When Carn declared her intention to improve herself, an aura of unwavering determination surrounded her.
It was so strong that Xu Feng could feel its impact, a subtle shift in his own resolve. This presence was like a passive force that could unsettle opponents, sending chills and shivers down their spines.
He was taken by surprise and only managed to compose himself after a few seconds.
anwhile, Carn remained unaware of the effect she had just caused.
"Where do we register for a balanced fight, Guild Leader?" She questioned.
Having glanced at their surroundings, she didn't find any receptionist desk or employees of the Arena.
"To register, you must head to the upper floor." Xu Feng calmly pointed at a room on the higher floors. "The lobby is mostly occupied by fighters and Professionists."
"Are there no guards in the lobby then?" Carn was dumbfounded. It was the first she ever witnessed a building that had no guards. Even the casual tavern had a few guards on standby for any possible conflicts.
"Why would there be guards when these fighters and Professionists are the best guards one could ask for?" Xu Feng mused.
The rules of the Arena might be rather lax, but that didn't an one could be unruly.
After all, if there happens to be a troublemaker, anyone is allowed to bash the hell out of that person without any repercussions. Additionally, those who successfully resolved the conflict would be granted a free round to fight or a chance to enter the library.
Normally, libraries are free public access to all, but within the Paradise Plains, the library was considered a sacred ground. Without sufficient contributions or influence, one could only dream about entering one.
The library in Paradise Plains contained all the valuable knowledge in every Profession.
Just one chance to enter and one might receive leaps of reward in knowing how to enhance their level and proficiency in their respective professions.
Thus, everyone in the Arena gladly welcod any troublemakers to cause a ss for them to take advantage of.
A few minutes later, Xu Feng finished registering Carn and she had to wait for another three fights before it was her turn.
"We got lucky," Xu Feng mumbled.
"Lucky?" Confused, Carn didn't quite get his aning.
"Since we're kind of the earliest batch to arrive, the balanced fight and no-limit fight aren't that crowded yet." Xu Feng turned to the fighting stages and explained, "Usually, one would be lucky to get into a fight within the day. Oftentis, so have to wait over 2 days before they can fight."
"T-T-That long?"
"Of course, and it would be longer if there were so special events happening."
"More special events?" While Carn was stunned to hear there were more special events, she began to notice Xu Feng's eyes were wandering at multiple fighting stages.
"Are there so fighters you are interested in, Guild Leader?" She inquired, glancing at the stages, seemingly copying his actions.
anwhile, Xu Feng was deeply thinking. 'Hmm, the fighter Feras should be here.'
Another goal for coming to the Arena was in search of so competent fighters. Based on his recollection, there was a player who had a competent Swordsman NPC personal guard nad Feras. Its fighting prowess was capable of holding back hundreds of similar Tiers, bolstering that player's overall strength.
During an interview one ti, the player bragged about how he managed to recruit such a competent fighter.
Their words were: Heh, Feras was found by
in the Paradise Plains Arena. At that ti, he was just one of the many fighters, but I was down on luck and decided to recruit him. Who would have known a mission would be triggered? Once completed, its growth increased trendously.
Back then, Xu Feng had finally climbed up in the rankings of the Reaver Guild and was tasked with recruiting talented individuals.
Stay connected through empire
Hence, he naturally paid attention to this particular player nad Loosely Cloud and attempted to recruit them, only to be rejected.
Of course, Xu Feng didn't hold a grudge over the matter, considering Loosely Cloud was making banks with the personal guard. There was just no need for the latter to join the Reaver Guild.
'I hold no grudges regarding that, but that doesn't an I can't yoink the personal guard from him.' Xu Feng inwardly thought, not feeling bad for getting the dibs this ti.
So might begin to wonder if he actually had anything worthy of accomplishnt for himself instead of stealing other's achievents.
And they would be right to question such. The answer to that was obviously yes, he does, but all of those things were currently out of reach, or not quite updated into the Divine World system yet.
Most of the accomplishnts he made were near the mid-final stages, capable of destroying the balance of the Divine World.
His distraction was quickly cut off upon hearing Carn's words.
"Guild Leader, I'm up."
"That fast?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow, seemingly recalling there were three fights ahead of her.
Carn nodded. "The stage referee called for my na and I received a system notification to head to Stage 4 simultaneously."
Looking up at the screen, Xu Feng indeed saw the na "Lunar Wraith" being highlighted, alongside her opponent who was called "Death Bringer." An alias of so sort and wasn't actually the fighter's na.
"I see… then good luck," Xu Feng flashed his fist and gave her so encouragent.
"Are you going to bet on
winning?" With an anticipated smile on her face, she asked curiously.
"..."
Seeing her anticipated expression, Xu Feng sighed and relented. "10 silver coins?"
Carn shook her head.
"50 silver coins?"
She shook her head again.
"... 1 gold coin?"
Carn held a bitter expression upon hearing that.
"At least 10 gold coins, Guild Leader. Or do you not trust my fighting capability?" She placed her hands around her hips, clearly dissatisfied with his confidence in her.
"Fine." Xu Feng raised his hands in surrender and quickly went to place a bet on her winning with 10 gold coins.
anwhile, Carn went to the stage, in which the opponent held a surprised look to see a fragile woman.
