Chapter 1140: Waiting In Ambush
What Xu Feng offered was the players’ list of Miracle Pavilion, as well as the actual suspects.
As for how he figured them out.
The answer was actually quite simple!
His cheat... as in knowing lots of future information. These suspects were people he knew in advance. So by theory, he wasn’t deceiving Yaren at all.
"I’ll have people look into it," Yaren calmly said and gazed at him with a profound look. "So, what type of rewards do you want?"
"I wish to improve my proficiency." Xu Feng replied. Ever since he got his hands on so precious blueprint, he was incapable of building them due to a lack of proficiency.
He realized he needed to start improving them.
He wasn’t worried about Crimson Heart, given that the latter could be said to have been Yaren’s disciple. She could easily improve them herself, especially when she spent the majority of her ti crafting new or popular items.
Nodding, Yaren didn’t find the request overboard.
"Here’s my token. You are free to access any of them to improve your proficiency level. But keep in mind to not stain my reputation." She threw out a token toward him and warned.
"Yes, Elder Yaren." Xu Feng accepted the token and gave his sincere gratitude. With the token, he was now exempt from having to pay for any establishnt.
How could he not be excited about such a vip access token?
"Alright, get out of my sight if you have nothing else." Yaren yawned and said in an annoyed tone. Needless to say, she was planning on taking a nap, but couldn’t do so if there were other people nearby.
Naturally, he wouldn’t dare to expose her on the spot.
Only a foolish person would call out their superior for trying to slack off!
He rely cupped his fist and hurriedly retreated from the office.
Shortly after leaving the office, Xu Feng made sure to place the token in a locked and secured inventory space.
Although it was expensive to have one of them, which cost 10 gold coins per month, it was necessary to prevent it from dropping.
Of course, not all items were allowed to be put in the locked and secured inventory space. So of them have high restrictions.
With the token secured, Xu Feng didn’t rush to leave the city. Instead, he began to wander around, searching and trying to see if there were so decent items that he could buy.
He was about to return to the Phantasm Sea now that its changes should be completed.
Having seen Carn reach Tier 2 and the excitent that had caused the others, he knew the second major update was right around the corner. Once a player reached Tier 2, they were soon qualified to join the fight to retake the conquered lands.
So might start questioning why he was always being rushed, but that was just the joy of an mmorpg.
Those who have played such gas before know that if you want to remain consistently at the top, you need to spend hours upon hours, plus money.
Although the Divine World wasn’t extre in the pay-to-win aspect, it certainly enabled those who were wealthier to blatantly convert their real-world money into Divine World coins.
Ti quickly went by, and Xu Feng beca broke again.
"It sure is easier to spend money in a heartbeat than earn." He smiled bitterly. The money he brought out was nearly expended.
However, it was still money well spent in his mind.
If he didn’t spend this money to make his life smoother and easier, then what was the point of earning so much?
Shortly after the purchase was done, Xu Feng used the city teleport platform to head over to Evernight City.
He began to walk toward Handso Chao’s shipyard when his footsteps suddenly paused.
His eyes narrowed as he could sense that faint presence of killing intent directed at him.
"You sure have a lot of courage in trying to make a move within the city." Xu Feng coolly said.
Unfortunately, he was t with a silent response.
He snickered coldly and was unfazed by the silence. Just because the enemy refused to speak didn’t an they weren’t there.
"Didn’t expect a cowardly assassin. Might as well change occupation."
Despite the sneering remarks, there was still no sound.
If it were any other person, then they might have thought they were mistaken.
However, Xu Feng wasn’t the type to believe his perception and senses to be incorrect. ’If the enemy is waiting ahead to ambush , then they need to know about my whereabouts.’
He began to ponder when and where he could be tracked.
Such tracking had to be very recent, and he rarely exposed himself to the public much, except for one occasion.
The siege!
During the siege, he had exposed himself to raise morale.
"Our guild made sure to thoroughly check people before allowing them to join the elites. But I didn’t escape there to see soone slipping through the cracks." He chuckled and activated his Guild’s Token.
Almost imdiately, at the top of a rooftop, there was sothing shiny being exposed.
"So there you are, hiding, little rat." Xu Feng laughed coldly.
"Damn, I didn’t expect this." Having been exposed, the player undoed their stealth, which was no longer effective. Their hands were holding onto the guild emblem that was previously placed in their inventory to conceal their identity.
The Guild’s Token that Xu Feng activated was only for the Guild Leader and the Vice Guild Leader.
It could be used to locate their fellow guild mbers regardless of their stealth or enemies’ concealnt barrier. The only exceptions were if they were placed in a special environnt restricted by the System.
"I didn’t think I’d be exposed because of the very disguise I used to infiltrate." The person said in a bittersweet tone. "The Guild does offer a lot of benefits, so I plan on remaining after completing the assignnt. But it seems like that’s no longer a viable option."
"Well, you can still remain if you just forgo the assassination request, Z3roTrace." Xu Feng smirked, having identified the ambusher.
What made him quite astonished was that Z3roTrace actually managed to obtain an item that could disguise him as another player without getting exposed. It was nearly identical to his Mirage Pendant, albeit inferior by a large margin.
