Chen Yan frowned in thought for a mont, deciding he couldn’t just sit and wait for death. He cradled the axe in his hand and chopped down a few branches nearby.
Aiming at the head of one Hunting Beast on the ground, he raised his hand and shot a branch toward it.
With a thud, the branch pierced into the body of a Hunting Beast. It roared furiously, its voice filled with pain, leaping angrily and raising its head to roar at Chen Yan in the tree.
Chen Yan saw that the branch was embedded in the Hunting Beast’s back, seemingly penetrating a few inches, yet this beast had rough skin and thick flesh. The branch, as tough as iron, only caused it minor injuries, bleeding a little, but most of the force was negated by the arrows embedded in its back.
Squinting his eyes in thought, Chen Yan took out a branch and tied a piece of solid alcohol to it, igniting it.
Raising his hand, he tossed this flaming branch down again.
This ti, several Hunting Beasts jumped back in fear, but the effect wasn’t great as they quickly gathered back around.
A few bold Hunting Beasts even stretched out their hooves to kick at the burning branch.
"Fire doesn’t scare them away..." Chen Yan touched his chin.

Several hours later, Chen Yan bit into an energy bar, squinting at the group of Hunting Beasts below the tree.
These creatures seed no longer restless but didn’t leave either, surrounding the area beneath while a couple wandered around, the rest lying down to rest.
After a few more hours, Chen Yan opened his backpack, took out a Hunting Beast leg, sliced off a piece of at, and wrapped it with a sheet of foil.
He lit a branch, utilizing the fla to roast at while sitting on the tree trunk.
Quickly, the aroma of roasted at began to waft outward.
The Hunting Beasts lying on the ground all got up, restlessly looking up at Chen Yan in the tree.
Chen Yan’s expression was indifferent as he patiently roasted the at. After a while, he put out the fire, tore open the foil, and the steaming at inside emitted a rich fragrance.
Chen Yan used his teeth to lightly tear off a piece, feeling the scorching flavor of the roasted at with his tongue, inhaling, and fiercely chewing while gazing at the group of Hunting Beasts below.
"Keep waiting then, I have food, while you’re starving!"

His expression changed as he looked down, his eyes twitching furiously!
So Hunting Beasts were already under the tree, desperately using their tusks to dig around the base!

And the muddy, wet earth was being churned up by the tusks of the Hunting Beasts, more and more soil getting dug up, causing the tree trunk to sway more noticeably.

With over ten Hunting Beasts scattered, Chen Yan seized the opportunity and shot out three or four more Fiery Fire Talismans.

Landing on the ground, several Hunting Beasts were provoked into aggression, forcing themselves onto Chen Yan with bites. He swung his axe, cutting left and right, while swiftly continuing to run towards the forest’s edge!
After a few bounds, Chen Yan had already reached the forest’s edge, pursued closely by four unburnt Hunting Beasts, one of which was particularly massive, resembling a calf in size, with tusks nearly half a ter long.
