feng received a system prompt.

Alard by the mission, Xu Feng was wondering whether to accept it or not.
Aside from the increased reputation and chance to obtain a Mana Resonance Talisman, the others were quite negligible.
anwhile, Yaren knitted her brows when she didn't hear a response from Xu Feng.
"What? Don't tell
you're afraid of the task?" Yaren raised an eyebrow and asked in a disappointed tone.
"The task isn't scary, but it's the ti." Xu Feng gazed at her and answered honestly. "I have so things to do, so I'm afraid of not being able to accomplish in a ti fra that would et your satisfaction."
To be fair, just the chance to obtain the Mana Resonance Talisman would help him greatly in the long run, but it wasn't guaranteed. Not to ntion, no matter how great and tempting the rewards were, one needed to be positive about accomplishing it.
The Divine World was not a simple world where a player could just accept the mission and then drop it midway. Worst of all, if they happened to fail it, then their reputation among the NPCs would worsen.
Cases where a player failed their missions too much would cause NPCs to refuse to hand them a mission or quest to do. After all, their credibility had practically hit rock bottom.
"Hmm, so it's the ti fra you're worried about," Yaren smirked and crossed her legs.
"I was given three weeks of ti to do it, so that will be your ti limit. Can you or can you not do it within that ti fra?" She asked once again, this ti with a set ti limit.
"Three weeks huh…" Muttering, Xu Feng suddenly reached his hand for the Aether Compass and smiled, "Does that an I can use this item for my other tasks even if it's not related to the investigation?"
"Guild Leader?" Shocked by his honesty, Crimson Heart's eyes widened from his question.
Who would ever tell them that directly when they could have just used it secretly?
