“Over the years, you’ve taken a total of one hundred and sixty from my family; is that amount correct?”
“Yes.”
“You took one hundred and twenty from directly, plus all those miscellaneous items I bought for you—it adds up to around one hundred and eighty, more or less. Let’s round it up to two hundred. Including my family’s share, that makes a total of three hundred and sixty. This amount is not one cent more or less.”
“I know you didn’t overcharge . I will pay it back, but I can’t right now. Can you give an extension?”
“How long of an extension? Even if I don’t get married, my brother will eventually need to marry, so you definitely can’t owe this money for too long.”
“How about this: I’ll pay you back twenty each month until it’s all paid off. Does that work for you?”
“Then you have to write an IOU. I can’t trust soone like you. If you find it troubleso, write an IOU for every twenty you pay back. I’ll give one back each ti you make a paynt; it’ll save us both trouble.”
“Fine, I hope you keep your word.”

By now, Luo Qiao had recognized the girl’s voice and, as she passed by, got a clear look at the man’s face.
Luo Qiao quickly left and returned to her dorm where she overheard the girls from the next room saying, “Have you seen Tong Yao?”
“No, I saw her in the water room earlier.”
“It’s almost ti, and her textbooks are still here.”
“Well, why don’t we bring them for her?”
Luo Qiao entered her own dorm. Her bookcase had been well organized for so ti now, with the bottom part converted into a locked cabinet and the top part having four shelves. The bottom two shelves were Luo Qiao’s and the top two were Shen Juan’s.
When Shen Juan saw Luo Qiao co in, she said, “Qiaoqiao, co over here, look what I’ve brought for you.”
Luo Qiao walked over with a smile, tidying up her textbooks as she spoke, “What good thing did you bring?”
Shen Juan took out a brand-new lunch box, “This is my mom’s specialty, and she made it especially for you. You don’t know how thrilled she was when I told my family we were classmates and dorm mates. And this is the result of that excitent.”
Luo Qiao opened the lunch box to find it filled to the brim with sauce-cooked at.
Luo Qiao said with a smile, “Auntie is really too kind.”
Shen Juan climbed down from the upper bunk, “You have no idea, if she had more ti, my mom would probably have prepared even more for you.”
