The guard reverently escorted Xu Feng and Carn to the platform, their actions shocking the other NPCs who were still waiting in line. Continue reading on empire

"Guards, how co they get to use first?" One of the NPCs shouted in the complaint.

"We've been waiting for more than two hours already! This is so nonsense!" Another chid in.

As the NPCs complained, so even went as far as unleashing their aura in an attempt to pressure Xu Feng and Carn.

However, what they got in response was the guard who had been escorting the duo respectfully to retaliate instantaneously.

"Hmph, how dare you all!" The guard scoffed coldly and locked onto the culprits. With a single wave of his hand, the NPCs who tried to put on a show of force were lifted mid-air, their legs dangling around.

After giving the NPCs a few glances, the guard harrumphed and sent them straight to the end of the line.

Once that was done, the guard continued to unleash his terrifying pressure, putting the complainers to their knees. Only a few who had kept silent were free from the pressure.

"Baron Lin Feng here is not soone the likes of you can complain to. If you want this kind of privilege, then bring your contribution to Star Falls City." The guard coldly exclaid.

As he turned around and faced Xu Feng, his domineering expression changed to a friendly one.

"Did these people alarm you, Baron Lin Feng?" He asked softly, clearly concerned and worried about his well-being.

Nearly all the guards had been inford and warned sternly by Jessica who relayed a ssage from the City Mayor and Manager Howard that stated Xu Feng was an important individual. Thus, they aren't allowed to disappoint or be rude to him in any way, otherwise, their heads might be detached from their neck.

"No, it's all thanks to your swift reaction." Xu Feng lightly said, not a bit bothered by the NPCs' reaction.

He already knew most of them would be dissatisfied, but so were truly retarded to actually make a move. At the very least, they should have waited till they arrived at Paradise Plains.

Soti later, the guard activated the teleportation. Xu Feng and Carn swiftly turned into tiny particles as they vanished from the platform.

Paradise Plains

A streak of lights shone upon a platform, and erged was Xu Feng and Carn.

"Holy!" Carn was srized by the sight, but what amazed her the most was the clarity in her mind.

"Why do I feel so refreshed?" She turned to Xu Feng and asked. It beca almost natural for her to always ask him whenever she had any doubts or new stuff.

Her eyes were glittering, prompting Xu Feng to feel uncomfortable.

"The mana concentration in Paradise Plains is nurous tis superior to Star Falls City. Hence, you feel refreshed." He explained.

Realization dawned upon Carn as she recalled the great environnt in the Arcane Vein.

"Mana concentration actually has such a huge effect on players?" She exclaid in an astonished tone.

Previously, she rely thought it was just a special circumstance, but that didn't seem to be the case.

While she beca dazed, the nearby guards around Paradise Plains started approaching them.

"Hello, may I see your participation slot?" One of the guards asked.

Xu Feng nodded and revealed his participation slot. After a few seconds, the guard confird it and turned to Carn, seemingly waiting for hers.

"Ah, she's with

and here to cheer

on." Xu Feng explained.

The guard simply nodded their head in response. The slot that Xu Feng had indeed allowed him to bring in another person, but he still decided to be careful in confirming if it was true.

"Understood, please follow

to register yourself. A room has been prepared for you at a hotel, and during this ti, you are free to explore the city aside from the restricted zone. The competition will begin the next day once all contestants have arrived." The guard turned around and began explaining the procedure.

As the duo followed the guard, Carn's gaze was wandering around.

Paradise Plains was a bustling city, packed with activity and energy.

Its streets were filled with people moving about, with the constant noise of chatter and footsteps echoing off the tall buildings. Neon signs and bright banners advertised various shops and guilds, adding to the city's lively atmosphere.

The architecture was impressive, with sleek modern buildings alongside older, intricately designed buildings. The air was filled with the scents of street food and the occasional whiff of incense from nearby stalls.

As Xu Feng and Carn walked through the city, Carn noticed the variety of shops and stalls lining the streets. So sold rare items and magical artifacts, while others were focused on everyday goods.

The city's grand marketplace was busy with traders and adventurers, creating a constant buzz of activity.

"Feng, this is totally different from Star Falls City," Carn whispered to him, clearly astonished by the scenery.

"Of course, it's different. The prosperity of Paradise Plains is at its peak." Xu Feng chuckled softly.

anwhile, the guard who was guiding them felt a sense of pride. With its strength, hearing their whispering was extrely easy.

"Our Paradise Plains is considered the heart of every known Profession. Many sought to purchase land here, but very few are successful." The guard exclaid and led them through the main areas. He was pointing out important landmarks and giving brief directions.

As the guard explained in pride, Carn's gaze was drawn to the bright lights and the diverse crowd, taking in the contrast between the shiny, high-end districts and the more modest areas with local crafts and food vendors.

'I'll definitely get the Guild Leader to explore here later on.' She made a ntal note.

Soti later, they arrived at a modern hotel with a glass front, standing out from the older buildings around it.

"Here's the hotel and please take your ti to read through this law book. Paradise Plains might not be strict, but the laws are absolute. If it's a severe offense, then they might be banished from the city altogether." The guard warned sternly and gave a law book to Xu Feng.

Afterward, the guard left swiftly, clearly very busy. If it weren't for the specialty of Xu Feng's participation slot, then the guard wouldn't have even bothered guiding them to the hotel.
