Sharon’s POV—

Aerila gave an evil smile, making feel goosebumps all over my body. I asked, "W-what are y-you going to do with ?"

Aerila replied, "I have many things in mind. How many ideas do you want to hear?"

Fuck! I made a big mistake coming here. I shouldn’t have co here in the first place. No... not coming here would be even bigger mistake than this.

"Please, I think we can talk this out. Taking , captive won’t be good for your people," I tried to reason with her.

"What are you saying?" said Aerila. Her tone was full of warning.

Ignoring the danger hidden in her words, I swallowed audibly and said, "I am the emperor of this empire and if you take as a hostage, it will definitely incite my people. They will attack you."

Aerila glared at for a mont, before the corners of her mouth twitched and she began laughing loudly. I was dumbfounded by her reaction.

"Why are you laughing?"

Aeria just shook her head and laughed even more loudly. Wiping a tear from her left eye, she said, "Hahaha... it was funny! You are funny. You know, if I didn’t know you any better... I would have thought that you are worried for us, demons. How convenient for you to say that your people will search for you? Why do you even think they will suspect demons first?"

I couldn’t refute her words. It was true. Why they would suspect demons first? Even Maria and Kaerin won’t be able to deduce it.

Aerila smirked at my helplessness. She moved her index finger across my face. She said, "What are you thinking about? Are you thinking about how I will tornt you? Or, are you thinking about sothing else? Make no mistake, no one... will... ever... save... you."

I paled at her words. Not many people can make feel afraid, not unless you are the heroines or, that hooded man.

"You will not k-kill ?" I asked her. It was for my reassurance.

Aerila smiled at but her eyes... they were covered with frost and all the emotions in them were dead. "I will think about it. Entertain , and I may pardon you."

I frowned. Her words were anything but reassuring. It’s better for to get out of here. I thrashed a bit in my bindings and tried to use my ’Absolute Weapon Congen’ ability. But I couldn’t conjure a sword. I tried again but nothing happened. If anything, the vines tightened even more around , making almost breathless.

"Are you trying to use your ability?" Aerila asked . She had smug look on her face.

"H-how?"

"I can feel it, you know," Aerila caressed a vine that was near her, "these vines are very useful. They are my trump card if I daresay. When they wrap around soone’s body, they constantly eat their mana as well as seal their captive’s abilities. So, my dear... it’s futile to think that you can escape from here."

My eyes widened in horror. I tried to thrash even more and the vines suffocated even more. I coughed a bit and my vision was getting blurry. Just before I closed my eyes, I heard her say, "Sleep tight. We will et again when you wake up. Sweet dreams."

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a room. It was very dirty and had a pungent sll all over the place. There were no windows or any outlets for ventilation. The tiles were also dirty. They had turned yellow from white. It was a room which wasn’t used at all. As for maintenance, it would be better if we just forget about it. Suddenly, the room’s door was opened and a woman walked in. She had two horns sticking out of her head. Her eyes held a disgust and hatred for . She was wearing a maid’s outfit.

I asked, "Where am I?"

The maid sneered, "Shut up! Human, you don’t have any right to ask any question. Understood?"

I glared at her. "It’s not for you to decide. I am kept in ’this room,’ at least I have so right to ask so questions."

The maid looked at in disapproval. But soon it turned into anger. She grabbed my hand and threw out of the bed as if I was sleeping on her bed. I fell on the ground with a thump. Just as I turned towards her, she threw sothing right to my face. I caught it in the right mont and looked at it.

It was a maid’s uniform. Embarrassnt and anger poured over . When I glared at her, I saw her looking at with a satisfied look.

"What the fuck are these?!"

"These are a maid’s uniform. I didn’t know humans are this slow. I feel sympathy for your poor brain," the maid mocked with her sarcastic words.

I rebutted, "I won’t wear these."

The maid crouched down and grabbed my hair in anger. I flinched in pain. She hissed, "I am not asking you to wear these. It’s an order from Her Majesty, the demon queen. You have to wear these. And don’t think of using your abilities, it is futile. The vines are wrapped all over you. Also, don’t try to pull it but if you want to, then be my guest. I am waiting outside your room." Pushing down, she released my hair and left the room.

I laid on the ground with one thought. Aerila is going to humiliate and then... I don’t know what she will do next. My neck had small vines wrapped around it and so did my wrists and ankles.

I sighed in frustration. Aerila isn’t going to leave just like that. Having no other choice, I changed into the maid’s dress and left the room.

When the maid looked at , she humd in approval and motioned to follow her. Throughout the way, I tried to adjust my skirt which was way too short.

We stopped in front of a room. She knocked at the door.

"Co in," a muffled sound was heard. The maid opened the door and told to go in. I wanted to ask if she wasn’t going in or not, but she grabbed my hand and pushed in. *Click* I heard the door get closed.

Biting my tongue, I looked in front of and saw Aerila sitting on a chair and reading a book. She also had horns out of her head and was wearing glasses. The soft rays of sunlight graced her black hair, making it look ethereal. Her horns were shining and her face was glowing. There was a pleasant sll of lilacs in the air. Even though she was a demon, for a mont I felt that she was a picture coming right out of a fairytale book.

Aerila closed the book with a snap and dropped it on the floor. She said, "Give the book."

I gritted my teeth in anger. The book is right near her feet yet, she is asking to lift it up.

"Didn’t you hear what I said? Give the book."

Hah! Right now, I am at the disadvantage. If I go against her, it won’t be good for . I took small steps and walked towards her. Just as I about to lift up the book, Aerila kicked the book away and didn’t say anything. Understanding what her intention was, I walked towards the book’s new location and lifted it up. I tried to hand her the book but she didn’t take it from my hands.

Not able to control myself, I said, "Don’t kick the books. It’s not good." It was barely above a whisper.

Aerila raised her eyebrows at my words. She asked, "Do you hate kicking the books?" I nodded reluctantly. I could feel she would do sothing bad.

She snatched the book from my hand. Throwing it into the air, she kicked it away. She said, "I don’t give a damn if you like it or not. The things that you hate... I like them. What’s your na?"

I looked at her in shock. She didn’t know my na? She continued, "I don’t know your na. I knew you were the emperor by your hair and eyes. It’s your family traits, isn’t it?"

"Sharon Charatshore," I replied.

Aerila nodded and moved her gaze across my body as if she was trying to absorb all my features into her head. She looked at with an unknown emotion in her eyes. Her gaze stayed a little longer at my skirt. I fidgeted with fingers a bit due to the undisguised tension in the air. Aerila almost observed for at least 10 minutes.

"You look good in a maid’s uniform," she comnted and looked into my eyes, "I am waiting for a ’thank you.’ I hope you know the basic manners."

"T-thank y-you," I stuttered.

Aerila nodded and her eyes turned a bit less gloomy. She said, "Let’s talk about your duties."
