Chapter 1139: Yaren’s Astonishnt
Shortly after the conversation with Evelyn had ended, Xu Feng promptly finished drafting the upcoming plans for Veronica to comnce.
Within the plans, it detailed how they would change their defensive strategy around the Haven Wind Town.
It also included the thods for dealing with those Bounty Players.
He had not once forgotten their blatant disregard and disrespect for their town by constantly targeting the players who patronized their town.
Thanks to their repeated actions, the town’s revenue actually tanked quite a margin. His desire to rapidly gain influence in the Adventure Association and rcenary Association got delayed because of them.
A town’s security must be kept at a standard in order for its influence to rise.
’The Miracle Pavilion sure knows how to tick
off.’ Xu Feng’s expression darkened whenever he recalled their despicable actions. Although he never openly expressed his anger, he was indeed infuriated by their actions.
They weren’t the only guild that opened a chamber of comrce. Yet the Miracle Pavilion acted like they were being offensive for opening one as well.
Wasn’t that all because the other guilds were too strong, whereas they weren’t?
Since they kept believing his guild was the weaker one, he might as well let them realize how severely mistaken they were.
And this ti, he wasn’t going to end them after one bout. But one that would make them regret life.
"I should probably get ready to complete Elder Yaren’s mission." Xu Feng opened his multiple lists of missions and smiled awkwardly. There were so many ongoing ones, with many being long overdue.
After browsing through them for a while, he promptly closed the screen.
What the eye doesn’t see, the mind wouldn’t think about it!
Soti later, he received a video call from Carn.
Picking it up almost in less than a second, he asked, "What’s the matter?"
"Guild Leader, I got many DMs from random people," Carn exclaid.
Well, with your current popularity, it would be a miracle if you didn’t have people pestering you.
Xu Feng nearly wanted to say those words aloud, but refrained from doing so.
Instead, he coughed a few tis and explained, "You can change the direct ssage filter to friends only."
Unamused by his words, Carn rolled her eyes from the other screen.
"Did you think I’d called you just for that?" She asked annoyingly. She was positive that he was teasing her. With the recent movent of people wanting to beco a Demoness Captive, she nearly had to stay hidden like so wanted criminal.
Nearly every player she stumbled across begged and wanted to pay her just so she would kill them.
Just how crazy were these players?
She would prefer them to be hostile than be so fanatics seeking death.
"Alright, what is the problem here?" Xu Feng chuckled softly. "I thought you would be busy upgrading your voidlings."
"Yeah, I was until I wasn’t anymore." Carn frowned and ultimately forwarded a few ssages to him.
"I have too many of these fanatics spilling so secrets, but I don’t have the ti or energy to verify whether their words are true."
"I’ll take a look."
A few minutes later, Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly as he read the ssages she forwarded to him.
"This is..." A bewildered look appeared on his face. The ssages were actually information about the Miracle Pavilion’s secret leveling grounds.
It was hard to say the ssages were troll, either when there was even a detailed layout of how to arrive at those secret areas.
"So what do you think, Guild Leader? Is the information reliable or a trap set up by the Miracle Pavilion?" Carn inquired softly.
She refused to jump straight into the situation without proper thinking. Having interacted with Xu Feng for so long, she had picked up a lot of his strategy and shrewdness.
Not once had he ever dived straight into a situation without any verified information or a certain percentage of success.
"I’ll have OneMandia’s team investigate them. If confird to be true, then you can keep a note of the person who sent you the DM. They could be a useful asset."
"Okay, then I’ll send the rest of the similar ssages to you."
Shortly after saying that, Carn ended the video call without any warning.
Seeing the black screen, he was rendered speechless. It was usually him cutting people short, but it appeared that Carn knew in advance and chose to act first.
"Seems like I’ll need to up my ga." He muttered and shook his head. He spent the next few minutes finishing drafting the plans for Veronica to act while sending the relevant information to OneMandia.
It was called a few minutes, but in reality, it took him a little bit over half an hour.
Damn, I feel like a white collar worker with all this work!
Xu Feng had already made it big, yet he still felt no different than the average 9-5 slave worker.
"Phew, finally done with all this paperwork." He stretched his delicate fingers and realized he needed to increase Veronica’s salary, alongside many benefits.
If she were to suddenly quit, then he would be in deep trouble.
Once everything was done and dusted, Xu Feng exited his office and went to the Teleport Platform.
The location he chose was Paradise Plains.
...
Paradise Plains, Yaren’s Office
"My goodness. I thought it was taking a while, but I didn’t expect your report to uncover this much vital information." Yaren’s eyes widened in surprise.
She was astounded by the extensive information, which listed the traitors and the multiple base layouts of the Colossus.
"But whoever this Miracle Pavilion is. They sure have a lot of guts to collude with the Colossus in such an open manner. If I recall correctly, there happened to be so players affiliated with this guild trying to study under our city." Her eyes glinted in a cold light.
’Heh, I wonder how you would feel to lose all your Profession Players, Miracle Pavilion.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly.
