"Don’t try to change the subject. This isn’t over!" Tang Yue glared at him sideways and got up to get busy.

ng Siyu had just been admitted to the hospital, and there was a lot to be organized, including the clothes Mo Xiaolin brought for ng Siyu, which were a complete ss, as well as so toiletries.

Lunch was delivered by Mo Xiaolin, and then she was ready to leave.

"Mom, I’m going to go ho for a bit. I didn’t even bring my clothes, so I need to go pack so things." Tang Yue said with a smile, and then gracefully left for ho.

Mo Xiaolin looked at ng Siyu and asked, "Did you make Xiao Yue angry?"

Mo Xiaolin raised her eyebrows and flicked a chestnut at him, saying, "ng Siyu, Xiao Yue rushed back from F country just to see you, and yet you made her angry?"

"I didn’t." ng Siyu touched the spot where he was hit, looking innocent.

"You’re still arguing? Listen, if you made Xiao Yue angry, then I don’t have a son like you," Mo Xiaolin said as she put away the dishes and walked away.

Mo Xiaolin went to find a nurse, and coincidentally, Li Wei also arrived. After greeting Li Wei, she left.

ng Jin had said that Li Wei would also take care of Siyu during these days.

Jianan Prefecture.

It’s been over half a year since the new house was lived in. Mo Xiaolin often ca to clean, so it didn’t look like it was uninhabited.

Under the corridor, the big red lanterns had faded a bit, but the festive atmosphere was still there, and everything was as familiar as ever to her.

She walked briskly into the house. The room was just as she had left it, with no changes at all. The bed was covered with a big red wedding quilt, making the whole room look bright and sunny.

It had been over a year since she got married.

Tang Yue said with emotion, sitting in front of the dressing table, looking at her belongings, all carefully organized together. She didn’t know if it was ng Siyu or Mo Xiaolin who had organized them, but she took so clothes out of the wardrobe and took a bath.

Feeling clean and refreshed, she felt much better. Having slept for a while in the hospital, she was still a bit sleepy. She yawned, packed two sets of her own clothes, brought so toiletries, and added so loose clothes for ng Siyu to take to the hospital.

"Xiao Yue." Mo Xiaolin returned after delivering the items and hurried over, saying, "Xiao Yue, that brat Siyu is so inarticulate. Xiao Yue, please don’t hold it against Siyu. I’ve already scolded him."

"Mom, why did you scold him?" Tang Yue looked at Mo Xiaolin with a bewildered face. Tang Yue, still thinking if she had forgotten to bring anything, was confused by what Mo Xiaolin ant.

"If he upset you, he deserves a scolding," Mo Xiaolin said through clenched teeth. "Xiao Yue, rest assured, I’m on your side. If he makes you angry, we’ll ignore him. Let the father and son fend for themselves while we, mother- and daughter-in-law, stick together."

"Pfft—"

Tang Yue couldn’t help but laugh. The way her mother-in-law was looking out for her made her feel as if she were the biological daughter and ng Siyu was the son-in-law.

"Mom, he didn’t make angry," Tang Yue explained. "I ca back because I wanted to get so things."

"Really not angry?" Mo Xiaolin asked with suspicion.

Tang Yue nodded affirmatively: "Really not angry, I guarantee it, you misunderstood him."

Hmph, at most she was angry that ng Siyu got so seriously hurt and still hid it from her. When he called her, he was already unable to hold on, but he still tried to sound casual. Thinking about it now, ng Siyu must have been suffering at the ti, yet he didn’t say a word about it.

Thinking about this, Tang Yue felt so frustrated it hurt, but it was mostly heartache that overwheld her. Every ti she pictured that scene, she was so mad she didn’t want to deal with him.

Still, it’s better not to tell Mo Xiaolin the reason.

"Don’t worry, he’s a man, it’s right for him to be scolded. Being a sister-in-law isn’t easy for you; he should be more considerate of you."

...

"You’re the real daughter, aren’t you?" ng Siyu teased after hearing that.

"Hard to say." Tang Yue said with a giggly smile, Mother-in-law Mo Xiaolin’s kindness to her was truly beyond words.

For dinner, Mo Xiaolin and ng Jin ca over and sat for a while, leaving early to give the young couple so space.

"Mom’s cooking is really good, this soup is particularly flavorful." Tang Yue stirred the clear yellow old duck soup, eating and looking at ng Siyu asking, "Why aren’t you eating yet?"

"I can’t." ng Siyu looked at Tang Yue with puppy eyes.

Tang Yue looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Didn’t you eat well at noon?"

"I was just tired at noon." ng Siyu covered his chest and said, "You don’t know, this wound, even a slight pull, hurts terribly. You were upset at noon, and I didn’t even ntion it."

"Really?" Tang Yue’s tone stretched, she put down her chopsticks and walked over, leaning in to look at ng Siyu’s wound, indeed, she saw that it had begun to bleed, she exclaid in shock, "I’m going to call a doctor."

"No." ng Siyu grabbed her, "Wife, this wound doesn’t need changing until tomorrow, it doesn’t hurt, it only hurts when I move."

Tang Yue didn’t dare to struggle and seriously started to feed ng Siyu.

Under the gaze of ng Siyu’s deep eyes, Tang Yue, who should have been angry, still couldn’t hold back her emotions.

When it was ti to clean the dishes after dinner, Tang Yue thought, this won’t do, I can’t go on like this. If this continues, all my principles will be gone.

At night, just as Tang Yue had made the bed and was ready to rest, ng Siyu suddenly sat up, looking like he tore his wound.

"ng Siyu, why can’t you just listen and be good." Tang Yue saw more and more blood on his bandage, ignoring what he said, she went to find a nurse.

The nurse cautiously changed his dressing; seeing the wound made Tang Yue’s tears almost fall.

As soon as the nurse left.

ng Siyu took the opportunity to pull Tang Yue to his side, sitting down on the bed and said, "Wife, it doesn’t hurt."

"Humph, you still have the nerve to say that? But what if it was the other way around, if I was injured or had sothing happen..."

"Hm!"

Tang Yue’s eyes widened as she looked at ng Siyu, thinking of his wound, yet she dared not, and she huffed with puffed cheeks.

"Wife, I’d rather be injured myself than let you get hurt." ng Siyu’s eyes, filled with seriousness that couldn’t be more sincere.

"But I don’t want to be kept in the dark, especially when you were on the brink of life and death, and I was oblivious like nothing happened." Tang Yue lowered her eyes, on the spotless white sheets, a drop of water spread, drop by drop like blossoming flowers.

"Wife, next ti..." ng Siyu’s words were not yet finished, facing Tang Yue lifting her head, seeing those tearful eyes, he imdiately corrected himself, "There won’t be a next ti, from now on, I will be safe and sound, for you and our future children, I will be safe and sound."
