"You will have to pick her up," Fabian said, looking at their princess who was now almost flat on the entire backseat, sleeping with her legs sprawled on the front seat without a care in the world.

His ears turned red at her unladylike position, and Cyrus massaged his forehead.

Even if it was an act, the least she could do was pretend to be scared.

He sighed and pulled her legs down before holding her hands, and was about to pull to place her on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes when she murmured sothing.

He frowned.

Cyrus leaned forward to hear what she was saying.

"I will choose you in every lifeti, Cyrus. Can’t you love back? Just a couple more days," Alia whispered.

She was clearly dreaming about sothing.

But what did she an by a couple more days? Where the hell was she thinking of going after that?

Wasn’t his King trial after so days too? He clenched his fists.

Was she thinking of running away with that rogue head?

Right after his King trials? Even after she placed this mark on his neck. How daring?!

Cyrus glared at the woman before ordering Fabian and Trevor to leave them alone.

The subordinates were confused but didn’t say anything and went inside the palace to convey the news that their princess was here and they didn’t need to worry anymore.

Cyrus grabbed her hair in a fist and pulled her face forward, kissing her passionately, taking out his anger, pouring all his emotions into that kiss.

His frustration that he felt when he couldn’t find her, or how scared he felt after knowing she was kidnapped and not in the city. He took out his anger on her, making her groan in displeasure.

Cyrus didn’t stop. He didn’t care if his roughness would wake her up. At that mont, punishing her was more important to him.

"You moron," he seethed through his teeth before sucking her bottom lip, making her bleed when he grazed his canines on soft skin.

If it had been his previous self, he would’ve never kissed soone covered in dirt, but when it ca to her, it didn’t matter.

Alia blinked her eyes open softly, feeling discomfort, her pupils dilating when she saw Cyrus so close to her.

"King Cyrus —" She started to speak, but her words were cut short when he kissed her again.

This ti, she opened her mouth for him, allowing him to enter freely.

Her eyes closed, heart beating erratically at the emotions that coursed into her body, but what Cyrus was feeling was truly ecstatic because of the mark on his neck.

"It’s really unfair that I bear the mark of your cunningness, but you don’t share it," Cyrus said before he stepped out of the car and pulled her out with a jerk.

Alia felt a tug on her arm, making her shoulder ache, but she knew Cyrus was angry and displeased about sothing, and thus, didn’t make a sound.

Cyrus picked Alia in bridal style before entering the Grand Palace.

As soon as they entered the palace, Miss Quinn rushed to check on the princess.

Cyrus had expected that, but what he hadn’t expected was the presence of more than half of his family in the hall.

His gaze t Elysia’s first, who had a neutral expression, before his grandmother, who looked worried.

"Who spread the news?" He asked, his gaze landing on Patrick.

Even though he asked the question, his gaze settling on that man was a clear indication that he suspected him.

Patrick averted his gaze, strengthening Cyrus’s doubt.

The man, however, didn’t say anything.

"She is fine but needs rest. You guys have seen her. You can see yourself out," Cyrus said and started walking towards the stairs.

"Princess Alia..." Elysia stepped forward, making Cyrus stop.

Elysia walked to the couple and held Alia’s hand, making her open her eyes that she had closed, not wanting to face anyone like this.

"Thank you for saving my daughter. I know you risked your life for her. Without caring for your life, you took her place. And even though it’s selfish of to say, I’ll be forever grateful for that," Elysia said.

Alia patted Cyrus’s chest, an indication that she wanted him to put her down.

The man obliged.

Alia looked around and saw Lilithia looking at her with a concerned expression.

The girl ran to her and hugged her.

"Thank you, sister-in-law. I owe my life to you," Lilithia’s hug nearly crushed Alia’s bones, and Cyrus scowled.

The displeasure on his face made Elysia pull Lilithia back a little awkwardly.

Alia looked at the ladies before smiling.

"I didn’t know Miss Lilithia was your daughter and my husband’s cousin. I would’ve done the sa for any girl in trouble. And I didn’t do it because I didn’t care about my life. I did it because I had faith in my husband’s skills," Alia said.

Elysia’s gaze darkened at her words.

Alia didn’t flinch, but instead smiled at her change of emotions.

"I am sure the concern was genuine. I appreciate that. Thank you," Alia said.

Cyrus, who was initially annoyed at everyone’s presence, felt his jaws twitching as he barely controlled his smile.

His wife was surely growing more witty and daring. His anger subsided a little, and all he wanted to do was spoil her.

"Do you want to say I am faking my concern?" Elysia asked.

Alia blinked her eyes innocently.

"I would never. Did it sound like that? I am sorry. It’s just... my head is so heavy and –" Alia staggered backwards and Patrick rushed forward to help her.

However, Cyrus was quick in ti and held her hand before she could fall.

He shook his head and picked her up in his arms before looking at Elysia and then at Patrick.

"You are grateful, but she needs rest. Express is tomorrow," Cyrus’s words were clear.

They weren’t going to entertain anyone anymore.

He walked straight to his room.

As soon as they entered the room, Cyrus did not stop and took her straight to the bathroom.

Alia’s cheeks turned red.

"King Cyrus, you don’t need to co all the way. I can walk myself and –" She started, but Cyrus smirked at her, making her stop.

"I don’t think you are capable of taking care of yourself. Let help you," Cyrus said.

Alia blushed hard and insisted on bathing alone.

Cyrus didn’t want to tease her more since it was already too late and she needed rest.

He smiled at her aningfully one last ti and exited the bathroom, looking at his phone, where he saw a ssage from an unknown number.

It was a video.

He opened the video, and his gaze darkened.

It was the video of none other than his uncle Dominic asking the rogues to hurt Alia and talking about the deal.

However, it wasn’t the video that shocked or angered him.

It was the caption of the video.

"Evidence for you. Luckily, Dominic ca to ask for help from ; if he had gone to soone else, what would’ve happened? I love Alia and would never hurt her, but if I found out you did nothing to protect her, I wouldn’t shy away from taking her away. You don’t deserve her."

Cyrus read the caption repetitively, his gaze landing on the closed bathroom door, and his fists clenched.
