As the guard exited the hotel, Carn's face lit up. She gazed at Xu Feng fawningly.

Just as she was about to open her mouth, Xu Feng raised his hand up.

"We'll register in the hotel first before we explore the city." Xu Feng said solemnly.

"Eh, you already knew what I was going to ask?" Seemingly surprised, Carn didn't know he understood her so well.

However, Xu Feng rely held a deadpan expression.

Throughout their walking to the hotel, he would be a blind fool to not see her gaze wandering every little thing they passed by.

Not to ntion her fawning expression gave him ga goosebumps.

Ignoring her look, Xu Feng went to an open receptionist desk, spending a few minutes getting everything registered.

The process was rather swift and simple, considering that Xu Feng had been here more than once during his past tiline.

"Alright, which place interests you the most?" Returning to Carn's side, Xu Feng questioned softly.

Carn rubbed her chin softly. She then clasped her hands and exclaid, "The Arena. I've heard quite a few NPCs gossiping about it, so I want to see what it is about."

'More like you have been badly influenced by those bored players back at Star Falls City.' Xu Feng wanted to say this sentence aloud, but refrained himself.

After all, it wasn't bad to relax for a while and go to the arena.

An Arena could be said to be an official fight, with a referee and nurous spectators in the crowd.

It was a hub filled with violence, excitent, and thrill.

Of course, what made the Arena a special building was the fact that it had runes and formations inlaid to prevent any actual death from happening.

People could fight to their heart's content and not have to worry about being injured or dying when fighting. Thus, many tis, people would witness a spectacle brawl between fighters.

"Are you trying to participate in a battle or just watch?" Xu Feng curiously asked.

"Is it possible for

to fight?" Astonished, Carn didn't think she would qualify to compete there.

anwhile, Xu Feng smiled bitterly in response. As expected of the fa demoness.

"Yes, you can fight there but only after paying a fee to register." He calmly explained.

"Eh? Why must one pay to fight?" Frowning, Carn was disappointed to hear they must pay a fee.

"I'll pay on your behalf." Xu Feng shook his head, knowing her inco was quite pitiful.

"Heh, am I being spoiled?" Carn giggled cheekily, but inwardly, she was grateful to Xu Feng for indulging her impulses.

Shortly after, the duo arrived at a bustling Arena.

Upon gazing at the building, Xu Feng was more or less filled with bitterness.

After all, the structure of it looked no different than the arena he had to face at the Arcane Trial.

Just rembering that damnable mage that caused him to waste all his offensive scrolls pained him deeply.

'Hmph, I'm definitely going to make a killing today.' Xu Feng narrowed his eyes and sneered inwardly.

What Carn did not know was that he only agreed to her request because of another goal.

The betting system!

During a fight, spectators could bet who would win with the booth available.

To make things even greater, there was no betting limit on how much a spectator could place.

So long as the spectator could prove they had the resources they were betting, the Arena would accept them without hesitation.

And the winnings are guaranteed to be received because all bets are established through the System— for the NPCs, it would be their almighty god.

There was zero chance of foul play, especially when nurous eyes were locking on the fighters.

If so people dared to fake a fight and were caught, then the severity of it was no less than banishnt. In fact, even the organizers in charge would be penalized regardless if they were involved or not.

After entering the Arena, Carn's expression brightened in excitent.

"Look at those NPCs, Guild Leader. Their equipnt is so shiny and flashy." Carn pointed at a few NPCs in astonishnt. "Can I even defeat them?"

"If it's a fight with no limit, then of course not." Xu Feng chuckled. "What you'll be registering for is the balanced fight."

"Balanced fight?"

"Mhmm, it's a type of category available in the Arena to ensure everything is fair. They would all be restricted to a specific level, so their skills would be the sa. Additionally, the equipnt is provided by the Arena organizers."

Hearing the explanation, Carn nodded in understanding.

"Then what about those NPCs?" She then pointed at another group of individuals. They didn't exude any battle aura nor did they seem to be interested in fighting.

anwhile, Xu Feng followed her pointer to see who the people she was talking about were.

"Oh those NPCs," Xu Feng shook his head and said, "They're not fighters, but people who specialized in a particular Profession. They would offer anything that could boost a fighter's strength or repair their gears on the spot."

"So another form of hawkers?"

"..."

Although it was sowhat rude to address them as hawkers, given so of them were Adept and Expert level, Xu Feng also could not deny they were hawkers.

Professions at the level of Adept and Expert might be rare and highly valued in other cities. But in Paradise Plains, such levels were as common as the cabbages being sold in a vegetable market.

They weren't anything special and didn't receive much privilege. Only those at the Master and Pinnacle Levels would gain respect and privilege.

"Anyway, are you here to gossip about others or trying to get into a fight yourself?" Xu Feng questioned, seemingly unwilling to dabble further in this particular discussion.

"Of course, a balanced fight." Carn puffed her chest up and said solemnly, "I don't wish to be a burden and want to improve my strength. The Arena can be considered the ideal training ground for ."
