By the ti Alia washed up, the guests had left, and Cyrus sat in the boss chair in the corner of the room, waiting for her to co out.

The mont she exited the bathroom, her gaze t Cyrus’s dark ones.

"Are you in a lot of pain? Should I ask a doctor to co and check up on you?" Cyrus asked, his voice cold and void of emotion.

Alia shook her head.

"That wouldn’t be needed," she smiled at him.

"Really? Why so? You must be hurt," Cyrus said.

Though he was asking that question, Alia could see the suspicion in his eyes, and she humd, feeling strangely calm after eting that white energy.

"You look like you have questions," She asked calmly.

Cyrus’s brows quirked. He didn’t expect her to address his curiosity. He thought she would deny replying to any of his questions when he would ask her about the rogue head and her relationship with him.

"What exactly happened?" Cyrus asked, not beating around the bush.

Alia dried her hair, seated before the body-length mirror.

She looked at him through the reflection before smiling.

"I was in the market, looking at the substances I needed for the experint, and the amount I would need in the laboratory at the Grand Palace, and if I could ask Professor Kinsley for it. Since I needed so herbs, I went to the forest when I heard the screeching of tires before sothing hitting," Alia started.

She told him about how she reached there and saw the rogues almost kidnapping Lilithia. She didn’t know who she was and wanted to save her.

That’s what a decent human should do.

"How were you so sure they won’t hurt you?" Cyrus asked her.

"Well, I happened to save the rogue head’s life once when I had fallen in the ditch after the school ended, and he has been grateful to since then," Alia said.

She also opened up to him about how he told her that Uncle Dominic gave him money to hurt her, and thus, they decided to enact this kidnapping.

"So you weren’t exactly kidnapped," Cyrus stated.

Alia smiled.

"You act like you didn’t know," She said.

Cyrus gritted his teeth.

The girl was atrociously calm about it.

It was true. A voice inside his heart has assured him that nothing would happen to her. That was the reason his wolf didn’t lash out completely and ruin lives even when he was angry.

The way he didn’t feel any pain through the mark on his neck indicated she wasn’t tortured, and thus, it was hard to believe that the rogues wanted to hurt her.

However, he hated not knowing what was going on.

"You could’ve told about it," Cyrus said, surprised that the girl indeed ca out clean with everything rather than cooking up lies to hide it.

Alia smiled and stood from her place.

She turned and walked to him in slow, controlled strides, sothing about her screaming power to him.

She looked like soone in power, and it was surely a little strange.

He licked his lips before holding her hand and pulling her onto his lap.

"So this rogue head likes you," Cyrus said.

Alia froze in her place. She hadn’t expected him to say such words.

She was about to ask him what he ant when he showed her the ssage he got from the rogue head.

Alia sighed.

"You don’t need to worry about it. I’ll deal with it," she said.

Rather than agreeing, Cyrus shook his head.

"I want to et him instead," Cyrus said.

Alia nodded in understanding.

"I’ll see if I can arrange that," she answered without any hesitation, her thoughts circling on what that energy told her about her mark and her energy.

What did she an by golden blood? Was that even a thing?

Cyrus rembered receiving more information about Alia’s mother’s side of the family when Alia beat him to it.

"What is golden blood?" She asked randomly.

Cyrus paused.

"Do you know about your mother already?" He asked.

Alia humd.

The energy had told her that her descendants belonged there.

Cyrus breathed a sigh of relief.

"It’s good that you already know about it. I was wondering how to break the news to you," he said.

Alia smiled and asked him what was so hard to break about it. He could’ve just co to her and told her everything.

She was hoping to break that kind of ice between them, allowing them to share such information.

Why? Because she recently contacted the man who had left her with the information regarding Cyrus’s mother, and the things she found out were sothing she didn’t know how to tell Cyrus.

She had the people to do the work for her. But she didn’t want to entrust anyone to check the facts, not until she was clear about it. It was a sensitive matter after all.

"Well, I didn’t know how you would take the news. After all, you loved your father a lot, and finding out that he betrayed you and your mother." Cyrus started.

However, Alia stopped him from speaking further.

"Wait. What do you an he betrayed and my mother? What’s going on? We were talking about golden blood, weren’t we? Where did this all co from?" Alia stood straight, looking at him for answers.

Cyrus furrowed his brows.

"You just said that you knew," he said.

He finally realised that Alia probably didn’t know the entire truth and thinned his lips.

He didn’t know if he should continue breaking the ice, but now that he had already started talking about it...

"You didn’t know that your father betrayed your mother? That Hannah isn’t your biological sister but a half-sister? That Hannah’s mom and your mom aren’t the sa woman? The nanny living in your house under the pretense of taking care of you guys is actually Hannah’s mother, and Hannah is older than you, which ans your mother was betrayed long ago," Cyrus said.

Alia stood frozen in her place.

It felt like the ground slipped from under her feet.

This couldn’t be true. Whatever he was saying wasn’t right, right?

How could it be?
